BRAVO !! As a youngster during WWII .. I vividly recall that just about every home in Philly was complete and comforted with Jo's recording of "I'll be seeing you" .. both on the radio and record player. Indeed .. she shall remain .. one of God's finest creations. Semper Fi from Boston.
Do you have "My Jealous Eyes" by Patti Page? A real oldie. It was on the flip side of Doggie in the Window. I remember playing it over and over(probably wore out my needle!) If so could / would you post? Thanks for everything you do post!!
No I haven't got that song. I like Patti Page. For 2 years we had a channel called Nostalgia on our cable & the had the Patti Page show on there, Also they played short music films. One day there where 3 ladies that looked like the Andrews Sisters & sounded a whole lot like them. At the end it listed them as the Dinning Sisters. I liked them.
Well,Happy Birthday (5 days late) and I hope it was the greatest! May next July 16 be even better!! Keep that fantastic music alive! I doubt if there will ever be another voice to equal Jo Stafford. God given talent!
I remember this song from a movie I saw in 1944 when I was 12. I sang it back then, and still do, and think it's one of the most beautiful songs ever.
Thank you for posting this as a "tribute" to a real quality artistic Vocalist whose every recorded rendition offerred perfection in intonation. A joy to listen to as always
Yeah I like that song Long ago & Far Away. Through a Thousand Dreams is my favorite one that she sings. I have it on a 78 RPM I found in box of old 78's that were in my Grandparents attic.
Makes me remember the days, the times, the feelings that go with this great singer!
