@Englishlass It wasn't that they were written out, entirely, it was they were never written for correctly after Pamela Long took over as headwriters. But then again, much of what Doug Marland created was destroyed by Long, & Long also nearly destroyed the Bauers because of her thoughts that GL wasn't modern enough. UGH! & then in the 1990's the writers had no clue about the history of this couple to have brought them back.
@Englishlass I'd also add that I wish that GL writers after Marland had concentrated a bit more on the Reardon family as a whole (certainly if not Quint & Nola) at least they could have given us some more Tony & Annabelle even if they would have had to recast for Harley Koszak (Annabelle) instead of cramming the

Quola rocks. Too bad we never got more sexy scenes. They were really hot back then, and tptb seemed to lose interest before they got married even though the fans never did.
I wish this couple hadn't been written out, I thought they were wonderful.
