Unless Morimoto and Koji Kondo start selling official Super Mario sheet music, band nerds like me have to do this by EAR.

And especially the bass parts that are really hard to hear. I used to go so far as to try and transcribe barbershop quartet into the original four parts by ear. Eventually, without sound isolating software it's almost impossible.
