Many deists believe there be a God because of sheer unlikely probability of life to occur in the universe. The universe should not exist, it is mind-bogglingly improbable to have been life-permissible as well as other physical discoveries have arisen scientifically.

The problem I have with atheism is that even if more unequivocal scientific evidence arose to suggest a creator many would still look for reasons to not believe in one. They can be just as bad as the YEC Christians. It's faith.

Even things that are logically impossible? Make a rock large enough he himself cannot lift? A square circle? In the equation A=B & B=C can he then make A not equal to C? I doubt you would argue that. I would argue that a god man is exactly the same as a square circle. They are by definition inconsistent. What level of magical power can a man have before you no longer consider him a man but a god in a man costume?

I had to hear it from his own lips. As a former atheist myself, I concur that modern science makes the atheist posture unsustainable. The likes of dawkins can go on re-inventing & misrepresenting Darwin all they like (even though evolution in itself, is not bullet-proof)'cause that's all they have left.

The point of science is not to be "bullet-proof". That is the realm of dogma. I concur with the earlier posters. I would love for there to be a moral god (not the God of Abraham). I just fail to believe because there is no positive evidence and plenty of negative evidence for most god concepts.

Good point. I think we're all in a path to further our knowledge and it's better to be open minded on that travel. I've reached to a point where I have concluded that God exist. But I certainly can't put you to where I am. In these matters, we all have to travel on our own. :-) Have a good one!

Its not a surprise that an atheist may be able to entertain the possibilitiy of a 'god' or 'gods'. It may be a surprise to christians that claim that atheist claim they know there is no God, but not too atheist. We just want proof.

You said it. We want proof. I want to believe in God. Wanting something does not make it true. As a former christian I was never successful in proving God.
