SDA's know very little about the New Covenant and that's why all the confusion. If they could separate out the Covenants then the scales would fall from there eyes!
I believe you are half right, the Old Covenant was the law written on stone.
The New Covenant however is a completely new law e.g. Heb 7:12 For when the priesthood id changed the Law must be changed also. 18 The former Regulation is set aside. Transferring the Law into the heart is not setting it aside but elevating it. This we are instructed NOT to do. Remember Jesus said not to put old wine in new wineskins.
We have both agreed that the Ten Commandments are called the Law of the Covenant however in Heb 7 Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant (in other words, a better law). For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also. You are not changing the law, you are elevating it.
The days are coming when I will make a NEW covenant...it will not be like the old one...etc the new law is not the old one wrapped heart tissue.

You have to read the context because this was regarding the Priesthood. What was the change? It was the change of the fact that the sons of Levi were the line of priests. Jesus is of Judah so there had to be a change in the law of priesthood. But the priesthood is not doing anything NEW, they are doing the same practices as was stated in Leviticus. Only thing different is that Jesus is a priest from the tribe of Judah
The same 10 commandments that Christ lived out in His life. The 10 commandments identify sin and so Jesus had to live a perfect life towards those 10 commandments. The fact that Jesus lived it perfectly, we have a set example to follow.

The New Testament does not need to be propped up by Mt Sinai law. St Paul warns us against doing this. The New Test stands on its own. The law of Christ is the authority there. Trying to ram the 10c into the New Testament is trying to put old wine in new wine skins. New wine belongs in new wine skins.
The 10 commandments is Christ law. Jesus said clearly that He did not come to destroy the law or the prophets but to fulfill it. Christ did that by living out the law perfectly in sinful flesh, showing that the law of God can be kept if we walk in the spirit and not the lusts of the flesh. I already had shown you 1 Peter 2:20.

Heb 7... the law established the priesthood, the priesthood was established as part of the law. Therefore when the priesthood is changed the law MUST be changed also.

We need to be able to separate the Mt Sinai law from the law of Christ but you seem to be promoting the 10 C above all else. What I am saying is that Old Covenant law is not for the Christian as he has a far superior covenant to adhere to. St Paul has told us to stop standing at the foot of Mt Sinai because we need to move on into the light of the New Testament revelation. The law was introduced as a stop gap measure but now that Christ is here there is no need for a schoolmaster.
You seem particularly fond of the 4th Commandment but under the New Covenant it has been completely fulfilled. If you have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit within, then the Sabbath is redundant. The OT must be read in light of the New and not the other way round. A far greater revelation is found in the NT, things into which the angels long to look. In order to appreciate the New Covenant we must die to the old. You are telling me that the law has authority over you so consequently you have not died to it. Rom 7 By dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.
Rom 7 Christ’s death on the Cross has given us authority to belong to another Law i.e. the New Cov Law. We are released from the Mt Sinai Law thru the death of Christ just as a married woman is free to marry when her husband dies.

The sabbath is actually Saturday, not sunday. The catholic church changed the day from sat to Sunday to worship their pagan god. Hence Sunday the day of the sun and any calendar I've seen Sunday is the first day of the week and Saturday is the seventh.
Learn about an organization called the European Sunday Alliance, who seeks to create and enforce a law for all of Europe, forcing all people to rest on Sunday. Thereby preventing and controlling people's ability to "buy and sell" as commerce would be forbidden on Sundays. Except those business' the EU would decide could maintain the right to be open, by meeting Eu criteria. Penalties would be imposed upon those who defy the day of rest.

The sabbath command is part of the letter that kills. Christ did not just cleanse our sins, God made us a new creation in Christ. It's our new nature that makes us without sin. The good works that we do were planed in advance by God for his new creation {Christians, the body of Christ} (eph. 2:10) to do--to practice for the eternal life we receive.
But the thing is I am not even talking of works. Your only focusing on one aspect and thats the works. I am not talking about what we do to be saved. I am talking of the end time issue. Just as it was with the 3 Hebrew boys.

I am concerned that Sabbath keeping is leading people into legalism and self-righteousness. What I don't understand is why paul when writing to the church in Galations says he fears for them because they keep days ect and are slipping into jewish legalism. If it was important to still keep the weekly sabbath would he expect them to know that just because he is refering to days plural not singular. Yet in Romans 7 he makes sure that the law is not seen as sin when confirm our death to the law
Thats a good question. The point of Sabbath keeping is simply because we want to spend that time, that Holy time with the Creator. Because God bless, sanctified, rested, even rested in the tomb for, made Holy, He has set this time for all the cares of life to be put at ease and just to spend that quality time. It should be like Heaven on Sabbaths because you are not worried about worldly cares. Thats what Sabbath should really be like. Not a set of rules to follow.....
Thankyou for replying. I still am not convicted by the spirit to keep that day. I am convicted to give Him my whole life and seek Him alone for hours/days when ever and to be led by him to bring forth his fruits . If as written in the beginning of Timothy the Law is only used lawfully to convict wicked people of sin and not the righteous, why would we then turn to the very thing that condemned us in the first place.

Yes He wants us to walk in the law of His spirit. The fruit of the law of the spirit is LOVE. If you keep his commandments then you love the lord with all your heart and mind and strength and you love your neighbor as yourself. Both of these commandments are not in the Ten commandments but summarise what is most important. The spirit might convict you not to eat sweets or something else personal but the oldness of serving in the letter would never do that.

I never said it removed it. The commandment is for the wicked. The spirit brings forth fruit gentleness, kindness, patience love ect so it would not lead you to murder. You see I can become more sensitive to the Spirit so that when I do something that grieves Him I know Ive stepped outside his leading. That is deeper than just what not to do but leads you to DO and walk with him. When they walked with Christ I bet they saw what he did not what he didn't do.

In Galatians, Paul was talking of the ceremonial sabbaths which were the feasts, new moons, and ceremonial sabbaths seen in Lev 23 which pointed out the priesthood duties. The sign and seal of the Lord for Christians is the Holy Spirit, not the 7th day Sabbath which was done away by Christ on the cross. It just wears me out how you guys cannot see that we are now Israel of the Spirit. The Church. Israel is now realized in the Church, therefore, the Sabbath sign of Sanctification transfers over to the Church. Read Galatians 3:28,29, Matthew 21:43. The Sabbath was to be a sign FOR EVER! However, since the Church is the NEW Israel by Christ, and that the law is now living in the person of Jesus, Hb 3 and 4 tells us that he is the Sabbath, Jesus. By faith we are now entering the true Sabbath was foretold in the law and the prophets, and was accomplished on the cross and made effective. The true seal of God is the Holy Spirit according the New Covenant.
When I read Hebrews 3 and 4, I do not see ANYWHERE that it says Jesus is the Sabbath. The word for "rest" in Heb 4:1,3,4, 5,8,10, and 11, is "katapausis", which means to "pause", or to "rest". However, the word for "REST" in Hebrews 4:9 is "SABBATISMOS", which means "SABBATH KEEPING". Therefore, Hebrews 4 is NOT saying that Jesus REPLACES the Sabbath. Rather, it is saying that the Seventh-Day Sabbath keeping is an EXPRESSION of our "REST" in Christ. (continued...)
In other words, the "sabbatismos" is the EXPRESSION, or SIGNIFICATION of our "katapausis" in Christ, & this is why Heb 4:9 says "There STILL remains a SABBATH KEEPING to the people of God!". Proof? I have been a SDA all my life. I was born into it from SDA parents. I was a SDA from my heart , that was all I believed, and like you I was honest with my feelings. I have studied the History and it makes sense. A great disappointment just like in the time of the disciples who had the wrong view of Christ's event as a conquering King but were right about the date.
All I know from this is I have never seen the Bible in such an amazing light before by the Spirit of Prophecy which God has given to His remnant church.

well, she is wrong, she said that the SDA church will be persecuted to the mountains and then jesus will come. SDA keep waiting and anticipaiting their persecution. They have been preaching this since EGW came out with this idea. She even thought it was going to happen in her life time. She was WRONG. HUman Rights will be violated and this is just FEAR preaching so you stay in this church.
Yeap! you are right so was Paul. The bible as you may know was put together by a buch of people that decided what stayed and what didn't. In fact, the bible as you know it today is not the same that came out when it first was introduced. The New Covenant however is a completely new law e.g. Heb 7:12 For when the priesthood id changed the Law must be changed also. 18 The former Regulation is set aside. Transferring the Law into the heart is not setting it aside but elevating it. This we are instructed NOT to do. Remember Jesus said not to put old wine in new wineskins.

We have both agreed that the Ten Commandments are called the Law of the Covenant however in Heb 7 Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant (in other words, a better law). For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also. You are not changing the law, you are elevating it.
The days are coming when I will make a NEW covenant...it will not be like the old one...etc the new law is not the old one wrapped heart tissue.

Friend let us allow the Bible to explain itself. It is not in other words a better law. Heb 8 has already said it was not a good covenant because THEY (Children of Israel) did not continue in it. They said, all the Lord has said WE will do. But God says I will write my law in their hearts.
What is a covenant? An agreement. So what is it about the 10c, contextualized with an agreement?

You have to read the context because this was regarding the Priesthood. What was the change? It was the change of the fact that the sons of Levi were the line of priests. Jesus is of Judah so there had to be a change in the law of priesthood. But the priesthood is not doing anything NEW, they are doing the same practices as was stated in Leviticus. Only thing different is that Jesus is a priest from the tribe of Judah

The same 10 commandments that Christ lived out in His life. The 10 commandments identify sin and so Jesus had to live a perfect life towards those 10 commandments. The fact that Jesus lived it perfectly, we have a set example to follow.

The New Testament does not need to be propped up by Mt Sinai law. St Paul warns us against doing this. The New Test stands on its own. The law of Christ is the authority there. Trying to ram the 10c into the New Testament is trying to put old wine in new wine skins. New wine belongs in new wine skins.

The 10 commandments is Christ law. Jesus said clearly that He did not come to destroy the law or the prophets but to fulfill it. Christ did that by living out the law perfectly in sinful flesh, showing that the law of God can be kept if we walk in the spirit and not the lusts of the flesh. I already had shown you 1 Peter 2:20.
You have to be very careful because you saying that we no longer need to keep God's law. It will create post modernism in Christianity

Heb 7... the law established the priesthood, the priesthood was established as part of the law. Therefore when the priesthood is changed the law MUST be changed also.
The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.

The Ark of the covenant contained the Tablets of the covenant.
Ex 34:28 ‘and he wrote on the tablets the WORDS OF THE COVENANT – the Ten Commandments.’

Heb 8 last verse sums it up...By calling this covenant new He has made the first one obsolete.
The first covenant is obsolete and therefore the symbols of the covenant are obsolete too. The law of the covenant, the Ark that contained the law of the covenant and the book of the covenant are obsolete.
Trying to drag parts of the old covenant into the new is polluting the Gospel, this Paul warned us against doing ie preaching another Gospel.

We need to be able to separate the Mt Sinai law from the law of Christ but you seem to be promoting the 10 C above all else. What I am saying is that Old Covenant law is not for the Christian as he has a far superior covenant to adhere to. St Paul has told us to stop standing at the foot of Mt Sinai because we need to move on into the light of the New Testament revelation. The law was introduced as a stop gap measure but now that Christ is here there is no need for a schoolmaster.

Wages of sin is death.
No one needed to die if the law could be removed or changed.

The OT must be read in light of the New and not the other way round. A far greater revelation is found in the NT, things into which the angels long to look. In order to appreciate the New Covenant we must die to the old. You are telling me that the law has authority over you so consequently you have not died to it. Rom 7 By dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

Rom 7 Christ’s death on the Cross has given us authority to belong to another Law i.e. the New Cov Law. We are released from the Mt Sinai Law thru the death of Christ just as a married woman is free to marry when her husband dies.

The point with what you presented is that it is not a BRAND new commandment! It has always been because the law (which is love) is the foundation of God's throne (Ps 97:1, 2, Pss 119:142, 172)

The sabbath is actually Saturday, not sunday. The catholic church changed the day from sat to Sunday to worship their pagan god. Hence Sunday the day of the sun and any calendar I've seen Sunday is the first day of the week and Saturday is the seventh.

The sabbath command is part of the letter that kills. Christ did not just cleanse our sins, God made us a new creation in Christ. It's our new nature that makes us without sin. The good works that we do were planed in advance by God for his new creation {Christians, the body of Christ} (eph. 2:10) to do--to practice for the eternal life we receive.

But the thing is I am not even talking of works. Your only focusing on one aspect and thats the works. I am not talking about what we do to be saved. I am talking of the end time issue. Just as it was with the 3 Hebrew boys.
Not bowing down to the image wasn't a result of works. Standing up was a result of faithfulness to God's commandments because HE is in charge and not man. Thats the issue.
The reason you don't understand is because your apply works to everything here

I am concerned that Sabbath keeping is leading people into legalism and self-righteousness. What I don't understand is why paul when writing to the church in Galations says he fears for them because they keep days ect and are slipping into jewish legalism. If it was important to still keep the weekly sabbath would he expect them to know that just because he is refering to days plural not singular. Yet in Romans 7 he makes sure that the law is not seen as sin when confirm our death to the law

Thats a good question. The point of Sabbath keeping is simply because we want to spend that time, that Holy time with the Creator. Because God bless, sanctified, rested, even rested in the tomb for, made Holy, He has set this time for all the cares of life to be put at ease and just to spend that quality time. It should be like Heaven on Sabbaths because you are not worried about worldly cares. Thats what Sabbath should really be like. Not a set of rules to follow.....

Thankyou for replying. I still am not convicted by the spirit to keep that day. I am convicted to give Him my whole life and seek Him alone for hours/days when ever and to be led by him to bring forth his fruits . If as written in the beginning of Timothy the Law is only used lawfully to convict wicked people of sin and not the righteous, why would we then turn to the very thing that condemned us in the first place.

What does that mean that the convicts of sin? We need to know what sin is first. 1 Jn 3:4 says it is the BREAKING of the law. The law was lived out in the life of Christ which is why we follow His example. His law was the example of the law. You are ONLY condemned if you break the law of God. What you said about seeking Him with your whole life does not contradict the Sabbath

Paul then goes on to say, Is the law sin? God forbid for if it wasn't for the law we would not have known what sin was. He has talked so much about dying to sin that now when talking of dying to the law,which he used a husband and wife example for, he does not want his readers to be confused.

As I said before the commandment came to convict us of sin. What fruit does the bible say we have in the spirit? The good works we produce are not commandments for we are righteous and sanctification is the spirits work.
For the law of the spirit of life in Christ has set me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8 v2. Why is Paul talking as though there are two laws at work?

Reason being is because there are two laws. The law of sin and death is to kill, steal, commit adultery, worship idols, break the Sabbath, covet, lords name in vain.
The law of life is if you are keeping these. That like you said is the Spirits work. But the law is not a letter, the law of God is exceeding broad as Isaiah says. Thats why if you lost upon a woman you don't need to commit the act because it is already done in your heart Matt 5. This subject needs to be very clear...

Yes He wants us to walk in the law of His spirit. The fruit of the law of the spirit is LOVE. If you keep his commandments then you love the lord with all your heart and mind and strength and you love your neighbor as yourself. Both of these commandments are not in the Ten commandments but summarise what is most important. The spirit might convict you not to eat sweets or something else personal but the oldness of serving in the letter would never do that.

Christ shows the spirit of the law as mentioned in Matt 5 about lusting in the heart, you already committed the act. But does the spirit remove the letter? If that is the case, we can physically kill someone but say i love you? Makes no sense. If you love, you will manifest the 10 commandments because Christ writes it on your heart

I never said it removed it. The commandment is for the wicked. The spirit brings forth fruit gentleness, kindness, patience love ect so it would not lead you to murder. You see I can become more sensitive to the Spirit so that when I do something that grieves Him I know Ive stepped outside his leading. That is deeper than just what not to do but leads you to DO and walk with him. When they walked with Christ I bet they saw what he did not what he didn't do.

...If one doesn't understand the true essence of the Sabbath, it becomes duty, ceremonial acts,forms of regulations. This is why Paul said the law is spiritual.
In Galatians, Paul was talking of the ceremonial sabbaths which were the feasts, new moons, and ceremonial sabbaths seen in Lev 23 which pointed out the priesthood duties. You can compare Lev 23 with Ex 20:8-11 and see the amazing difference. These are not need to be kept now because the anti-type is here: Christ.

The parable of the 10 Virgins tells us the seal of God. Oil is the seal of God. Oil symbolizes the Holy Spirit who dwells in us and therefore, we produce good fruits. Jesus said that we are the light of the world. What gives us light? The Holy Spirit. Amen!

The sign and seal of the Lord for Christians is the Holy Spirit, not the 7th day Sabbath which was done away by Christ on the cross. The Sabbath was a special sign for Israel and Israel alone, no one else. Ezekiel 20:11-12, 20. The Sabbath was but a type and symbol of the rest God gives to N. T. believers who know Christ as Lord. He is our rest, not a 7th day observance. Jesus gives rest to the soul 24/7..not just one day a week.

The Holy Spirit is the Sealing Agent, not the Seal itself. The Holy Spirit SEALS you. It is the SEALER. REad Ephesians 4:30 and 1:13 again, and compare with 2 Corinthians 3:3. It is very clear that the Spirit is the ink that writes the Law of God in your heart, and the CENTER of that Law is the Sabbath.
The Sabbath was not done away with at the cross. That is a Babylonian, Pagan, Antinomian doctrine that you have been deceived by the Devil with. We are Spiritual Israel.

It just wears me out how you guys cannot see that we are now Israel of the Spirit. The Church. Israel is now realized in the Church, therefore, the Sabbath sign of Sanctification transfers over to the Church. Read Galatians 3:28,29, Matthew 21:43. The Sabbath was to be a sign FOR EVER! (Ex 31:17) This means that Spiritual Israel must carry this sign as well, since it is a sign for ever.
I don't tolerate Baal worshiping, sun-dial dreaming, hermetic dragon antinomians.

@Lysimachus78 What you say is not supported by the Bible. You do that applying the Adventist interpretation. However, since the Church is the NEW Israel by Christ, and that the law is now living in the person of Jesus, Hb 3 and 4 tells us that he is the Sabbath, Jesus. By faith we are now entering the true Sabbath was foretold in the law and the prophets, and was accomplished on the cross and made effective. The true seal of God is the Holy Spirit according the New Covenant.

When I read Hebrews 3 and 4, I do not see ANYWHERE that it says Jesus is the Sabbath. The word for "rest" in Heb 4:1,3,4, 5,8,10, and 11, is "katapausis", which means to "pause", or to "rest". However, the word for "REST" in Hebrews 4:9 is "SABBATISMOS", which means "SABBATH KEEPING". Therefore, Hebrews 4 is NOT saying that Jesus REPLACES the Sabbath. Rather, it is saying that the Seventh-Day Sabbath keeping is an EXPRESSION of our "REST" in Christ. (continued...)

In other words, the "sabbatismos" is the EXPRESSION, or SIGNIFICATION of our "katapausis" in Christ, & this is why Heb 4:9 says "There STILL remains a SABBATH KEEPING to the people of God!". Proof? Heb 4:4 & verse 10 TIES in the "katapausis" rest with the Seventh-Day! Further proof? Verse 8 establishes that the "katapausis" rest in Jesus EVEN existed in Joshua's day, in the OT! So if the "katapausis" also existed in the OT, how on earth can u say it replaces the "sabbatismos"?

@Lysimachus78 Hello! I have no problem with what you explain from the original word. Be careful not to confuse the point that the author tries to develop with the example he uses. I invite you to read Chapter 3 and 4 with Genesis 2, 2 and Ps 95, 7-11. Other thing, the Sabbath in Genesis 2, 2 is not identical to that found in Exodus 20. I'll let you find out why!

My friend the sunday law dont look at the surface. God says this and man says the other. The principle is Gods word vs mans word. Gods way or mans way. Cains sacrifice by His word or Abels sacrifice by Gods word.

Croatia is NOT Europe, and in fact catholics and religions are loosing ground. I visited Europe this year and I tell you that I was pleased to see how anti-religion they are, including catholics. So don't fear the catholics like SDA teach (beat). All these religions will be in museums, including yours. Investigate for your own, not what the pastor tell you. Life is so much bigger than your religion.

I have been a SDA all my life. I was born into it from SDA parents. I was a SDA from my heart , that was all I believed, and like you I was honest with my feelings. I believed that I was part of the special people of god, to spread the gospel until I started questioning things with logic. I was horrified but I was being honest with me. Go back and research HOW this church was born. Study the times and see that this is just one more of many interpretations of the bible. Peace

I have studied the History and it makes sense. A great disappointment just like in the time of the disciples who had the wrong view of Christ's event as a conquering King but were right about the date.
All I know from this is I have never seen the Bible in such an amazing light before by the Spirit of Prophecy which God has given to His remnant church.

well, she is wrong, she said that the SDA church will be persecuted to the mountains and then jesus will come. SDA keep waiting and anticipaiting their persecution. They have been preaching this since EGW came out with this idea. She even thought it was going to happen in her life time. She was WRONG. HUman Rights will be violated and this is just FEAR preaching so you stay in this church.

Yeap! you are right so was Paul. The bible as you may know was put together by a buch of people that decided what stayed and what didn't. In fact, the bible as you know it today is not the same that came out when it first was introduced. Any way, I'm not here trying to convert you to anything, just to give you heads up about researching all these things from yourself.
