I had crashed out one early evening last week. I awoke to this song, so gently, playing on Radio 4. In my half-sleep, I thought it was the most beautiful lullaby from a wind-up music box. Now that I'm awake, I still do :).
The older the better.....shall we ever find a defect in him ? he's enchanting me as he was enchanting my mother ... and I never, ever, get tired of listening to his voice...and to all the feelings he's expressing
Thank you Mr. Cohen, Thank you Leonard...you've given and still give us so much beauty and shared so generously your own feelings...
I'm moved by beautiful music, but hearing this live in Sydney was one of the most memorable experiences of my life, as was the whole concert - If Leonard and the girls ever read these comments, then thank you sincerely.
I saw LC last night at Red Rocks... such an amazing evening. This song brought tears to my eyes as I thought about my father you passed away this time last year.
I was lucky enough to see LC in Birmingham. The whole concert was breathtaking but, stunning though the man himself was, this stood out as a dazzling light. Two of the purest voices I've ever heard. Thank you for posting this.
If it be your will That a voice be true From this broken hill I will sing to you From this broken hill All your praises they shall ring If it be your will To let me sing From this broken hill All your praises they shall ring If it be your will To let me sing
thanks for this grea video Maartan, I was there and met you in the Troubadour... I just wanted a bit of nostalgia about the tour so watched some vids this evening, this is a great one. Thanks again Bernadine
Went with my two sons Oli and Jools on the 18th November, certainly his last concert in Royal Alber Hall London. Here he is with two of his angels singing. There are no words to describe the evening except to say - A thousand kisses deep - thy goodness surely thee will reap - a thousand kisses deep. Roger- London
went alone in the famous "l'olympia", paris, november (with our Président and his wife!) but I'm happy to get this video to share these unforgettable moments with my friends and dear daughter, Laura. Thank for your very beautiful, true and sincerraly comment.
it was a remarkable evening, it more than exceeded my expectations, an emotional and exhilarating evening, what a guy. Thanks for this footage, please post some more!!!
Wonderful! I was there and, considering Leonard's age etc. this was, for me,one of the most memorable and poignant moments of the whole evening. Thanks for the opportunity to share it with others.
Voices so perfectly tuned to each other.
The song is pretty good as well.
Thank you.

I saw Mr Cohen perform in Auckland, New Zealand a couple of years ago.
When the Webb Sisters sung this it was as if God had sent a couple of angels to Earth. Absolutely amazing!!

is it possible their voices are too sweet...?
well, Leonard gives the world so many different gifts..maybe these two are an antidote to the times.
I prefer Perla and Julie

si ese es tu deseo,
si hay la oportunidad:
deja al río fluir,
deja a los montes regocijarse,
deja derramarse tu generosidad
en todos los dolientes corazones en el infierno.
si es tu deseo
... encontrarnos bien
y traernos cerca
y unirnos fuerte.

Now they're touring with a megastar like Cohen, let's hope these fabulous musicians get some of the recognition and acclaim they so richly deserve.

In their rags of light

Went on Tuesday to the RAH.
Cohen was absolutely amazing with his "cheerfulness shining through". So was his voice....and all the backing musicians.
"If It Be Your Will" from the Webb Sisters was very moving.
Is anyone producing a proper DVD of one of shows from this 2008 tour?
