  • I have this amp. It is great, but make no mistake it IS VERY HEAVY!

  • Well Dave it took me some time but I got my classic 50 based on the sounds you were getting out of it. Stole a black one with the silver grill cloth for $400 with the foot switch. What a deal. Not a scratch on the thing. Got a satcherator for $50. Dont think it was ever used. I actually like the gain the amp puts out naturally and run a boss me50 through the loop for delay only while also using the reverb on the amp. Crank between 6-8 and It just sings. Will experiment with the satch dist more.

  • Nice video. That amp w/ Saturator sounds excellent. So how does the "My Little Pony" display sound along side? Just kidding.Nice playing.

  • That time machine riff you played was awesome...you are a talented guitar player!

  • @guitarguy316 Thanks :)

  • This does really sound good I must admit---you should work for vox cause you sold me a saturator

  • Pretty fucking cool mate THx.

  • is the saturator on the clean channel or the OD channel?

  • @kalapoka666 Clean

  • @davet247 are you playing through the bright or normal channel?

  • @kalapoka666 you must have watched this video with the audio off...

  • Is there much difference between the time machine and the boss delay ?

  • @MaurofdVzla Not really, just it has some handy vintage settings that don't dominate the mix quite as much

  • @davet247 so does the dd-20, but that thing costs a pretty penny

  • you can easily sound like satch..of course investing on the gear

  • @deathscythekim729 Thing is, all this is cheaper then a JSX, or even a Marshall JVM and you can use any wattage of valve amp as long as it has the headroom for the cleans. I used the pedals with a 15w fender jr and it sounded awesome!

  • @davet247 yes i get it..i'm planning to have a satchurator.. psyched!! thanks man!by the way, are you the guy who reviewed the JS900 or JS1000 i think??, i recognize you..sorry for my english..goodluck and good day sir!

  • Ok I'm convinced. Did you make any changes to the classic 50. Are those stock tubes an speakers?

  • @Mklawson68 Yeah all stock

  • not bad but i tried much pedals and the jekyl and hyde is the best...you can play everything with it

  • it seems me and you have the same playing style; what're the chances lol

  • also, do you think id be able to reproduce this sound with say.. a gt-10 and a bugera v5? lmao

  • @ShredManFretShredder I'm sure you could to some degree but the C50's and C30's have a very unique clean tone that just sings so well with the vox pedals, it's like they were made for each other.

  • @davet247 true. your vid sounds really good. i have the gt-10 and bugera v5, but at the moment are unable to use both(missing the power supply for my gt-10 sadly :'[ ).

  • was the song after boogie, erotic nightmares? lol

  • Man you rock! Thanks for your insights!

  • My Little Pony LOVESS Satch:)

  • Can anybody help me on deciding what tubes to swap on this classic 50? Im looking for a high gain lead (blackstar, bogner) and a medium clean (standard peavey meets vox). I run a couple of pedals thru there also..but I would love to rely on the true tubes for it too sound like this satch pedal...appreciate any help you guys can give.

  • ok thank you for answering.May i ak you where you find satch settings for time machine? do you think that using a classic 20 or 30 could help to get that sound?

  • @satch24007 There's a few pics of his pedal set up on the net, I think there is one on his website, also on vox website. Satch has used both C50's and C30's before and sounded awesome with both!

  • hi nice vid! what are your gear settings? amp, dist and delay?at 1'20 to 1'40

  • @satch24007 Thanks, I used a nice clean tone with Mids on 4, bass on 7, treble on 10, resonance on 7 but it all depends on volume and room shape/size.

    Satchurator : Gain 12, Tone 4-5, and Vol 10.

Time Machine: Can't quite remember, I think I looked up Satch's settings then slightly altered them to suit my setup.

  • DAMN!

  • So let me ask you this...are you a Satriani fan? : ) Great sounding gear man!!

  • ommmmg satchurator and time machine sound SOO dirty together. Man I'm definatley going to get both of them you convinced me. P.S is that a tube amp?

  • @xo1tom1ox Yes, use a good tube amp with these bad boys and your cookin ;-)

  • Wow that's such a nice amp! I saw one of those at a local pawnshop for 159$

  • lovin the ponie dolls on the right lol.

kick ass demo btw man, gunna pick a 2nd hand satchurator up tomorrow for 500 hkd (about £35-40)

:D cant wait to use it with my blackheart bh5

  • Dude loves his satch gear. :)

  • thats a nice sound, but the sound from the JSX was amazing it was so warm and think and big!!!!! you should of got one of the smaller jsx like the the peavey jsx 212 combo its awsome!!!

  • The JSX combo was worth more than the head and cab! how crazy is that?! so I'm very satisfied with what I got :-)

  • oh right lol well that explains it =P lol

  • HOLY SMOKE. That Satchurator sure did the trick.....

I`m most likely buying a Peavey Clas. 212 50W within few weeks, and now I know what to buy if I need more gain :)

    Thanks!

  • Great sound. I´m thinking on buying the Classic 30 :)

  • wow that sounded awesome dude!!!! my gosh.........

  • Thanks dude.

  • @davet247 hey dude what guitar u usin? single coil or hum? thanks dude

  • I'm using a JS900 with Humbukers, Dimarzio Paf Pro and Fred.

  • cool dude thanks

  • Love the sound! What do you thibk to the satchurator?

  • Miracle pedal! It actually works perfectly and I don't miss the JSX at all with the sound I'm getting from this combination.

  • Cheers, I tried it out yesterday, it's great - abit pricey though :)

  • True, but you do get what you pay for, especially with distortion. I've tried all sorts of pedals but this is the best. I wouldn't pay the extra doh for the time machine pedal though... any boss delay does a similar job.

  • I hear that tubes are louder then solid state amps.

Like, if you had 100W of tube power and 100W of solid state power the tube would be louder, is this true?

  • Very true. You hear the difference more in smaller size amps, my uncle has a small fender pro 15w valve and it kept up with my JSX 120W amp at a recent gig! I nearly had a hernia lifting all my gear and he just came in lifting his amp with one finger! Lesson learned.

  • So this amp is plenty for basically most to all situations?

Im looking at getting it and it will be my 1st tube amp.

Also, where's the sweet spot located? because im going to be playing relatively smaller shows, my band is just starting out and i dont know if i should get this one or the Classic 30.

  • I'd go for the C30 for small to big gigs, it really will be loud enough for most any gig and will reach it's peak or sweet spot sooner than the C50. I got the C50 cos it seemed like too big a jump to 30w from 120w! 50w is perfect for medium to stadium gigs and just a little big for small gigs but a lot better then hauling a stack around.

  • FYI you can pull either the 2 outer EL84 or the two inner EL 84s and run the c50 at half power (25 watts), which would allow you to get that breakup at much lower volumes.

  • pony??????

    XD

  • dude. sick tone. but quick question. i also got the classic 50, but whats your amp settings at? like the bass/treble, presence. on top of that, what kind of guitar are you using? thanks bro

  • Thanks, on this one I used a nice clean tone with Mids on 4, bass on 7, treble on 10, resonance on 7 but it all depends on volume and room shape/size.

    Satchurator : Gain 12, Tone 4-5, and Vol 10.

    Guitar: Ibanez JS900

  • My Brother has the same guitar

  • wow the saturator has more of a 3d sound than even my boss GT6

  • does this amp have an fx loop so i could use delay flanger and phase with the amps od? and how are the blue marvel speakers?

  • Yes, I'm now running the Time Machine through the FX loop, it doesn't have a level control though but a good pedal usually has one on it anyway. The Blue Marvels seem fine to me, nice warm sound. If anything it lacks a bit of bite and top end but that might be down to the fact I've never taken this baby's volume past 2! The Satchurators tone control can introduce the bite back though so it's all good.

  • i've beenthinking of buying the Clss 50 for a while.been using a 30 for last couple of gigs. dig the amp just not quite loud enough. Hows the vol and bass response in a live setting?? cheers

  • Totally controllable bass response with the presence dial, performs very well at low and high volumes and takes pedals very well.

  • on your clip and recomendation (plus a stack of good reveiws) i've bought a Classic 50..got it today, and man its got some balls...real rich warm tone, and fat dirty channel...Impressed so far...Friday night will be the real test...cheers

  • I'm testing mine on Friday as well! Got a casual gig (solo's over some blues) I'll film it. Good stuff man, let's see some footage :-)

  • finally got the amp, first one that was sent up was a lemon.Had some electrical issues. played it tonight.huge sounding clean real big and warm tone..playing les paul so pretty fat tone to start.. gotta do some tweaking with second channel but still sounding good... been using a marshall tsl 100 for some time so totally different ball game..bit of experimentation ahead... ha.. good fun

  • Can you get a mild overdirve from this.Richie Kotzen type ? Or is it just all out Balls to the wall?

  • Yeah, all ranges of overdrive. On this video was set to max.

  • Not my half stack ?? it's just too massive and too bulky ha ha, very much attracted to the planet !!

That's why I am looking at these, awesome rig you have going, thanks for posting.

  • Hey,you collect my little pony stuff as well?HAHA.Just kidding.Nice demo.

  • What wrong with hauling a stack and turning it on 1 at the gig?

  • Unnecessary heavy carrying and transport, a 50 watt amp is fine for ANY gig and is half the size & weight. Sure the half stack looks cool but it's massive overkill.

  • I know. Something I've learned too. Even my 50 watt 2x12 combo is overkill. I would like to get a decent 1x12 combo

  • I was thinking of getting a Classic 30 1X12 before going for the 50, I like the sound spread of the 2X12's though and to me the jump was too great from 120watt 4x12 to 30watt 1x12. I've been looking at the 1x12 JVM's also, they seem like a great little amp.

  • everything sounds cool!....the ponys on the right got me a bit worried though :)

    Great skills and sounds :)

    Still I don't think I would sell a JSX...never owned one...but I don't think I would :D

  • Dude, love your style and the songs you played (and your influences, of course ;D)!

  • I love you and your Satchurator. I wanted to get one but I have a peavey envoy 40w right now. I also want to get a tube amp but are they a hassle?

  • Only a hassle in terms of volume and weight, they tend to be twice as heavy & loud as solid state amps but sound much more pro. I have a new Vox VT15 for in the house now and that's best of both worlds for the price, but I'd suggest a Fender blues jr with a satchurator for good portable pro tone at a decent price.

  • nice gear !

i think classic 50 is way too loud for home practice~~~

  • Your right! At least for my pokey cardboard house. Good in a big sold detached house. I have it in my garage now. Wanting a small 15watt thing now... any recommendations?

  • hehe you are like 10times better than me ~ and more experience with amps too~~

have you ever tried vox product? i am planing to buy a nice small valve amp 5~15w.. want to hear some advises from experienced satch fan like you~~~

  • You can pull the two middle tubes, or the two outer tubes and run the Classic 50 at 25 watts

  • blackstar ht 5 amp all valve 5 watts very very good sound and very very loud for 5 watts blackstar are the way forward

  • i would go with. a 30w egnater rebel 30 combo. they are sweet, not too expensive. and sound awesome. and they are also very small. which makes it portable.

  • nice man, i like your skills on guitar,

from mellow to metal in an instant.

  • Wow you're amazining on the guitar !

Obviously I'm no where near your level of guitar skills. I'm still practicing on mine.

My question is, since I only have my electric guitar (six strings), picks, and an amp, do I need to get any other accessories ?

Also, what's the best way to improve your learning on playing the guitar ?

I want to be able to play riffs and solos.

    Awesome vid !

  • Thanks!

As far as gear goes, it depends on your amp, if you have a good clean and distortion with reverb then you don't need anything else to sound good. A guitar tuner?

And practicing.. play along to as many songs as possible, it will help with phrasing and timing plus it's fun. Also learn what works with different keys, try letting an E chord ring out and play some notes that work around that, it will get you used to moving through scales. Hope that helps :-)

  • You should try some basic tutorial videos!

  • The Satchurator is awesome, i bought my ex one. wish i had kept it for myself lol

  • Get it back!! lol

  • Neighbors had a party when they saw the JSX heading out the door. Little did they know...

  • The Neighbors are actually selling up! haha. I bet they had second thoughts now.

  • Cool stuff hoss

  • You know it, blood.

  • thought you were talking about your balls at first

  • Laughter
