The banks are all interconnected through the bank of international settlements. Which is fine--countries need central banks--but they need to put the old regulations back in place. Having the currency backed by gold ensures stability because the only way gold can be made is in a supernova, and then mined out of the earth. A gold-backed currency would slowly increase in value over time, because there is a set amount on Earth. 2. It's not as useful as a fuel source, it's more intended as a lubricant, for instance it has great use in Northern areas because its freezing point is lower, so you have more guarentee in a snow storm that your car will start.

The banks are all interconnected through the bank of international settlements. Which is fine--countries need central banks--but they need to put the old regulations back in place. They took the regulations away and then the bankers started gambling. That's unacceptable given that we NEED our banking system. It is where 95% of money is created.

They could start tampering with our economy. It's the same problem as the FED: a tiny group of people holding the strings of the economy. The FED should be democratized like Ron Paul wants to do. Give control back to congress where it belongs. Make it transparent. As for something backing up the supply, it doesn't matter.

Having the currency backed by gold ensures stability because the only way gold can be made is in a supernova, and then mined out of the earth. A gold-backed currency would slowly increase in value over time, because there is a set amount on Earth. This would result in a steady deflation in prices instead of inflation destroying everyone's wealth.

Economics isn't intuitive. Your arguments are quite naive, and lack an elementary understanding of socio economics. Look into some Hayek, Rothbard or Milton Friedman (many of whom's lectures are on YouTube). You must look at the facts and piece basic principle together before arguing about abstractions.

What TJ doesn't seem to understand about oil is that if gas eventually reaches $10 a gallon, the demand for it WILL go down due to people switching to electric, hybrid, alternate vehicles, and riding bikes and walking more often. Before we ever run out of oil, the rise in price will ALREADY have resulted in people switching to alternatives.

There are seperate companies that own the refineries vs the derricks, if that's your point, but that doesn't change the need to drill for more.
Supply is supply, and its effected by whether or not your going out and getting more.
One more thing, Oil company profits are between 1 and 5% of revenue, for someone who earns "a lot", look at Apple (over 30%).

2. It's not as useful as a fuel source, it's more intended as a lubricant, for instance it has great use in Northern areas because its freezing point is lower, so you have more guarentee in a snow storm that your car will start.
This isn't about profits, its supply, of a natural oil, for which we don't have a suitable substitue yet, and if we don't get more...

Lee Doren seems to defend his right-wing biases based on nothing more than social inertia. The idea that because his economic views worked centuries ago when there was no health & safety laws and no workers rights whatsoever, they can still work now.

The problem is, competition with huge corporations is almost non-existent.
I am not a communist in case you want to accuse me of that, Like I said, I don't have a problem with people succeeding fairly and honestly.
However Lee Doren seems to defend the free-currency Capitalism as a complete meritocracy which is wrong.

This video uses actual facts that make clear points and that needs to be acknowledged not ignored. People will always have a bit of confirmation bias but you guys take it to such an extreme.
