@hipofalcon I finished the 60/30 this past weekend. It blows everything else I've built out of the water previous. Today was overcast. With my other solar cookers I would not have considered whole potatoes, this one cooked unbelievably. Easily this could become my main oven on any day w/a shadow. When the sun doesn't shine I'll eat leftovers I'm cooking/storing for the week. Each cooker type has an area where they shine. This is really close to a standard oven equivalent.
@Sohave - go and build one - or two! If you want the plans, just send me an emails at mamodbasher(at)gmail(dot)com and I will send you the documents for construction - simple and one of the "greenest" things you can do! Ken.
i got 2 solar box ovens small and big plus come cook it panel cooker they work great. Now what did you use on you reflector. I use a Mylar space blanket alum. foil and a car shade all work good but i like yours nice and smooth . check mine out at [ rjburg ]
@RJBURG - I use Mylar 2 mm sheet from a greenhouse supply firm. It is fastened with Elmer's spray glue. It's over 2 years now and still works great! Ken.
@RJBURG - my oven reached a high in August of 376F - not bad! Use the clear Mylar and you will be amazed at the temperatures that you can reach. Ken.
I've not thought about wrapping the chicken in foil. What would you think the difference between that method and cooking a chicken breast in a sealed jar in bbq sauce be. (I'm using my panel cooker.)
btw... did you build the box cooker you are using?
@c33r0k33 - yes, this is a home-made oven called a "60/30". If you would like plans and parts (N/C of course), send me a personal email to mamodbasher(at)gmial(dot)com and I will send you the info. Ken.

@windandsun68 - I had seen this done, but not sure about how you would get the food in and out? Keep me posted if you do it! Ken.
