  • *raises hand* how do you know how to round it out to? to the nearest tenths or hundreths?

  • @runtubefantasy cuz the us math system only goes to the tenth place aka .01

  • did he say ninja at the end of the video?

  • thank you sir for teaching verizon simple math!

  • u people tolerate that this person had the guts to learn a new language.. and maeby yet he knows it, but struggles on the accent. Other languages in the world are much harder than english, and within two years of learning them, u still cant use them. DON"T BE RUDE

  • okay, I like the fact that u made this video, but dont take so much time to lecture me on the simple math that i learned in grade school, i know it, i feel like your trying to teach me

  • I'd rather have broken english yet be a genius.

  • lmfao

  • why do people, especially those at verizon, find this so hard to understand? i understood perfectly and im average at best in math. yet some people still try to argue with such simple reasoning and answers. thank you for explaining this nice a simple. maybe verizon will see this and realize their flaw...naaahh.

  • I'm SUPER happy you posted this for the morons at VERIZON. Like most companies they have morons that don't know the difference between dollars and cents, and they are dealing with customers' bills, and they function as managers! WTF...those people should never be employed to begin with! There are so many stupidass people out there. They can't make change and they don't know the difference between a f'n penny and a dollar!

  • Win

  • 1024 kb = 1 mb = 1.99 per mb. 35,893 kb = aprox 35 mb (35893/1024) 35 mb @ 1.99 = 69.65

  • @arizonanic You're not doing the conversion right. You're using '.002' in the context of a dollar (.002 dollars). You need to use it in the context of .002 cents, 100 times less than a dollar. That is what Verizon quoted the customer. If it makes it simpler, use .00002 dollars * 35,893 instead, and you'll end up with .71786 dollars; or 71.8 cents.

  • @predatordes except the rate is actually $ .002, not .002 cents. The below math IS correct because the rate is $1.99/MB. If you divide that by 1024, you get $0.0019/KB. The problem was those verizon service people thought $.002, but was thinking that is in cents because it is smaller than a dollar. So they replied .002 cents. A silly idiotic mistake, but the guy paid what he was supposed to.

  • now the maths and physics is good, but the english sucks!!!! lol maybe they can teach you english while you teach them maths, everyone wins!

  • HOW IS IT WRITTEN.. IS IT WRITTEN .002 or .00002 IS A SCAM..

  • They should implement this new math in colleges now right before you graduate. If u pass, you are a normal human with a real grade level of a kindergarten. /s But America = fail on science front.

  • calculators without the option of cents and dollars fail everything

  • And that is why australia doesnt have Verizon. And isnt their some sort of ombudsman for telephone companies in the US?

  • the thing i never understood is how the verizon employees actually thought he would pay 71 dollars and 79 cents for kilobytes for his phone lol common sense plays a great hand in this

  • I will lol if this goes into the newspapers :P

  • Hey dont be mean to the dude. He's just showing the normal rates for internet service

  • This is math NINJAAAAWWWW!!

  • That's hilarious. He tries to break it down -- to dumb it down, but you can't dumb it down any further! It's already a pretty easy problem. as long as you already know that $.002 is NOT .002 cents. *sigh* effin' Verizon...

  • NINJAAAWWWWWW!!

  • @TehPielightZone your retarded. the us is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, even in as much debt as were in.

  • @Snowshredder4life Yes you are definitely correct. But the wealthy people are limited. My point is that there where more poor people than rich. And did you have to call me retarded?

  • @Snowshredder4life Hard to see why its so 'rich', seeing that so many idiots populate it

Perhaps one day Africa will catch up with US. Wouldn't exactly be a big surprise.

  • i getting mad....:(

  • Why are people saying that the IQ in U.S.A. is very low just because Verizon is trying to scam its customers? Maybe they're just stupid but why does it have to be the whole country because of one company?

  • LOL , funny! Good Point though.

  • tl;dr

    $0.72 = 72¢

Only the retards at Verizon don't get this. Maybe I should troll Verizon walk-in centers to see how well they are off now about the units being quoted.

  • im in 11th grade and i learned this in physics. no college graduate should have graduated without knowing this rudimentary concept.

  • @kannelal You should have learned this in about 6th grade, you shouldnt be proud of that.

  • I hate stupid people

  • I understood what you were saying just fine. Just as clearly as I understand the broken english of my doctor and surgeon, both of whom I choose over others. Not sure what prompted the I Q remark, but it shows a clear lacking in one's ability to get their point across without resorting to insults. Knowledge without people skills = fail. : )

  • LOL! I'm glad someone addressed the Verizon people.

  • aaaHAHAHAHHA!!!! TODAY will gonna learn 6th!!! grade math!! omfg LOL!!! this made varizon the most halarious company.

  • Can you speak ebven broken Gujarati?

I can speak broken English also

  • @mathproblems yeah but we dont live in india. Dumbass.

  • @mathproblems

    No, *I* can't . . . but, I sure wish I could.

  • @mathproblems No I can't speak broken Gujarati.. So please don't speak broken English...

  • "Do not waste your time, Enjoy thee life" xDDDD

  • LOL, verizon should be paying you to make this talk to their employees... well, they'd make an "attempt" of paying you and screw up the paycheck too.

  • why is it so hard to understand?

  • Because The IQ is US is very low

  • @mathproblems

They relied on immigrants too much

  • "Because the IQ in the US is very low."

Fixed your broken English for you, hope you don't mind.

  • Because the IQ in the US is very low."

Fixed your broken English for you, hope you don't mind

Can you even speak broken Gujarati?

  • @mathproblems As a person from the USA, I know that some people have problems with math. But, I think it depends on the person. I've always been pretty good at math and did well in math. In college, I remember that a lot of people struggled with college algebra which I thought wasn't too bad. I think it's the way math classes are structured in the USA. Or just schools in general for that matter. But, they really should do better training at Verizon if this is an issue over there.

  • @mathproblems what was the point of this video? go back to India you fat hindu

  • @sticksrun01 And you go back to your rep job at verizon.

  • @mathproblems Extremely.

  • @mathproblems The average IQ in the US is 100, just like everewhere else

    .

  • Isn't that the teacher from stand and deliver?

  • who is confused Verizon or mathproblems?

  • A really easy thing is to say that a cent will NEVER equal a dollar. .002 cents will never equal .002 dollars no matter how many times you say it does. It's not an opinion. It's a fact.

    .002 of a dollar = .2 cents

    .00002 of a dollar = .002 cents

Math is definite. It never changes.

  • @RCKChich try telling to Verizon emploee and a supervisor. they both are thick headed.

  • Teacher teacher! I know the formula for this. V E R I Z O N equals S C A M - A L L - D A Y - e V r Y D a Y

  • I received an email, saying:

"BorderInspector has replied to your comment on Verizon Math mathproblems:

Lol I wonder if dooglus ever got it?

You can reply back by visiting the comments page. "

When I came back to defend myself, I find that s/he has cowardlyily deleted his/her comment.

Anyway, I'm proud to tell that no, I didn't ever get it, and I intend to continue not getting it for as long as I am able.

  • Converting cents to dollars means moving the decimal point two places to the left. The Verizon employees got messed up at reading more significant digits because they agreed $1 = 1 cent but not $.002 = .002 cents.

  • lmao this video is awesome :) favorited.

  • Maybe they should consider where the word "cent" comes from.

  • no.. maybe in your house..

2.00 dollars is not 200 dollars. 2.00 cents is not 2.00 dollars. dollars aren't cents.

  • Shyguymt: you should change your name... you sure don't appear to be shy with your limited, insulting vocabulary. It looks like you may need a remedial course in English.

  • It doesn't matter if you're on fucking Mars, 2 cents is $.02, and 0.02 cents is one-hundreth that amount. Math is math, goddammit. Get it the fuck right. And when you're paying the bill based on these miscalculations, it's not " right either way."

  • Verizon's rate for KB usage is 0.002 cents per KB. That is a FRACTION of a penny, not a representation of two WHOLE pennies. Your bill comes in dollars (which are made up of 100 pennies). First do the math of 0.002 (remember fraction of a single penny) by the total usage. Then CONVERT that amount to dollars. Its a 100:1 ratio you move the decimal to the left twice. That means instead of owing 71.86 CENTS you owe 0.71 DOLLARS. Two different UNITS of measurement. Is everyone caught up now?

  • @phillpottsk

71.86 cents IS .71 dollars. maybe im misunderstanding you, but i think we're on the same page

  • .7186 is 72 cents and not 71 cents

  • @theeliteninja yeah we're on the same page. I can't believe how hard this is for people to understand.

@mathproblems you are correct I didn't round I just dropped the digits.

  • you fail 6th grade arithmetic

    2 cents = $0.02, not 0.02 cents

    2 dollars would be $2.00

  • This guy is so correct, the other idiots on the verizon video are the reason I don't have verizon. My friend said they have great service, but have the worst customer support in the telephone/cellphone market. Hands down.

  • Uh no. We refer to 2 cents as exactly that, 2 cents. when we manipulate equations involving both dollars and cents we write the dollar as 100 cents, because that's what it is, always has been, and most likely always will be.

I have no idea where you heard someone say "a dollar is equal to one point zero zero cents". That is simply wrong. There is so ambiguity or cultural differentiations about this, saying the way you just explained is just stupid and shows you don't understand what a DOLLAR is.

  • you are suggesting that all americans are fuxx idxx.

  • He sounds and looks like my physics teacher.

  • The Math Ninja thing cracked me up. How did someone not understand the difference? What scares me is that the same people will still be saying $.002 = .002 cents.

I am glad they don't pay my salary!

  • Lol i saw that on national television!

  • those are nice rates

  • omg I love this~~~~~~~~~~~~

  • this is math ninjaaaaaaaaaaaaahahaaaaarraah

  • The guy could whom this happened to can actually sue verizon for rate misinterperatation. ch-ching!

  • good intention, but you don't need to say "rates are important" and "unit's are important" 10000 times, get to your point quickly!

  • Did he just call himself the Math Ninjaaaaaaaa?

  • Get them professor!

  • Oh my god.. This video is freaky epic aaahahaha

  • this reminds me of our "local" and biggest ISP in Belgium called 'Telenet', they fuck up there billings so many times with so many people, you got to wonder if the employes ever went to school ...

  • I like how this video is 3.14 in length :P

  • nice observation dude...

    Mathematicians delight!!! :)

  • nice, you're a rockstar for noticing that

  • the video should of been 2.72 in length instead :P

  • 2.74*

  • The natural logarithm is the logarithm to the base e, where e is an irrational constant approximately equal to 2.718281828

Don't quit your day job hehe

  • after the third decimal it is irrelevant

  • Then why you say 2.74 when I said 2.72?

  • Maybe CT was trying to say that the video *is* 2:74 long?

    2 minutes + 74 seconds = 3 minutes + 14 seconds, y'see?

  • wishful thinking. If I can't see you then i'm invisible to everyone.

  • VERIZON EMPLOYEES!!!

    PLEASE WATCH AND LEARN MATH!!!

It's even better than your high school class because you can take it again... and again... and again... and again...

  • LOL this shit is so simple it's crazy, it's a wonder why this video is even needed. I hope those dumbass employees watched this.

  • Stupid Verizon

  • I love Indians... Sometimes they annoy me to death, but I love this guy!

  • NINJA.... i think thats what he said at the end

  • hahaha. epic video.

  • there is nothing herioc about this video.

It is onlty showing how bad the verizon employees are in 5th grade math.

  • dude ur lame

  • Comment removed

  • It is in the wording and people are getting confused because the guy put $0.002 and then 0.002 ¢ but he kept saying point zero zero two cents or point zero zero two dollars. If he would of said 0.002 ¢ as 2 thousandths of a cent it would be different than the 2 thousandths of a dollar then there would of been a difference but he did not say it correctly. $0.002 is equal to .002 cents

  • I'm sorry but.. you are mistaken.. You have to realize that the two units, dollars and cents, and 100 unit places different. This means that 1 dollar = 100 cents. What you said at the end of your post

"$0.002 is equal to .002 cents"

is wrong, because, taking from what I established at the beginning, you must multiply the $ amount by 100 to equal the cent amount. Hence making $.002 = .00002 cents.

Hope that clears it up. :o

  • "point, zero, zero, two cents" is different from 0.002 ¢.

Yeah, SAYING it is different, but its not actually a different thing.

  • point (.) zero (0) zero (0) two (2) cents =

    .002 cents

what is so hard about this fact?

did you not learn that in grade school?

  • "point, zero, zero, two cents" is the exact same as 0.002¢... want proof?

Point (.) Zero (0) Zero (0) Two (2) Cents (¢)... take out the words and you are left with .002¢ which is the EXACT same as 0.002¢. You just finished high school and you still got that part wrong? :)

  • Please tell me this is a joke... SOMEONE TELL ME THIS IS A JOKE! I would like to know there is some hope for the human race.

  • there is no hope for the math in USA

  • still no response?

  • Yeah, you're right. LOL

  • My response: you should be an accountant. You will be quickly hired by Verizon. (And I will never be a Verizon customer for any reason.)

  • I agree. Because surely any other building in America... housing former American School Students, will do much better. For example: Att, Tmobile, Sprint, etc. I am very certain THEIR math skills are different.... I'm just not sure why.

  • You're not sure why? Really? Then you should apply at Verizon for accounting as well. They will be thrilled to have you. Or do they frown upon hiring shareholders?

  • Why just Verizon? Are you saying the folks at other carriers are hiring from a different pool of folks? Differently educated? Please explain how this is.

  • Who said "just Verizon?" From my count, only you. I would rather you tell us why you are so quick to defend Verizon. You have no reason to believe that I would not rip any other carrier a new one if crap like this showed up on my phone bill--or anyone else's. I know you are anxious to get your hands on the Droid but is that really why you're so up in arms about this video?

  • what orffo who wants about this fact?

point zero zero 2 = .002 cents and not .002 dollars

  • Comment removed

  • Hey, anyone else notice that the video is the two decimal approximation of π long? Just pointing it out.

  • i noticed that too and was wondering if anyone else noticed that also

  • Just wondering, isnt America full of immigrants, and arent the people themselves immigrants?

If i were to remember correctly, the real "American" people were the native indians.

  • i like the ending

  • 6th grade u learned this in 4th im in 7th now

  • Lol way to judge a country all because a few people dont know how to word things properly.

  • hey foamingAction why did you say this even tho u say the country u live in is the United States of America. your a hypecrit

  • If you dont like America, get the fuck out.

  • thats what the typical retard says, instead of saying, how to we improve our education system. How do we improve our health care.... The retards, say, get the fuck out? cuz your to fucking stupid to do anything about the problems your country has, and you havent traveled enough to realize how shity the quality of life is for Americans. this is why so many people make so much $ on retards. You Americans just dont realize when your getting fucked in the ass.

  • LOL.

  • hahaah, first i was like dude hurry up. but then i realized he has to dumb it down for Verizon or they will never get it. hahahaha

  • math ninjaaaaaaaaaaaa... wow

  • Holy shit i made it through pre-school!! HURRAY!! thanks dude!

  • lol indians ftw

  • Your grammer is incoorect

You real American fins your own mistake in what you wrote FoamingAction

  • Comment removed

  • do you teach in school or a university or something? lol

  • Comment removed

  • did anyone else find it humorous that the video is 3 minutes and 14 seconds long?

  • Ninjaaaaaaaa

  • i thought i was wasting my life until the end hahahahaha

  • omg did he say ninja at the end ROFLMAO

  • SlightlyAbyss... You are thinking of 2. Not .2 as the same as 2

  • you fu*** smartass...

  • you need to brush up on ur math .002 dollars dont equal 2 cents it equals .2 cents

  • You're just as dumb as Verizon.

"they charged me 0.002 of a dollar. Which is 2 cents. "

No, that would be .2 cents. $0.02 is 2 cents.

"America is dammed with out emigrants"

Emigrants are those who are leaving the country. You mean immigrants.

"But thats ok, stupid people deserve the American dream!"

That's right, so go back to school.

  • your so fucking stupid, they qouted him 0.002 cents per KB.

So your the one who is trying to say I am stupid, but your not even able to read what the guy wrote on the board?

Immigrants, America with out them is nothing.

IT doesn't change the fact that the 95% of the world hates America and Americans.

  • "your so fucking stupid, they qouted him 0.002 cents per KB."

That doesn't change the fact that .002 of a dollar is not 2 cents. Just look at what you said.

"Immigrants, America with out them is nothing."

Go look at the number of people who come to the US every year. It's -certainly- not going down.

"IT doesn't change the fact that the 95% of the world hates America and Americans."

You mean it doesn't change the fact that 95% of idiots pull random percentages out of their ass.

  • For you everything is out the ass unless CBC or CNN says it. It doesn't change the fact your a stupid American. It doesn't change the fact the USA cant take care of there own citizens. Get a fucking health care plan u fucking idiots.

  • Oh, you didn't pull 95% out of your ass? Can you tell me the source of your info then, either provide me a link or show me which credible reporter says that 95% of the world hates the US?

And what, do you live in a bubble? Do you not know what the battle is over in the congress right now? You defame news and yet have no idea about what's going on.

By the way, way to stray the conversation away from your failed math. The guy in the video explains it to you, and you still get it wrong.

  • lol who ever you where talking to got owned.

  • theres one thing U$1 = 100 ¢, so how u dont need to convert ?

  • win

  • omg jenius!

  • i hate verizon so much, they outright insult anyone who has a brain, i really mean it. i hope verizon loses all it's customers because of this.

  • Dude, shit! I don't know why I do this but your the sixth fucking person I've told since the guy who got jipped posted his video. Verizon is a damn good phone company. Very good. I love them. CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES at any company are bound to be dense reject fucks. It's very simple to get a job in customer service anywhere which in most cases is a very simple job so very simple people go for it.

  • SlightlyAbyss... If you aren't joking, please don't ever get a job in customer service, especially at places that require you to understand basic mathematics.

  • You sir, win.

  • =O WTF?

  • THIS GUY IS BEAST.
