  • Hi Hans, glad to see your still sailing that modified 17 she looks good, the last time we spoke you were ski ing near a year ago i suppose, keep up the good life old pal.

  • Wow! Love the mods to the H17! I have a one design H17 in the US, in Texas. I'm envious of the power. I trust you lost the wings because the heel angle would drag them in the water? And how often to you trap two people out?

  • Hi and thanks!

A friend of mine who is a real skilled sailor gave me the idea of removing my wings. They were comfortable but they had som drawbacks:

    1. Weight

    2. While on trapeze, it made the walking back and forth on the hull less easy. Now withou them I can move myself much faster back and forth som that I can have an optimal angle lengthwise....

  • ... 3. If you have the wings and you are trapeezing in hard wind, you will press the hull down in the water instead of generating speed. Without the wings, in hard wind, you will generate more speed.

    4. As you said, on high angles, the wings will drag in the water.

Im usually sailing alone (in winds about 10-15 meters per second).

  • nice video, fantastic lake and nature
