If there isn't gmo rice in beer there is definitely gmo corn. I was just on a forum the other day and lot's of people are having reactions to beer that they never had before. Anything from becoming violently ill to rashes. As far as I understand the German beers are the most pure as they can only have basic ingredients like wheat, barley, hops. No corn.

Bud has been made with rice for about a 100 years. My local bud distributor told me. Also since the genetically engineered material is only protein, it never makes it to consumers because of the protein being systimatically filtered out over and over. BTW- I hate budweiser, I'm just givng the fax. ;)

WTF, why can't U.S. companies be required to list ingredients in beer? I've long suspected that some of these beers have High Fructose Corn Syrup in them, in addition to GM ingredients, but there's no way to prove it without the ingredients listed.

Since few bars have organic beer, what beer should I drink? Do I have to switch to shots, and get fucking wasted every time I go out? This sucks.

to foamweapons - if you're concerned for environmental reasons, then maybe try to stick to local beers? - i.e. in a brewpub or stores & bars that support local breweries? - that way the beer should be much less likely to be GM, plus low 'food miles' & draught beer comes in a multi-use keg rather than the energy/material used in bottles & packaging. You could also think about homebrewing? ;~) (Just a thought from a UK brewer)
