@thelookout782 - well, sort of. St. Louis is only one of a few cities in the country that set its borders over 100 years ago. Unlike nearly every other city in the country, it has not annexed its suburbs as it's grown during that time. As a result, the "City of St. Louis" is quite tiny and contains a disproportionate amount of what many would call "inner city". If you take StL and its suburbs, it's quite a safe city, better than the median.
@bprop agreed, actually i would of thought Detroit would hold that title. i have relatives in some St.Louis suburbs,Fenton and Arnold. and i must admit i always had a good time there, never any problems. every city has its problem areas.
@thelookout782 Always wanting a tex hike.Get rid of your useless lazy employees.Like Robert Brown, from the get hired off welfare program.Check out Brentwoods third shift.TRhe driver that posted that peice in the paper was telling the truth.Mechanics sleeping through their shift,Jim Manzo steeling tires, and everything else he can get his hands on.(thats how he lost his last job)Then you have Mike Stinger,Who can minuplate a computer,to where it looks like he worked all night,
yeah i was amazed last time i went to st louis i was walking downtown an i saw the stairs going down to da subway and i was surprised i didnt know st louis had a subway im from chicago so i wouldnt know
mike,if you live in St. Louis County, Prop M will be on the ballot this November. One resident in St. Charles County stated that when she voted it down, she felt silly and agreed that what she did was stupid. And if it ever hits the ballot again out her way, she plans to vote in favor of it. If your work place is near Veterans Blvd., or if you live near there, the SCAT (St. Charles Area Transit) runs an I-70 shuttle to the stop at North Hanley.
The Big Bend Station is one of the prettiest stations of all. I am glad they decided to leave the colored lights alone and let them change on their own. That is what makes the subway stations so pretty!
Too bad. If MetroLink continues to expand to other areas, they may have second thoughts. Even L.A. has a subway again. People are tired of being stuck in (car) traffic.
I still live in st louis and that is the primary reason why it does not reach to far into the suburbs....Our traffic is getting worst and so is pollution..I would love to take the train to work but it does not go out to st peters and I have not heard of any plans to do so...
why dont you write to your city and county to recommend bringing it to the area. Tell your peers who want it as well too. I mean its a small fight, but it could work over time.
In San Diego we had to put a fence up between the tracks underground or people would try to take shortcuts across... you guys may have to do that there before long. Looks gorgeous though!
I thought metro link was a triple decker train with horns on te engine and the last car and ran in CA

It goes from Lambert International in North STL all the way to Scott AFB. I wish for a line that goes to south county and perhaps to chesterfield.

I'm so glad that we have the MetroLink.
When ever i'm at my friends house, we would get on the Metro at UMSL(North Campus) and go downtown!

Not likely, St Louis uses high floor cars, the platform is around three feet above the tracks.
