i loved the music.i used to listen cardigans, you reminded me my highschool times :) btw, are that photos from a movie of bill murray's ? i'd like to know what movie it is..
Yes, photos are from "Lost in Translation" with Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansen. Not your typical Bill Murray movie though, so go into it with an open mind.
How I love this song.... But by Bruce Springsteen. I will always fall in love with this and all the other songs on his born in the USA album like at the first days that I had spent my time by listening to this album. Song for song!
What a dim-witted comment ... your IQ level is not even worth measuring. If Bruce Springsteen is not the original songwriter, who might it be then, oh brainless wonder? This song was published in 1984 by Mr. Springsteen of Columbia Records. Tough to accept, eh?
@weedhooper420 This "fucker" will respond by referring your dumb ass to the "Born in the USA" album where you will see that he wrote and performed the song.
superb. didn't know about the existence of this version, adore springsteen song, and nina's throaty sensual voice definitely thrills me. and the images of lost in translation really fit. thanks for adding.
I've got to agree with Mosquito22. Nothing beats Bruce's original. I l'm a big fan of this version though. Feel theres alot of heart and Nina Perssons Broken voice adds character to it. BRING ON BRUCE 2009 Got my tickets for HAMPDEN PARK, SCOTLAND. Seen him in Paris and Cardiff Last year.
@1984BIGJ i appreciate their good taste in music and the tribute to one of the greatest....but it doesn't capture the gut-wrenching emotion that bruce put into songs such as this one and "The River".
Not bashin you or anything, but it's called a "version" for a reason. A different take on the song, not to be identical. Leave it there, you're either a fan of the Cardigans or not.
I happen to be a huge fan of both versions, but thank god we all have different tastes/expectations or else this world would be one of blandness and mediocrity.
Sometimes people just like singing a good song.

What's funny is that Scarlett Johannsen was born in 1984 and this song came out in 1984 by Bruce Springsteen

Hi! I also agree to Mosquito!
Not even a chance to SPRINGSTEEN's version! No soul, no heart! It's not that easy to cover a Springsteen song...
thenewtimer1 1 year ago
I agree with Mosquito,
The female singer here simply doesn't put anything like the amount of SOUL into this heartbreaking song that it merits.
Its not just another rock song to be rattled out like its an averge radio-play hit!
Its soulful, its sad, its a guy who isn't gettin any breaks at all, just like real life!
I think maybe the Cardigans should leave Brucie's material alone if this is the best they can do!
Whether they're Bruce fans or not, they've missed something important here!

Don't be snobs fellow Bruce fans. It's an excellent cover.

I guess even the Cardigans themselve know that Bruce's version is better.
Not because it's the original. BEcause it's just better.
Recently, I learn the "HURT" is a Nine Inch Nails song, and not a Johnny CASH song. But in this case, the cover is better. : )
Some people don't know who is Bruce THE BOSS SPRINGSTEEN ?
LOL. And they think they knoz about music... :)

Sorry; this doesn't hold a candle to the Springsteen version (and I'm a Cardigans fan).
This just sounds like someone going through the motions. Springsteen's version is pure heartbreak.

Love this song,,,,but Nina doesn't really sound like she means it.... It's definitely missing soul.

Sorry, JD. This version misses the soul that Bruce has loaded on his version. This ain´t nothin but a too fast and melodical karaoke-version.
