when i went to the toronto zoo a week or two ago it was really, really hot out, one of the polar bears was lying in a little cave just off the water and he or she or watever literally looked like it was dying... :(

I like Polar Bears especially since I have to be a coach for a kids swim team with that uses the animal as our team name and mascot. Polar Bears rock and look cute but also are warriors too.

@alysonstoner81193 At least it's safe and polar bears don't have to protect themselves, plus most of the times (different times of the day and summer) I have gone to the zoo, the polar bears don't seem to mind since they sleep a LOT.

Thanks to Cute Knut of Berlin Zoo fame I have become a big polar bear fan. The researchers are finding them to be as intelligent as the great apes and emotinally complex. This polar bear seems to like the attention as do most of the polar bears in the zoo settings.

theirs a underground place to observe them while they swim in a pool

the polar bear was doing laps, it would swim around the pool it was in, swim up to the glass, brush its nose against the window, turn around kick off and swim away, dip out of the pool and repeat over and over

Bis! How fun the way they can just submerge head without squinching eyes shut and holding nose! These lovely animals are almost "amphibian"! I have to say that if one of those lovely creatures held out its arms to me, I would run right into them, not caring if I would end up a snack or not!
