  • Yo....what's the first song playin??????

  • This song is a classic and should be on every good slow jam playlist in my opinion! The Foxy Brown w/ Blackstreet version is cool, but it does not top the original by Eugene Wilde!

  • GG

  • I LUV THIS SONG...WONDER WHAT HAPPENED TO EUGENE WILDE....I REALLY MISS GOOD OL MUSIC LIKE THIS.....

  • Download the audio from this tune at tubepull doht cohm.

  • does anyone know the name of the fatman scoop remix where he took this tune, or even the foxy tune? classic tune from my youth and can't find the ID ANYWHERE!

  • @adaryanani BlackStreet ft. Foxy Brown- Gotta Get You Home

  • @MrYoungin211 na im thinking of a different tune

    found it watch?v=jvRkX54qvrs

  • This sond does something to me over and over again!

  • This song sounds similar to Sexual Healing either way I love this song. Always have & I always will love this song

  • @Jsimm100 it does..gives one the same vibe almost..Except this one is more soothing, groovy and more sensual.

  • what about "dont say no tonite"! ? that's the jam too!

  • Just to let the fellows know.....This song will get you laid, everytime.....That's grown folks schooling

  • WOW!!! I LOVED this so much when I was a teenager!!!

  • How is it 26 years later that this is still the jam!?!?!??!?!?

  • back in the day

  • THIS IS MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dont never ever ever let another rapper get a hold of this classic song! LEAVE IT ALONE!!

  • @rednae75 Blackstreet and Foxy Brown did good, but it's not as good as the original.

  • @leroy592 True, I admit I did like the tune when I was younger, but true the original is the best. Sometimes some old skool jams like this by great singers.. i.e Luther, Teddy P,Gerald Levert, O'Jays, etc should be off limits to rappers that degrade it with using explicit lyrics..

  • nice song

  • ah! this is where foxy got the melody from! classic shit!

  • damn i want my Gerri curl back!

  • @vampyr69 lol.....im hip....lmbo.

  • LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song, but the video for it is SO whack! :D

  • This is a classic but does anyone else think it sounds suspiciously like 'Sexual Healing'? I have always thought EW had the Marvin tune in mind when he wrote this, right down to the production and vocal delivery. They must have come out@a similar time...

  • Sexayyy!!!!!!!

  • Can you shed a tear... love this song

  • I love the song and the video. its so sexy!!

  • I haven't seen the video in YEARS!! Wow!

  • I have never seen this video before; my brother recommended I watch this video. Wow its pretty cool he has a great voice. I also love the fact that you post information about the artist in the side bar. Thanks for putting this video on YT :-D

  • Love it...old times brings me happiness

  • @samonimoni i agree...makes me wanna go back to the 80s.

  • One of my all time favorite songs. It touched my heart. He sang it in such away that just captured me. OLD SCHOOL

  • this joint is always a classic and I was diggin the Foxy Brown version but it could never top the original,I mean its a different era so u know 80s the best,no doubt..listen to the music and the lyrics, its incredible..this is real house party music for real,my Pops had a bar in the crib and so did my Aunt,so I mean this was continous played groove

  • YES!! i love this song got some w/ a girl when i played this song in the back ground

  • argh! is nothing original? Back in the 90's I thought this was a Blackstreet/Foxy Brown original...it was too tight to be their own...I shoulda known it was a bite!!!

  • @jordiekjo Hope you don't stop liking the original. When Hip-Hop a started we didn't know how to play the piano, play drums, so we got what we could and made remade it in our own way. We shouldn't be ashamed of it. We have enough originals as a Culture to be proud of ourselves :).

  • @jordiekjo Thats one of the disadvantages of being 'new skool' rather than 'old skool'! I remember when dis type of music used to jam on the r and b stations! This type of music co-existed with the beginning of hip-hop/rap.

  • One of my very favorites!

  • eugene wilde sexy and sweet. i really miss music and artists like this.

  • ill na naa lol

  • DROOLIN over the hotty @ 3:08 :)

  • Yeah! still sounds muffled.

  • the recording on this song isn't very well and it sound muffled.

  • It didn't just come out last week,it's a classic groove.Older recording means older quality.

  • shifragri I can't beleieve this! No Black Women! That looks a little weird. I don't now why :)

  • Are you trying to be funny?

  • I liked this song back in the day, however, I remember during the 1980s black male recording artists rarely had or had limited numbers of black women in their videos. Which was really stupid being that black women were the ones buying their records.

  • Black male artists in the 1980's always or almost always had mainly white women in their videos to get the videos on MTV because black artists did'nt get that chance back then with the exception of Michael Jackson, Prince, Lionel Richie, and Stevie Wonder. None of those artists had white women as leads in their videos, but Ray Parker Jr. did ("The Other Woman" and "Ghostbusters"). One of his videos was banned in the states as a result and forced him to make a second one for black fans.

  • Dude I know this, go an educate someone else. My previous comments still stand.

  • To the jerk that (-) me, I'm just stating facts about the past and educating those young ppl or those that don't know about how music videos were done in the 80's. It was alot more classy and real, but promotions based race and skin color was a price. That was reality. If you can't handle the fact then go to hell.

  • I did'nt know..Ok? I am educating those who are questioning why. Its not all about you.

  • This song is one of the best

  • I loooove this song!!!!! It's one of those songs if you have a serious love jones for a girl or woman, you would play this song to.

  • such an incredible song lol@the dancing women behind him soo random gotta love the oldies tho!1

  • He did this song too. I didn't know. Wonderful love song with a little funk. I know he sings Don't Say No Tonight. I thought this song was done by the Commodores. AM1070 WDIA Memphis plays classics like these

  • Classic tune an oldschool tune the radio seldom plays

  • I love this song!

  • This is what music is all about. Beautiful. i love it

  • good god this was 4 years before i was born. I'm adding this to my iPod. good stuff here.

  • Gotta Get You Home With Me TONIGHT. I Choose You TONIGHT. How About TONIGHT. Don't Say No TONIGHT. Eugene Wilde was appropriately named. All of his songs seem to be about getting some TONIGHT.

  • this shoulda been Vice City 105 da fever. hell yea! what a song to ride to on there.

  • hey this is my uncle but we dont call him uncle Eugene we call him uncle rony ( hey uncle rony this is aliyah or if you prefer to call me burl burl . yea well i hope you read this comment .{peace}

  • Tell your uncle Joyce said "Thanks for some great music and great memories." I used to sit at my security guard post and groove to this back in the day.

Sweet music...Your uncle, The Temptations, Kashif, Stevie Wonder......

  • i love it

  • is it just me or is this the same music to Dont Say No Tonight? no wonder he disappeared, ran out of material

  • That does I I cannot believe I found this song let alone this video thank you soooo much for posting it!

  • Ok I gotta really hard one now. Recorded in 1985 by a group by the name of "CashFlo" or "Cash Flow". The song is a slo-jam I think the title is "Reaching out" the lyrics go like: [intro] "and lady....lady...(pause) reach out and hold me, then...there's no, there's no better. I never held you before. But in this warm, in this warm embrace, I can tell the time is right...by the look in your face..Lady ....I'm reaching out for you. Reach out and hold my...hand..." I can't remember much else.

  • Does anybody know who's the blonde actress wearing a white headband, red shirt & black leotard? (2:14-2:35) She's HOT!

  • Classic...

It's timeless. The fact that Foxy Brown used it later as a sample is a tesatment to that.

    Uh-Oh Uh-Oh! LOL!

  • hey uncle

  • o cuz i did not know you posted a comment to

  • This song came out in'84. I was working as a guard for NYC/HPD in downtown NYC during the summer. I couldn't wait for KISS and 'BLS to play this jam. I wpuld listen to my walkman during my lunchbreak to this jam. Also hot that summer--Kashif and the Temptations "Treat her like a Lady and My love is true (truly for you)." I was a mere 21 and this was MY JAM!!!!!.

  • this song came out in 85 not 89

  • holy crap.

I always thought Freddie Jackson sang this song.

    Great slow jam, tho.

  • The 70s and the 80s had the best rock n roll and the best r&b hands down.

  • Disagree, it was actually the mid to late 80's IMO.

  • This song is timeless sounds just as good as it did 23 years ago.

  • Could someone tell me what the first song is playing before Gotta get you home? Thanks

  • i think it's a eugene wilde track as well.. got this album but i ain't home to check if the first track is on it as well

  • That track is Lately, the first track off his '84 self titled album!

I was 11 when I first heard this version. Still reigns supreme...

  • Cool!

  • Haha! Look at that hair. Yeah this was the jam. It still is!

  • 1st time I heard this song entire. It makes me think a lil bit about 'Sexual Healing' especially from 03:03 to 03:50..same concords

  • I'm 23 and i sposei been listening to this song ever since i was alive... i never get tired of this song, and still get goose pimples each time i hear it!!! I can't even listen to music these days and feel like that. Damn i wish i was alot older when these choos were out!!!!

  • What kind of word is sposei and choos?

  • Take out the word SPOSEI.... i don't even know why i wrote that it don't make sense.... CHOOS was suppose to mean CHOONS as in TUNES... I need to stop with the slang...

  • A classic.. when heard will always take you back instantly, this is what the 80's was about

  • this was music dang i wish i could go back

  • thats my shit !!!!!

i was almost a teen back then.....

the radio stations use to jam this to the " Quiet Storm!!..

BACK THEN A NIGGA WOULD FALLL IN REAL LOVE BACK THEN...

  • Nice mellow beats.

  • ah it's Carlton from fresh prince! no seriously tune!! shame about the quality! x

  • oohhh baby..gotta get u home wit me 2nite...

    aaaahhhhhh

kick of ur shoes lay back let me soothe u i wanna take my time and do it rite...

    love it!!

  • i go diee ooooohhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oldies that never dies. he is great.det är sa Romantic att jag lungnar varj gång jag lysnna på låten

  • foxy brown sampled this song in the 90s

she did a good job making a remix

  • Thats tru. That Reggae song (don't kno the name of the song, but they played it soo many times in the clubs in Hampton Roads, VA) ruined it!

For fans of Eugene Wilde, there are some very rare videos of him in the early 1980s avaiable on youtube (with LA Voyage and his brother, Aaron Broofield).

  • she sure made a good sample of it .. but u just cant beat the original and the best. ;-)

  • actually, teddy riley created the remix, but i agree it was a good song

  • his other song, "don't say no tonight" had the same background music. still love the song.

  • end of this song gives me chill-bumps!

  • in 84? that would have made me 6

  • looks fine to i love this songgggggggg

  • Thats awesome 5 stars

  • bad sound quality

  • Videos thats been taped over 20 years ago is great (pic is better and color and stuff brighter). Although sound is'nt remastered, this is the closest to a good Eugene Wilde video we can get because this video is extremely rare. Thank god for sven1986!

  • thats great. it's still unbearable to watch due to the bad sound quality.

  • This song was released in 1984. I always thought he had a pleasant voice with good range. He just could not get good producers and songwriters. He can still make it if he can get some backing.

  • This takes me back to my teen years. My older sister had Wilde's tape with "Don't Say No Tonight" on it, and it was one of my favorites. I remember when this song got a lot of radio airplay. The 80's were a great time to be alive, and music like this reminds me of those days. LONG LIVE THE 80'S!!!!

  • check my vids i just posted "dont say no"

  • this song along, with "dont say no tonight" "weve only just begun" by glenn jones and "tasty love" by freddie jackson remind me just how good r&b music used to be.

  • its amazing how we just go to the clubs dancing to these tune without knowing their humble origins

    fantastic

  • Here i am hurting my eye-balls just to admire these beautiful women in this video. It's all worth it though. Eugene Wilde sung this song for me too in the feeling of the mood of "getting a pretty woman home with me by any means necessary". Bless the women of the world.

  • look at his curl-very good song foxy brown remade.

  • Very under-rated artist! Could have been the Marvin Gaye of the 80's if the record company he was signed with didn't go bust. I have all 3 of his solo albums! "Don't Say No", Gotta Get You Home" and "Diana" were his best tunes!

  • Does anyone have the music video for "Diana" by Eugene Wilde?

  • "30 Minutes To Talk" is back up!

  • Everybody Eugene Wilde gotta myspace check it out he even got Diana (my fav EW song)on there myspacecom/eugenewildeofficialpage brings back alot of memories

  • I've seen a different video from this one but sings the same song.

  • 1985 defineately had some of the greatest songs in the history of mankind..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I don talk am...

  • elle est trop belle cette chanson.

  • "Gotta Get You Home With Me Tonight" and Don't Say No Tonight" both went all the way to #1 on Billboard's R&B chart.
