When you travel with your party for more than 200 hours, when you get used to them, like they're all your friends, when you pass hard times and enjoy like a kid, it gets to you even more. It's a pain to see Auron's fading or Tidus', it's pain to hear Yuna's words at the end, while all specific scenes from the beginning till the end of the game are floating before your own eyes and yes, it DOES make you cry...
Only 3 gaming series made me cry, that's Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid and Shadow of the Colossus, all 3 series made by japanese. I think only japanese people can make you cry and they know you WILL cry no matter what. Such emotions I only experienced when my dear persons died - be that my friend or family member.
I cried in FFVIII, I cried in FFX, I cried in MGS, MGS2, MGS3 and MGS4, also in SotC.
Pity they don't make games like this one anymore. I'm very emotional and romantic man...

This was the first game I played where I felt like I knew each one of the characters like a best friend or even a family member. I went on a journey with these seven amazing characters. I knew they weren't real, but they felt real to me. So seeing this ending, it broke my heart. Such an amazing game. You don't find a lot of games with an impact quite like this nowadays.

Zanarkland is basically destroyed, and a dreamt up version gets created,
tidus and jecht are in that dreamt up version hence they are actually just dreams
When a summoner gets the final aeon, they have to choose a person who they have a strong relationship with to become sin the next time round Jecht becomes sin for Braska you defeat yu yevons final aeon incarnate
fayth disappear if there are no fayth, they aren't dreaming if they aren't dreaming, tidus doesn't exist and dissapears.
I want to play this game again, so badly. But I can't. A few years back my brother lost it.. This was my absolute favorite game. I remember going camping when I was younger, and begged my mom to set up the generator so I can set up the PS3 and play this game haha :) Good times

as great as this ending is it's nobuo uematsu's incredible talent that mKes it TRULY impressive. The music really does make it absolutely stunning. One of the most emotional musical pieces I have ever heard. I'm wondering how this ending would have affected me without such a song that never fails to bring chills down my spine.

I really don't get why the critics said the bad thing about this game is that you can't skip the custscenes, cause they're the thing that make the game as perfect as it is... this last CG and the one in the lake are the best scenes ever who'd want to skip them anyway? ¬¬

It's more than a game, didn't touch a ps2 or 3 since 2 years, and when i think about Final Fantasy X, its remind me a lot of things. This game brings me more emotions than a lot of things on this planet.

This really is the best game i have played. FFX and Crisis Core:FFVII were one of my best experiences in gaming.the story,the music,the fact that you bond with the characters. FF13 was great,but could've been much better. 12 was a disaster for me,X-2 was good,they went OTT on some aspects though. I wish they made an epilogue game. The start of the war between bevelle and zanarkand. That'd be mind blowing. Specially if they got Nobuo to work on the soundtrack.
It's sad how much people hated X-2.. I really enjoyed it and it's gameplay, as well as the story. It fits perfectly near the real world- 2 years and people forget your misdeeds, especially if you save them from what they feared, so why would they need you? People try to build a new world and new power. It was good. Still, X is also a great gameplay. I can't wait for HD :D

...why not a sequel? yeah yeah people will say previous sequels sucked and so on (i thought ffx-2 want that bad) but man the thing i like the most about ffs are the stories, and so i'd like new stuff to happen to tidus and yuna. In a remake, i already now how it's going to end...would you miss a NEW ending as good (or better (if possible)) than this? :)
The last game made by Squaresoft... after they joined and become SquareEnix, most are disappointment, shown by no sooner than X-2 itself. :( I believe, regardless of everything, X has the most beautiful storyline of all Final Fantasy, and the saddest ending of all, usually it all becomes a happy ending, not with this one, sad but beautiful.

This game. THIS MOTHERFUCKING GAME. I've never cried because of a video game. Maybe cause of some movies and/or books but NEVER because of a video game until I played this master piece. One of the best and most saddest videos games I've ever played and one of my favorites(guess I'm a bit of a masochist hehe). And it's sequel isn't far behind(should play it if you haven't). Out of the whole FF series if you ask me this one's the best out of all the others. Right next to FF7 or maybe even better.
Lolol I watched the beginning and thought yeah this is kinda cool. And then the dialogue started. God the voice acting is horrible. Not even John DiMaggio saves this mess.
Heh, I remember crying the first time I finished this game five years ago; I can simply say without exaggerating that it changed my life and emotions. A better Fantasy/Romantic story that any movie or book I've ever seen or read. It deserves to be made into an epic movie trilogy and a series of books.
It's tragic but it's also very happy. Tidus finally was reunited with his friends and family, and he finally got to "go home" and die like he was supposed to so long ago.
I beat this game (after two plays) with full sphere grid, all secret weapons with all sigils in place (even titus' which you had to get with that stupid chocobo race) and all bonuses extra stuff (like the monster arena). I was more proud of myself when I did that then when I finished college...is that sad?...who cares, I rocked this game and had a ball doing it :)
No other game can compare to this one. The story, characters, scenery, everything is just too perfect to descirbe with words. I still play this game, and yet, it gets me everytime. This was part of my childhood; I am now 20 years old and this game still means a lot to me. A true masterpiece, has no comparison whatsoever.

Hell yeah, I did not really care about Jecht and Tidus, as well as Yuna and Tidus, the thing that really made me sad was, that I had to sacrifice my own aeons :(
I spent so many years until I finally beat this game... I began playing with like 9 or something like that, and finished the game last year for the first time... I loved the aeons more than anyone else in this game.
Wow so after out of boredom i grabbed this game out of my drawer played it for 50 hours, beat it then the next day bought x-2.....here goes 4 days of my life ill never get back...so worth it though. This game is amazing along with number 7 and 13. Havent gotten around to 14...kinda dont want to ill be hooked on this for a while.
Next to its story , character relations and the badassness of Auron, I thought its setting was one of the reasons I became so immersed in it. I loved its tropical style setting, it was so different from typical fantasy games.
Too bad Square and Final Fantasy in general died after this game
Come on guys, the only line that gets me is of course 'I love you' And watching Tidus as his turns to face his love, before he disappears from her life....
if you think about it, him disapearing is like a slap in the face towards yuna! Like think about it, they defeat sin and after going through the entire game thinking she'd die, she lives! She's probably thinking that she'd beable to live live and that she wouldnt have to be afraid of not being with Tidus (as said in her will). but then Tidus disappears!
This game rocks!!, its way to sad how the creators of this game put together an ending like this...., but thats how it is, and the whole reason as to why theres an X-2 >.> The square-enix team sure knows how to display "real emotions" throughout the game :)
I've defeated the sequel with 100% on the 2nd playthrough, and I gotta say, everything becomes clear after all Yuna's beenthrough!... :)
On December 20 of this year, I will play the game again, marking the 10 years it's been out in North America. I find peace from my rather confusing and disappointing life in this game, and I will return there once again this winter. Me and this game, I'm safe.
If they're remaking this with updated graphics I'll buy it, so long as they don't change a single thing. The ending of this masterpiece makes me want to burst into tears every time. Im not biased, but X beats VII in my opinion every time, and I've played them all since FF went European. Okay, then, I'm biased......

Must admit this is my favorite game of all time and was the greatest ever game in terms of production values, characters, story etc, in my opinion.
My best friend and I when we were kids played this together and helped each other over the hard bosses.
I remember once we completed it how happy we were but also sad as well that something we had so much fun in doing, was over, i think a tear was shed.
Everyone goes on about how VII was the best, i completely disagree, X was the most complete.

This game. THIS MOTHERFUCKING GAME. I've never cried because of a video game. Maybe cause of some movies and/or books but NEVER because of a video game until I played this master piece. One of the best and most saddest videos games I've ever played and one of my favorites(guess I'm a bit of a masochist hehe). And it's sequel isn't far behind(should play it if you haven't). Out of the whole FF series if you ask me this one's the best out of all the others. Right next to FF7 or maybe even better.

Heh, I remember crying the first time I finished this game five years ago; I can simply say without exaggerating that it changed my life and emotions. A better Fantasy/Romantic story that any movie or book I've ever seen or read. It deserves to be made into an epic movie trilogy and a series of books.

It's tragic but it's also very happy. Tidus finally was reunited with his friends and family, and he finally got to "go home" and die like he was supposed to so long ago.

I beat this game (after two plays) with full sphere grid, all secret weapons with all sigils in place (even titus' which you had to get with that stupid chocobo race) and all bonuses extra stuff (like the monster arena). I was more proud of myself when I did that then when I finished college...is that sad?...who cares, I rocked this game and had a ball doing it :)

No other game can compare to this one. The story, characters, scenery, everything is just too perfect to descirbe with words. I still play this game, and yet, it gets me everytime. This was part of my childhood; I am now 20 years old and this game still means a lot to me. A true masterpiece, has no comparison whatsoever.

Hell yeah, I did not really care about Jecht and Tidus, as well as Yuna and Tidus, the thing that really made me sad was, that I had to sacrifice my own aeons :(
I spent so many years until I finally beat this game... I began playing with like 9 or something like that, and finished the game last year for the first time... I loved the aeons more than anyone else in this game.

Wow so after out of boredom i grabbed this game out of my drawer played it for 50 hours, beat it then the next day bought x-2.....here goes 4 days of my life ill never get back...so worth it though. This game is amazing along with number 7 and 13. Havent gotten around to 14...kinda dont want to ill be hooked on this for a while.

Next to its story , character relations and the badassness of Auron, I thought its setting was one of the reasons I became so immersed in it. I loved its tropical style setting, it was so different from typical fantasy games.
Too bad Square and Final Fantasy in general died after this game

if you think about it, him disapearing is like a slap in the face towards yuna! Like think about it, they defeat sin and after going through the entire game thinking she'd die, she lives! She's probably thinking that she'd beable to live live and that she wouldnt have to be afraid of not being with Tidus (as said in her will). but then Tidus disappears!

This game rocks!!, its way to sad how the creators of this game put together an ending like this...., but thats how it is, and the whole reason as to why theres an X-2 >.> The square-enix team sure knows how to display "real emotions" throughout the game :)
I've defeated the sequel with 100% on the 2nd playthrough, and I gotta say, everything becomes clear after all Yuna's beenthrough!... :)

If they're remaking this with updated graphics I'll buy it, so long as they don't change a single thing. The ending of this masterpiece makes me want to burst into tears every time. Im not biased, but X beats VII in my opinion every time, and I've played them all since FF went European. Okay, then, I'm biased......
