worst car ever had the displeasure to sit in. it is small inside for rear passengers, the interior is a hideous colour, the dashboard was horribly cheep, the noise on motorways was so much louder then to consider bearable, nasty gearbox, diesel had no poke, seats are to thin and badly cushioned, only good thing was that the smoked lights looked cool. mondeo was well worth the extra £1300 after only owning the vectra only 3 weeks. it was far the superior car in every aspect.
I had a Vectra 1.9 CDTi as a company car. I loved it. Never bothered by its appearance, but the interior was comfy and functional and for a bland car, it was a joy to drive. I was then given a Mondeo Company car from the same year (2006) and I absolutely loathed it. Horrid steering, awful wooly gearbox. Give me the Vectra any day. The top spec models look quite nice and the estate is quite classy looking, especially in SRi format with the VXR styling kit.
my vectra is away i had the same one on show 1.9 cdti sri 150 bhp that was good car i hope that the 2.0 turbo 220 bhp insignia for me will be better i think just got to wait few months i have orderd it thats why i keep looking on here to pass time i cant wait lol
Tough as old boots, too. Has taken all the minicab abuse I've thrown at it in its stride. My one is a bit rough round the edges but hasn't just BROKEN like some Peugeot.
The 6th forward gear is a god send - bringing the revs down to just under 2,000 @ 70mph, and keeps the MPG nice at 55-60 on the motorway. I have the second-from-top Design, and the spec is brilliant and still exceeds new cars. DAB radio, dual zone climate control, 6 CD changer, the works
Hey any c vectra drivers can any1 help me ??? I am looking to buy an vectra cdti 150 maybe 05 - 06 . i want to know about the esb on these cars . i heard it is an option and that it is not standard ? is that correct . i know the car comes with t.c and c.b.c standard but i want esp . how will i know that the vectra im looking at has esb.? will there be a button on it on the dash ?
I jave a 2007 1.9 CDI exclusive in flame red. I got a performance chip box that fit in minutes to give a few more horses. I love the car. Bought from new. It's been a great work horse/ family car. I'd buy another when this one is done if I could find a new one!
I have an 08 CDTI VX (195bhp) and i hunted high and low for it. Traded in a S3 coupe for it and sooo glad i did. The insurance is steep for a diesel but the tax is the same as the standard 120bhp diesel Vectra. The motorway mileage is eaten up by the 6th gear and hot hatch noobs cannot believe they are getting left behind at lights by a diesel. Fast and unassuming and very comfy on long drives. Highly recommend one to anyone thinking about getting one.
Is the extra bhp from a chip or have you had it done properly ? Also does yours have a notchy 3rd gear change up. ? I have the 150bhp 1.9cdti version with VXR pack and when changing from second to third at speed it tends to be a little notchy going into third. Vauxhall say theres nothing wrong with it but i am not so sure.
Didn't The VXR Vectra Understeer Horribly??? I Don't Know Since I Don't Live In The UK... But I Hear The VXR Vectra Has Horrible Understeer At High Speeds...
My vectra is. Black and automatic sat nav fitted and 2.2 DIRECT diesel with tv fitted back
