@TheDCVerse I always liked the look of it. Especially since the show had more money to work with.
That thing we saw before the future Superman was revealed, what was his name in the comics? I know he had something to do with one of those Crisis events.
Hahaha, I thinking of Brainiac 5 because of what they did with him in the LOSH toon.
@Lencho01 Oh, yeah! I remember he programmed that simulation with him and Superman. Very suggestive. I still think that show deserved a third season. It was good fun.
@TheDCVerse Hahaha. When he "died" in his arms right. That was great!
I was so sad when they canceled it. If we could get Young Justice, maybe we'll get a new LOSH toon with this DC Nation block they're going to do on Cartoon Network.
@Lencho01 The rest of the team mocking him was brilliant.
I would really love to see a new Legion cartoon either based on an earlier era (the Levitz era specifically) or even a Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes show would be very exciting.
@Lencho01 The one with Superman? Hell yes it is! I loved that episode. Immediately after it was over, I decided it was my favorite episode of all time. Just so brilliant. Every second of that episode had me grinning like a kid. Silver Age Superman, wacky Jimmy transformations, Red Kryptonite, Krypto, Brainiac! It has it all.
@TheDCVerse Dude, I was smiling for the entire episode. The references to past comics and old crazy stories and Superman Dickery were great. I loved the part where Lois cut Jimmy off. I'm so happy that Johns was able to help them get the rights to Superman. I was actually worried about the episode because of the plot description I read from TV Guide. I thought it was going to be another "Superman goes evil and Batman beats him because he's sooooo awesome" type of think.
@Lencho01 Yeah, I thought the same thing. I was amped up for the episode, but preparing to groan at yet another Batman love-in with Superman being treated like a wimp. So not the case, and that was really exciting. I sincerely hope we actually get to see something with Brainiac in his next appearance to make up for that rather mean tease at the end.
@Lencho01 And declaring himself King Superman? Genius. Right out of the Swan era. And that joke about all the "love schemes" Lois has pulled? Amazing. Brainiac even had his monkey with him!
Yeah, I believe they have a solo Wonder Woman episode, then a Trinity episode. Even if it isn't written as such, I'm inclined to think CN might air the Trinity episode as the actual series finale instead of whatever is written as such. Both James and Michael told me that they have a "crazy finale" planned.
@Lencho01 Oh, and I forgot about Jimmy trying to trick Superman into revealing his identity in the beginning. So great. And Superman actually saying "Up, up and away!" had me grinning.
The show has already done episodes that made me think, "No way can they get crazier or more out of control than that", only to be proven wrong. Hope the finale is as crazy as it gets, and they really just blow the roof off.
@TheDCVerse I wasn't even expecting that. Super ventriloquism. Hahaha. And Batman still being able to wear the Superman mask even though his mask has ears.
And I was annoyed of him at first, but I grew to love it. Just had to get used to that version of him. I just love how he loves adventure and looks at everything as another great story to tell someone later on.
@Lencho01 I about died when they busted out the Super-Ventriloquism.
That's the best part about their Aquaman. He's so unique to their universe. I wouldn't be surprised to see variations on that personality find its way to comic Aquaman in the next several years.
@TheDCVerse They should do that in the new Superman film. Remember how weirded out Robin was when Superman talked like Batman when Brainiac was using him?
And kids would likely get into it since that's the version they're pretty much growing up on for now.
@Lencho01 I hope Snyder goes all out with the powers and gives him every power he's ever shown in the comics. Just go crazy. I wanna see a Superman onscreen who is actually super, not just kinda strong.
@TheDCVerse I'd also like to see him be smart. I really liked that aspect of him in Superman: Doomsday and All-Star Superman.
Have you see the GL footage? I really hated the first trailer and the film they were selling with that. I liked what I saw this time. I still don't like the suit, though.
@Lencho01 Really enjoyed the new footage. Looks fantastic. The first trailer was cool, but it was far too jokey and basically punchline after punchline. The WonderCon footage was funny in the right way. Ryan is always a joy.
@TheDCVerse It felt like they were trying too hard to sell him as if he were like Tony Stark. This time the comedy works in the context of what we see and how Hal is just using it to feel a little better about the situation. I still see Ryan instead of Hal when I watch it, though. That's what I don't like about the casting. I'm one of those guys who wanted Nathan Fillion in the role. Though, I liked the idea of Bradley Cooper in the role and Ryan as Flash. I'm fine if the roles are reversed.
@Lencho01 Ideally, it should have been Nathan as Hal and Ryan as Wally. Then the ultimate, dream on fanboy because it won't happen fantasy of a Wally/Hal team-up movie with Nathan and Ryan together. Closest we'll ever get now to Nathan playing Hal is the Emerald Knights movie.
@Lencho01 Really not getting that part. This Nolan logic of "realistic Batman not working in JLA" is quite stupid, if you ask me. Anything can work in any universe if you present it in the right way. Just sounds short-sighted to me. All that really does is open the floodgates for more people shouting, "Welling/Routh for Superman!", which we know they won't do.
And besides, we were all here four years ago when they tried JLA. That didn't work, so I doubt it will this time.
@TheDCVerse Well, I can't imagine Supes or GL popping up right next to Nolanbat. So, I'm fine with JLA not using him. I'd like something more like the DCAU Batman. Sounds like Nolan's film ends in such a way that WB has to reboot. Why not spin-off the new Batman out of JLA?
It's the Supes and GL stuff I have issue with. I assumed GL would be the beginning of the DC Film Universe and I don't see why the new Supes can't be part of it. Unless there's a Supes-less JLA due to the court case.
@Lencho01 It's very wasteful. You're setting up a perfectly fine movie universe here with GL, which logic says culminates in the Justice League, and you're just going to ignore it. I don't exactly like how Marvel is handling it with Avengers, but at least they're keeping the movies slightly in line with each other.
@TheDCVerse From a business stand point, there may be no need for a JLA. If they push hard with the marketing with GL to be big like BB/TDK/TDKR, and pull that off with Flash, Supes, and WW, they'd be in a better position than Marvel. The DC films are pretty much replacing Harry Potter as their go-to tent pole films. Stretching it out would instead of going for a team up could make them a lot of money. Even so, I think they want to see the reaction to GL. If good, they'll connect it for sure.
@Lencho01 A very valid point. As much as fanboys would squeal over JLA, I have to agree with you here. I think you could easily just do solo films for the next ten years and pull in a crazy amount of cash. There's so many stories you can tell, you could literally go on forever.
@TheDCVerse They could also be setting up some sort of Multiverse. That would be interesting to see. Like just have the idea of different universes existing, but never going that much into like some sort of Crisis event. Kind of like what they did with the new Star Trek.
@Lencho01 Oh, now that would be pretty spectacular. A movie multiverse actually gives them a lot of freedom, now that you mention it. Hope something similar comes out of that.

@dynomitis Haha. I hope so. I really would like to see the Legion gain enough popularity to get their own movie.

Awesome. I really liked Eradicator using his super speed to take out those guys. Loved the use of the Smallville Phantom Zone portal opening.
"We've met... or.. we will... or... we're the same. Y'know" Hahaha.
Superman's face at the end. Priceless.
Lencho01 11 months ago
@Lencho01 Creating a Phantom Zone portal was tough. Really tough. So cheating and using the SV version from Arrival was a relief.
Dig that line. Brian hit the beat perfectly. And you know, a Saturn Girl/Superman ship, not a bad idea. Haha. :)

@Lencho01 Yes, indeed. The Anti-Monitor. That wasn't the last you'll see of him this season.
What did they do with Brainy? I don't quite recall.
TheDCVerse 11 months ago
@TheDCVerse Cool. Thanks.
They pretty much hinted at Brainy being such as fan of Superman that he secretly loved him. I think everyone knew, but didn't say anything about it.

@TheDCVerse Yep.
I think I'd rather see a regular Legion toon just to see how they would do without any sort of Superman/boy.
Have you seen the latest episode of Brave & the Bold. It's so awesome!

@TheDCVerse I loved how he just laughed at everything Batman did. And that reference to the final Superman/Darkseid fight in JLU was nice.
It would be nice to see that version of Brainiac again.
It was long ago before CN started showing no love to TBATB, but I think I read there will be a WW episode and then a Trinity episode.

@TheDCVerse Oh, O also loved how Lex was fat. You don't get to see that very often.
I hope they have Aquaman say how outrageous the episode is.
Lencho01 11 months ago
@Lencho01 Nope. He was total Silver Age Lex Luthor, all the way. Kryptonite ring was great, as well.
I just can't help but love their version of Aquaman. He's so silly and absurd, I just adore him.

@TheDCVerse That would've been great to see. We also have that awesome fanmade trailer. That thing raised my expectations of the actual film so much.
