Take a look at the shot of Haruhi dragging Kyon down the hallway while the camera spins around. Pretty sure that's right out of the first couple episodes, albeit with the comic-book effects over it.

I mentioned Eden of the East because its OP is "Falling Down" by Oasis--a song that is very much in English. (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex has OPs that are either in English, Russian, or both depending on the season.) So it's not unheard of for anime to have English-langage openings.
