  • luke kelly and christy moore are the best irish singers

  • this is my 1st post on youtube couldnt help myself......christy says himself that it took him while to find a singing voice he is happy with, im sure he didnt go around speaking in different accents, he just experimented his singing until he was comfortable with it, and the only time ive heard a difference is with his stuff from the 60's 70's, so to say he changes his accents alot makes you sound like the MUPPET!(and v small minded)

  • Aw Christy. You are the man. Gorgeous then and Gorgeous now.

  • there was a fashion then for singing in a weird "english folk " accent -- i am glad he abandoned it

  • he sounds more Dublin than English

  • @RamblinTroubadour hes not english hes from Kildare

  • the man has aged fantastically

  • There's something amazing about Christy's voice from back then. I'm not sure exactly what it is - is it more pronounced? does he have a slightly different accent - more Irish?

    Anyway great post.

  • seems to be a more formal style. great post.

  • It's like he's trying to sound like a Dub. In later years, he doesn't try to disguise his Kildare accent.

  • go on**AVONDALE**

hahah its d place ta b...!!!

  • I think this is one of the very first appearance of Christy on T.V.

  • Great post! Haven't seen Christy's beard before.

  • some people are actually shocked to see him with hair

  • neroderobert, are you hearing voices.

  • to david: what are you on. give this man a break.

  • the man in question being you

  • I don't know what you mean. please explain.

  • I know that Dominic Behan was a great figure in Irish Hstory, with his background,Songs and plays.I heard that his ashes were scattered to the Royal Canal in Dublin,a place he would have wished, and I know of his Brothe Brendan, as I live very close to his original home today.I hope I didn't offend you as I have great respect for the Behan family.

  • Hey, relax, I just wrote an opinion. Are you annoyed at an opinion. What sparked such a reaction? I'm curious.

  • Never! Christy is king when it comes to this song. What a brilliant performance. I absolutely love his version.

  • wow thats christy?

  • So cool, to see vintage Irish TV specials!

  • Unique. Excellent

  • Well done Christy.

  • Parnell betrayed.
