Nathan is non-canon now... they removed him from the Castlevania timeline, just like several other characters (Sonia Belmont is one such example). Still was a fun game though

@Joueurdelacave It's probably similar to it (e.g. made from alchemy), but without the tainted soul (as revealed in Lament of Innocence), it's not as effective against vampires without being augmented with magic.
@Hito391 Dont bother getting the GBA version because after awhile the battery inside the cartridge will die out and you'll have to re-do eveyrthing again. Just look for the ROM. Use google to find the ROM.
i lost this game a while back, then reobtained, and i am glad i did!!! this game rocks! the ds cards are a pain to obtain though(i have all but the two in the arena) and im about level 50. im still not able to power through it!
Well i've seen gameplay from this game and it's not so bad actually.A remake would really make this game and character shine. He's not that bad,it's just because he's not a Belmont that he's not really accepted. =_=
THe beginning was sobadass, you have to change the guitar after to something more rock and less like the guitar in the ebginning, other than that its perfect, but if you make the change it will be the best song of the fucking multiverse.
don't forget the overload of awesome remixed tracks from the series, as well as great original stuff like this very song. Oh, and the fact that Nathan Graves is, retcon or not, easily, EASILY the coolest non-Belmont in any Castlevania ever, save Alucard--and gives many Belmonts a run for their money.
yea Igarashi actually said that this one, castlevania legends and the n64 one had to be removed not because he didn't make the games but because the games but because its stories couldn't tie into the twenty year long story line these games have been through. these are more like spin offs. if anyone has ever played the series in it's entirety, the story line flows pretty well
Although i've played and completed all but the first two C'Vanias (played the first two, just can't complete the buggers) it's still hard to keep track of it all. I know the history of the Belmont's pretty well but the passing of the Vampire Killer and Similar Whips, like the Hunters Whip is skewed ^_^
@Hazelminker well unless if u dont count belmonts cause juste belmont dident have a second game and i bet that johnattan and shanoa will be in another game not counting castlevania harmony of disspare
AwesomeRemix this was my first GBA Game (sadly it doens´t Save anymore T_T) and i love this game, This one and Aria of sorrow are my favorites Castlevanias for the GBA
but i think if your a vet of the older castlevania games, OoE might prove harder because it is not what most veterans are accustomed too.
However, if your a SOTN (Symphony of the Night player), then Circle of the Moon is gonna be hell for you since its you mainly have the whip as your weapon and nothing else but the classic subweapons and magic cards if your lucky enough to find them.
It depends. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon tends to be easier if you get lucky with DSS card and equipment drops, get the cross as soon as possible in the Triumph Hallway, and master aiming the inverse of its trajectory (which can strike four or five times, each as strong as an unpowered whip strike). Thief Mode (unlockable) is extremely difficult.
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is probably more difficult but it's alleviated if you're wise with monsters' resistances and weaknesses.
well, yes actually the hard mode is harder than Cotm, but when i said cotm was harder i was mentioning about the normal mode ( the first time you play the game) com is defenetly harder in the normal mode, but who cares, its castlevania
@Michelle2815CV OoE is fairly easier in some aspects (Glyph collecting, for example), but is hard in some others (you don't really have something to motivate you to farm for items, some enemies are resistant to the most effective combos, the Dominus glyphs saps your health). But OoE is truly worth playing
@Michelle2815CV Circle of the moon maintains its difficulty even if you overlevel yourself. There's no easy way around bosses so it's pretty challenging. One of my favorite castlevanias to boot!
@trasmus5 Order of Ecclesia has Shanoa who has a primary attack method dependant on magic (e.g. glyphs)
Circle of the Moon has Nathan Graves, who has a whip that's similar to the Vampire Killer, but doesn't have the tainted soul to make it more effective against vampires, instead it's augmented with magic (which is optional, but enhances the whip's capabilities and affects the weilder as well).
Order of Ecclesia wasn't that difficult for me. I bought this game on ebay last night followed by harmony of dissonance and i have a feeling i may struggle with this so anyways it probobly in my opinon is one of the hardest video games
@Michelle2815CV Circle of the moon is definitely harder than Order of Ecclesia, but not necessarily better. I'd say OoE is better IMO, CotM didnt really have many interesting things to it. The DSS system was somewhat interesting but not everything about it was useful, and extra game modes aren't all that interesting either. All in all I'd say OoE is better all around, but not as difficult
@AbsoluteZer092 But the problem is when you get advanced you have no chance to die. At least you won't die when you morph into something. OoE is not bad, but it is impossible to lose your life at the final boss unless you intend to die or you are too dumb or you just used the dominus agony and then a little HP left and get hit.... damn.
@Michelle2815CV fair enough, OoE did get easy toward the end. But i think the thick of the game was composed of a good balance of diffculty. Circle of the Moon was just a huge endurance run imo. Not that i don't love Circle of the Moon. But OoE was pretty damn good. and the Glyph system was interesting to have around. it gave you a lot of creativity fighting bosses
@Michelle2815CV Yea PoR was great, no lie. my personal favorite was teh Whip's Memory boss fight. they just suffered from some lazy level designs. Half of the portrait stages were just Dark versions of the originals
@Michelle2815CV Really? I felt like OoE was easily the hardest Castlevania RPG they've ever made. CoM, HoD, AoS, PoR, and SotN were no where near as hard as OoE was to me. OoE is a lot of trial and error. The others were just go in with proper leveling and gear and beat 'em down.
IMO it is harder. I don't die because i have like 1,00000000000000 % skill at CV but I am playing through the game now. It is harder than order of ecclesia because you take like infinante damage sometimes and you have a limited weapon system not like order of ecclesia with the glyphs. But it is worth a go if you like a good challange
@Michelle2815CV I think OoE is the worst of them all, since you're not playing as an original character such as Soma, a belmont or atleast Alucard, you play as a witch, which ruins the game :S
@Michelle2815CV in my opinion this one why because there are no shops and every potion u get gives u only 20 health back and in order of ecclisia well u got shops and potions give u much more but this game is for poeple that say fuck potions fuck shops all i need is my damn whip so watch out dracula im coming for u
Nathan have quite good options with all his DSS cards. Plus, if Nathan could be a "boss" on SoTN, or any game mixs, he will be perhaps the hardest boss in all castlevania. (Familiars + Elemental Circle defenses, he use the Vampire Killer whip combined with an element or use another weapon, he can summon the DSS card and attack or simple become a skeleton and throw bones until he threw a BIG BONE making 9999 damage) He is the most customable vampire hunter ever.
That's exactly why Circle of the Moon is my favorite Castlevania. Not that I have anything against the Sorrow series, but you pretty much knew what every spell was going to do. When you picked up a card in Circle of the Moon, you had NO idea what spell(s (1-10, depending upon how many element/action cards you have)) were just added to your arsenal. All of them were fun and unique.

No, he couldn't. Aside from that non-canon thing, Alucard is by far the strongest Castlevania hero, the only ones close to him are Soma (who may be his equal or even superior to him, since he has Draculas powers), Julius and Richter.

It's funny, this is easily my favorite of the GBA Castlevanias.
I think it has to do with the fact that there's far less inane bullcrap than other games in the series.
Combine that with the MANLY SHOULDER CHARGE, and the fact that you can ACTUALLY RUN, it makes for one heck of a good black sheep.

legendaryhero90 2 years ago
What magic cards?
Michelle2815CV 2 years ago
its the DSS cards.
they are dropped from monsters in Circle of the Moon but rarely are they dropped.
if you find one, it will help greatly because it would open for more options of attacking or defending by using Magic.
Without the cards, Nathan cannot use magic. But if you find one particular card, you keep it. You never have to fight monsters for it again.
But they are sort of random so you can either hope you get one or your gonna have to keep killing monsters for it.
legendaryhero90 2 years ago
