  • I wish I could become a kid again, so I could enjoy this series even more.

  • Batman's pole is thicker.....

    OK - I couldn't resist writing that.

    Sorry.

  • It's not how big the pole it is but how your use it.

  • I never realized Batman's pole was bigger than Robin's. Perhaps a backstage joke.

  • I think it is kind of creepy that when Robin wasn't looking Alfred started to brush up and down his pole.

  • Good ol' Alfred.

  • ive never understood why they're in their batman and robin costumes when they reach the bottom haha

  • @jhibbitt1 I believe on the way down they hit a 'Bat Costume' button. (*Not joking*) It was in an episode I watched.

  • Perchè Batman ha un palo più grosso di Robin ? Che sia un messaggio subliminale ? :-P

  • know knows this but the real name of the poles were the bat stripe poles

  • if you wanna see batman nostalgia of this calibur download Batman_ Return to the Batcave The Misadventures of Adam and Burt

  • @MultiKyle666 haha, my dad has that oin Dvd, I love watching it!!

  • I have signs all over my house like that. In fact my computer here is in....wait, let me see.....okay, it's in the master bedroom. I'm just glad the butler didn't take down the sign to paint my house or I wouldn't have any idea which room I'm in. I just drank a cup of coffee too. I hope the sign for the bathroom is up.

  • What always puzzled me at the time was that the poles were never used in the comics, at least, not in any that I had, Batman, Robin and all the other superheroes just put the costume on there on the spot in the mags, Superman used the odd phone booth now and again of course :D ;) but there was no need for any of the them to use poles, I can only presume it was because the costumes, make up etc, took hours to get into, so I presume the poles were a bit of a gap filler gimmick between times.

  • @proff180 They featured in a Batman strip in a British 60s comic called "Smash" that I read as a kid, except that in this strip they weren't Bat-poles but Bat-ropes! It rather puzzled me why they were never used in the DC comics strip!

  • i'd laugh my ass off if they wound up in the wrong costumes because they took the wrong poles.

  • @Artisan1979 Me too

  • Batman's Pole is thicker than Robin's..Inside Joke?

  • @Elfan1965 Well his is a grown man.

  • Hey I dint see this scene in the original episode.......

    May be I missed : (

  • Why were there signs at the Batpoles anyway? Bruce, Dick and Alfred were supposed to be the only people in the world who knew anything about them, the Batcave or anything.

  • There were innuendos flying all the time if you could pick them up. Robin's pole was smaller because he was the "feminine" player in the relationship, always submissive to the larger protector, Batman. This was arguably the first "gay" show on television!

  • this was my favorite episode, cause the way they got back at the joker was classic. wish you could post that part as well... thanks.

  • LOL!!!

  • Batman has a bigger pole

  • lol "Quick1 To the BAT-POLE!' why the BAT-pole?

  • How did he know it was the joker ? It could have been the riddler, and a actually the riddler laughed more than the joker.

  • Robin's pole is smaller .... hehe

  • Why, oh why, couldn't they have just made both poles the same size? That looks, well, awkward...

  • if everyone made sure that nothin looked awkward, then we would only have miley cyrus and fred vids to watch, and who wants that?

  • Good old Alfred

  • I always wanted to do a Batman 40 years later. Bruce is broke from spending his fortune on crime fighting, Robin has turned fowl mouth, all the arch villans have all gone strate except catwoman, and batman has gone senile. It would be verry funny especialy lines like. Cat woman "my female pit bulls will tare you apart." Robin "Holy Bitch BATMAN!"

  • Batman is probably not the only man you always wanted to do.

  • @1871bismarck. You're sick!

  • They should have a public argument on whose pole is bigger. Now robin we'll compare pole sizes at home *joker* O_o

  • Nice coat of paint on the batpoles came out nicely rip Alfred

  • Well according to Burt Ward's autobiography, Robin had the larger pole. It was not uncommon for the costumers to have a sock or wad of Kleenex for ol' Batman.

  • lol. i don't think that was a play on words. if you look at the poles the one bruce slides down is bigger.

  • A bigger pole for the bigger guy, eh?

  • They should have had a bat-pole joke for every episode, just like the Simpsons and the coach in front of the TV moment.

  • hahdidck can be so stupid but funny wait a minute what am i saying !!! this show rocks!!!!

  • I think the same of you! Why this show is so fuckin' great? At the same time it's so ridiculous! Hahaha, good T.V. times!

  • WOW I never noticed the size of the poles thats pretty cool

  • O_o That's just wrong

  • Bruce is trying to compensate for something...

  • do you think bruce was compensating?

  • For those who don't know, the whole thing with the missing signs pays off in the second part of this episode, when the Joker invades Wayne Manor and discovers the secret Bat-poles...but because they're not labled as usual, he never guesses that they lead to the Batcave.

  • Not to mention Joker doesn't figure out the secret identities. :-)

  • rofl thanks for the explanation i wasn't getting that

  • @ImBatfan its genius, quite simply amazing. hats off to the writers.

  • @ImBatfan To quote Robin, "Good ol' Alfred." XDD

And agreed with morningglorly, as well.

  • @ImBatfan But wait, where the hell ELSE would they lead to?

  • Adam Used to tell Burt ... When your older Burt you'll have a bigger pole.

  • LOL!!!!

  • @drobushi ...ewwww

  • @drobushi ha!

  • @drobushi "Adam Used to tell Burt ... When your older Burt you'll have a bigger pole."....<---LMFFAO!!!!!!!!!

  • @drobushi Darn drobushi, you got there before me ...two years before! : )

  • @drobushi That's hilarious XD

  • HAHA I love this show.

  • LoL Yes because an aged old English butler does have the strength and agility to paint two seemingly very long poles sparkling gold...I love this show. I do admit it freely.

  • A bit of Bat-trivia for you die hard Batman fans! Did you know that the exterior shots of the home were once a faternity house in LA? Also, did you know that after his divorce from Heather Mills,ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney bought this house and it is his US residence? It's true.

  • The house is in Pasadena. Never heard that it was once a fraternity, but I doubt it. That Paul McCartney owns it is an urban legend that's been around for a few years even before McCartney and Mills were involved.

  • Ahhh... so "Laughing Man" is a clever code for "The Joker." Nobody would have EVER picked up on that!

  • exactly... but it fits well to the campiness of the show... which is the point!

  • He didn't tell anyone but Aunt Harriet so I can buy her not getting it

  • its weird how close their faces come each others.memorized by the thickness of each pole

  • I've never payed much attention to the thickness of the poles... amazing eye you have.

  • I noticed that too. The size may mean something...

  • lol bigger pole for bigger role

  • Ha! And who says size doesn't count??

  • Ha-ha! :p

  • My wife.

  • Nothing like a bit of Batman to start off your day.
