@lagrandcour you can use any acoustic amp. I'm using a crate in this vid, but I'm now using a Marshall AS50

@ariakiss it could be out of tune, but it could be the combination of bad vid quality and the effects I'm using thru the amp. I have no clue, but something is off

it is an awesome guitar. when i first got it i used it w/ an amp only b/c i was afraid i'd lose my effects. now i run it thru a DI and it work and sounds just the same if not better actually.

It's cool that you posted a vid of the KOA Montage. I have one also and think its a great guitar. I may need to sell it though if anyone is interested. It's pristine.

I have to agree with the other posters, your guitar is not in tune. I noticed it immediately and it is definitely not the camera or amp. No need to defend your playing, it's just simply out of tune.

haha, yep it's out of tune. i had just gotten it and was so taken in by it's beauty and didnt' think about sound...i just changed those strings but hated to, b/c it was just now staying in tune everytime i picked it up. i really stretched those new strings out good

depends on when you bought it. i got mine aug. of last year and was told that was all that was being produced..period. 145. but i don't believe nothing was ever numbered inside the guitar..maybe they started producing them again. if you check out the ibanez website under montage, you'll notice there's no koa body listed..they're discontinued

mine doesn't stay in tune quite as well as some of my other guitars, but it is a GREAT guitar. it doesn't get too far out of tune from time to time. just a little tweeking

ah, all you need is a little graphite, put em' in the strings nut, and get new strings. the action is too high for my liking, so im getting mine ajusted pretty low, and getting lighter strings.

yeah, lighter strings would be great, esp. for the more electric side of the guitar. i'm afraid to lower the strings b/c of fret buzz

ah, the 2nd to last string always cant be pushed down hard enough, so, im lowering the strings pretty damn low.

yes ! every video.. but i dont know , maybe it`s some effekt.. dissonating g and high e string. at open string when other strings pushin upper on neck..but open em chord keep tuned..?

you mean every video on youtube? mine sounded fine in person. maybe something to do w/ the way the chorus and reverb effect is translated through the upload process. i wouldn' t have posted or made a vid had it been noticably out of tune

yes it does affect sound. you may can google what exactly the settings are for. i'm def. not an expert

that's an equalizer for hi, mid and low sounds. and the other is just a notch filter to create a diff. sound. this guitar has some many combos of sounds

it's an equalizer. u can boost the volume on hi, mid and low sounds of the guitar

Sorry; it's actually around 3:04 and your finishing the chord going from the top down and you hit the A string - that's the one out of tune. Peace.

yep, saw the same vid. the good Lord helped me out on this one. i had a different finish on order and just kept checking on line everyday to see if a Koa came in. 2 people got tired of waiting and cancelled their order and so i was able to get on of them. lol. God is good all the time

Not knockin' you, but I have to agree with everyone regarding the tuning. I don't have perfect pitch, but when knew it was out of tune as soon as you started playing. Check your video around three minutes in - listen to your low E string. The sound really has nothing to do with your cam. Very nice guitar! Peace!

I think the sound both amped and un amped is very nice for a guitar in it's price range. Am really looking forward to getting it.

awesome! you're probably gonna have a picture painted in your mind about it and when you get you'll be like "hmm, different than i expected". at least that' what i did. lol. the battery life is pretty good. it takes AA's which is good. you'll know when they go bad b/c your amp will click like a metronome. took me forever to realize it was my batteries. but congrats on the purchase

Do you know whether or not to use a stompbox for an acoustic guitar live? I play for my youth band.

not sure. you probably wouldn't need a stompbox. it has all of the onboard effects necessary. would probably work better if you went thru an electric amp instead of the acoustic amp i use. would probably get better effects
