First time listening to this band and I have mixed feelings about them. On one hand they're such spin off of one of my favorite bands BUT it is pretty fucking good. Since Jon chose to take himself out of the picture I think I will start listening to thulcandra because it is a style of metal I thoroughly enjoy.

@CanadianReich I took your advice and I looked up Bahal. Damn Bahal is even better. More range than Thulcandra. A little more creative and moodier too. Thanks for the post.

These guys are fucking brilliant!! Yes they sound like dissection and that was the point. They wanted to bring back the original sound of the Sweedish black/death era.

So if you think about it its not that they ripped off Dissection. Its more that they are paying homage to Jon Nodviegt for paving the way of this unique sound. And they have their own sound as well. Definitly one of my new faves.

I don't even care how much this sounds like Dissection, because Dissection hasn't made music like this since Storm of the Light's Bane, and unfortunately, never will.

@LordRumpusaurus are you forgetting Reinkaos? which released in 2006? It wasn't a true Dissection album, but it was still a good Dissection album.
