  • macleod's farewell/ornettes trip is my fave tune you've ever done! :) xx

  • I love how this video is considered "crappy" but turns out to be one of, if not the most awesome Irish based music video on Youtube. You should make another video like this dude! Oh and one, question I was sad to see that the music piece " Willie Coleman's jig" was cut short. What happened? Did your camera run out of battery or film while you where recording it?

  • Mmmmh ! I love irish music, I love Lunasa, so I love you ! :D

    Great tunes. :)

  • I like how this is supposed to be a crappy video...but it sounds so beautiful. May I ask, how much did your whistle cost? I'm thinking of getting one of my own. :D

  • what key is the whistle from min8 in ?

  • @ghizmo03 I'm pretty sure that's his generation Bb

  • Good playing guys!!! Thank you!

  • Yeah, now I see what you meant by a 'bad' video... the last one, tho the music was phenomenal, had a cameraman who was doin' a lil jig! Other than that(very small thing), I loved all the music! Keep on doin' what yer doin! ^_^

  • This truly is great fellas. your version of the eagles whistle and Macleods farwell are the best i can find anywhere. you really capture the celtic majic of those wonderful pieces. seriously put recordings of these on itunes and i will favorite them on my fb and you will make the money you deserve.

  • Not a bad number of views for a crappy video.

Looks like a Huck Finn stage for PJ in these vids - Good stuff guys.

  • What a world we live in where you find true talent in a kitchen or living room. Meanwhile Britany spears is a multi-millionaire. Great playing Guys 5 STARS!!!

  • A-freaking-men to that. All the no-talent rappers get millions, while true artists like these two are ignored. We live in one hell of a messed up world.

  • What do you find harder to play the guitar, tin whistle, or flute?

  • what brand is ur irish flute and wat key is it in?

  • It's a Tony Dixon polymer flute, in D

  • You guys are fantastic.

  • It´s just amazing and beautiful!

  • I would love to play an Irish flute. what is yours tuned to? Is it hard to play?

  • i rish flute is not hard to play all you have to do if practice hard and put time into it

  • i like the "Dancing" - makes it look like he's enjoying himself :)

  • I started off loving Indian and oriental flute music but today I really got into Irish & Celtic tunes you are playing, I must admit I really love it, I never really had a chance to listen to the Irish tunes before, thanks for sharing it!

  • Ornettes trip to belfast is exactly the sound i like. And I WILL play drum's to a few of your songs. its just a matter of how to get your vids into something i can listen to while i play and how to add your song to my drums. idk. plz tell me how i can do that. i have a great idea for the second video.

  • i absolutely LOVE the second video. macleods farewell. it sounds so happy. thats the type of sound i like and you have quit a few of them. i must say. i would love to play drums to a few of your songs. i think it would add a whole lott of groove into it. love you guys. keep being amazing.

  • absolutely agreed!

that tune's in Emajor so I'd have to get an E whistle, but I can't find one. Then, I could transpose it into D, but it's just not the same... E is such a happy key :)

  • that's supposed to be a reply to churchelster's comment... just fyi.

  • upon further reflexion.... this version is in Bb..... huh.... k.

  • Try a B whistle, a bit more common. You can easily play in Emajor with a B whistle ;)

  • Well, I am glad you put these videos up!!! I love the knocknamoe jig especially. Nice work guys.

  • what key is the flute in?

  • most likely D but i'm not sure

    sorry

  • yh it is D

  • I like the "live" acoustic presence of rooms with hard surfaces like this one. I have room in my house like this and it my favorite place to play. Natural Reverb with all of the acoustic reflections. I like all your videos but I like this room the best.

  • i love the first tune!your guitar+irish flute version rocks.

  • hey great work dudes!

can you send me the chords you using in lord mayo?

  • Your "crappy" ones are still freakin` sweet.

  • i love you

  • u are mint i wish i could play music it makes me happy u should be on tv or at a hostpal to chir peeps up xxx

  • anyone know what the guitar chords are for McLeod's Farewell?

I know the first one is a Bb major on the 6th fret, but i'm not sure what the next one is when the top note on the e string goes down to an A, and i don't know what the other chords are in the second strain of the song except for the Bb.

I'd also like to have the chords for Ornette's Trip to Belfast

  • 5:45 best part

  • i agree :)

  • jaja i mean the largest one ( it´s played in lord mayo)

  • what kind of whistle is that one?

  • wow. simply wow. ive just started to learn the tinwhisle so i went looking for some inspiration... and wow. i watched this with my jaw agape the entire time

    greetings from germany

  • 100% agree, I love the second part, too!

  • witch flute are you playing in the second vid ?

  • its a generation Bb

  • Very, very, very good job !

  • I just love McLeod's Farewell, that song was my breakfast, lunch and dinner today.. thanks :)

  • I'll second that motion!

  • Hello!

You are an amazing whistle player..I love listening to McLeod's Farewell and Ornette's Trip to Belfast! You have inspired me to take up the whistle, and i have even already ordered a generation b flat! I play the clarinet, so I'm hoping that i can pick it up pretty easily. Anyway, thanks again for your awesome videos!

  • how you get the flutes

  • Find a nearby tree, get close to it. Take a ninja position and start a punch motion. As you land an epic punch on the tree (rosewood for best results), yell SHAZZAM as hard as you can. And then a flute shall appear.

  • that or you could you know just buy one from a ninja.(unfortunatly not everyone is a ninja or has awesome ninja powers.like mine)

  • Try to find a dark ninja, they are the best whistle makers.

  • Oh man!

I've seen a lot of your videos and I think you are great! Thank God for people like you that share their talents with others! I play tin whistle myself and I think you're amaizing! Especially liked Willie Coleman's Jig and MacLeod's Farewell! Keep on!

  • hayyyyyyyyyyyy :) can u tell me like in that photo , umm the price of thous tin whistles LOL coz i wana buy :$ but im afriad thyr expensive

  • No they are really cheap. You can get expensive ones but even those arent really expensive especially when comparing to other instruments. So go ahead and buy some (you wanna try different whistles to find some you like) music instrument stores ussually do have a least a set of Generation whistles wich come in a wide variety of keys but start with a D is my advice.

  • you're amazing

the first tune is the best

i'll seek the sheet of it

    congrats guys

  • man I really do love your vids.. totally amazing.

How long did you learn all these flutes/whistles and did someone teach you?

  • Thanks, thanks a lot ! This music brings me very far away in a dream land and open my heart bright. Thanks again.

  • Damn man... You Sound just like Kev-o C. Would you have any idea of where I could get whistle tab for Mcleod's Farewell and Ornette's Trip to Belfast??? These songs sound absolutly amazing together man, especially on that Generation Bb.

is it posible to get your music on mp3 or something so that i dont have to go on youtube every time i want to listen to it :)

  • wow, amazing. i really love it! keep posting

  • That's cool! I don't know why you wouldn't have liked them. You never know what people might like, so sometimes ya gotta take a shot at it, you know? Great jopb playing, guys.

  • i'd love to have one of thos wood-flutes, they sound so much better than the normal one! great job, folks! @tinwhistler: perhaps you have a different name, but in ireland there are sometimes as many names as countys for the same tune

  • they're not crappy at all! love them, amazing! like the echo-y sound on smoe of them

  • It's so great, you're the best =) !

  • great music!

The second tune is actually called The wedding reel.

  • That's the wrong name Lúnasa gave, but it's actually McLeod's Farewell by Donald Shaw. Thanks.

  • love the mcleods farewell

  • that guy with the guitar is my guitar idol as well as Stan my guitar teacher

  • This is simply the most beautiful music i haveerver heard and een though i am only 13 i know great talent and music when i hear/see it which is why i find it unusual you dont give you and your brother enough credit for the work you do (you always seem to type stuff like I am a bad musician and it is out of tune but you are a fantastic musician.

  • Musicians & other creative people are always hardest on themselves. This is spoken from the persective of an artist/writer. These 2 are extraordinary musicians.

  • Wonderful, wonderful! I also would see you guys playing in a video in a dense forest dressed like elves, seated on trees and giant mushrooms, with pointed ears and so on...

  • wow! You guys are great. Very impressive. Come tour in st. louis and I'll be there!

  • I second the St. Louis tour idea!

    :-P

  • If you'd play in a bar nearby I'd be there every night xD

If you're ever on your way to the Netherlands let me know =)

  • u are the best =)

  • Molt bé nanos, contineu així! :)

  • fantastique !!!! c'est du bon très bon !!

  • Amazing! I look forward to the next one!

  • LOL! That's the best batch of 'dregs' I've heard! Excellent stuff! Glad you decided to post them.

  • It's about the soul; not about the technical preciseness. Anyhow, I don't hear many technical mistakes. Awesome. :)

  • Well if you ask me I don't hear one mistake. It is all beautiful. Just so awsome. Sit back in my chair, close my eyes, ahh, just so good. Well done.

  • Nice songs!
