  • Apabullante, que guitarras! Billy Corgan los Dioses del Rock estan contigo :)

  • What a sound! Grunge!!!

  • This was the Real Pumpkins. Everything after was a nosedive.

  • @cbarryslough They couldn't stay the same forever. All things change.

  • saw the pumpkins for the 6th time last nite, and this is the first time i heard this live.... this alone was worth the price of admission.... old school guys, i'll tell you now, this tour, lets say 22 songs, over half 95 and prior...

  • hes in a dress rite

  • I wish Billy would start taking LSD again.:(

  • @bladerunner1b he would spin up and lose his head

  • FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-AMAZING

  • Best song ever in the history of everything.

  • he is so high its hilarious

  • @Sikamikanico999 nope he never touched drugs! after his dad who was also a musician got addicted he vowed never to do them.

  • @groovey65

Then why does he say they took lots of LSD on the audio commentary to "Rhinoceros" on the DVD with all their commercial videos?!?

  • @Gott0300 Doesn't nessacarily mean he did, could just mean everybody else.

  • @groovey65

If I remember correctly he said"..WE took lots of LSD..", not "they" or "the rest of the band".

Maybe you're right, maybe not. Let's not argue about this. Let's agree that Starla is an amazing song from an amazing band, whether they were high or not.. :)

  • @Gott0300 no that's fine dude!!! I am only repeating what Corgan has said but i'm sure we both know that Corgan has a tendency to lie in interviews XD

  • @groovey65

    No hard feelings, friend.. ;)

  • @groovey65 Nope your wrong he did lsd and a bunch of it , He stated in more than one interview that he AND some other band members did so much he would studder a little during siamese dream sessions

Im 35 I have met him I have all there albums and have seen them 11 times I know a thing or two about the pumpkins.

  • @stoolet I don't care how many times you've seen them we've already talked about it.... The truth is Billy loves to confuse people! I'm not saying he never did drugs but the one thing I can say is that he would not have done them during Siamese Dream sessions because he cared way too much about that record.

  • I still love Ye Olde Pumpkins!

  • @McLovin666ll troll detected.

  • @McLovin666ll Lol McLovin you're a fool. The Pumpkins obviously were far over your head and therefore that could be the explanation as to why you thought the solo was "shit." Seek medical attention immediately because I do fear that you're suffering from dementia. :P

  • @povkilla STUPID FAGGOT ,,, im a fan of smashing pumpkin but o matter how much i admire them and everything i not gonna lie about this shitty performance if you want to fool yourself thinkin this performance is the shit then fine for me ,,,another blind asshole like you is normal everywhere so i dont care ,,,,and please do not respond to this message

  • @McLovin666ll You telling me not to respond to this message is obviously going to make me want to reply more. First off, it's highly fashionable these days for people to slam a band for sounding like shit and then claim that they admire the band or are a fan of the band isn't it? If you like a band and the music they've put out you realize that when playing it night after night live the song's solos can take on certain changes. Saying it's the "worst solo ever" is just plain ignorant.

  • pure rocking awesomeness....

  • billy in a dress = billy in his prime

  • @skizatz yup!!

    if he's not trippin on acid and/or stoned i'm a monkey's uncle!

  • Billy and the Pumkins prove they are on another level. Seeing the Pumpkins live a few times was some of the best times I've ever had. It's like The Velvet Underground and the Doors had a baby and that baby sweated pure MDMA and musical orgasms through it's pores.

  • Sensational song no question

  • man i wish i would have had a chance to see them in the early 90s b4 they went mainstream. they made easily the best rock alt music of any band

  • @THEBANGERS Easily Yes They Rule

  • HE HAD HAIR! OMG!

but his voices sucked just as it sucks now

  • @BLURCEG Imagine what Billy and the band could have been...if only they hadn't sold out-gone poppy-mainstream...and Billy hadn't shaved his head to look like something out of a 1920's Dracula movie. They had the world back in 91 and 92, but they let success ruin them as so many other bands have done.

  • @alternatehistories

I'm not certain that you have the cause and effect correctly postulated.

  • @alternatehistories when exactly did they sell out? they were massive after siamese, and mellon collie, so did they sell out then? Adore isn't mainstream, nor is Machina, what are you talking about? seriously?

  • @iwanabbilly They sold out when they signed on to big label Virgin and produced Siamese. You have it backwards...being massive is the payoff for selling out. And what is selling out...its when you have to see them play a stadium (assuming tickets haven't sold-out and U can camp out for them) and there are little kids with their moms in tow...and mainstream types who've come to hear their, now, radio-friendly tunes. When everybody begins listening to a particular band, then that's when I stop.

  • @alternatehistories If they sold old, Billy would'nt be giving away free albums like Machina 2, anyway you can't stop yourself from being popular, they became popular by being a great band, ye Gish is great, but so is everything else, none of their albums sound the same, and so just because their music changed through time you call that selling out?? i will have to disagree with you

  • Comment removed

  • Your loss. Popularity doesn't automatically mitigate quality.

  • where is this....

  • @mjakephoto read the description... Chicago 07/24/92

  • crap that guitaar tone for the outro solo! way far out. People who hate the pumpkins never really know how hard they rock.

  • To disappear takes so much time.

No one else fails like me; in my eyes I burn alive.

Billy understands. He'll always be my zero.

  • PUMPKINS ROCK ETERNALLY!

  • Although it sounds a tiny bit like the Gish era Pumpkins (something Billy wanted to avoid in SD) there is no reason why this shouldn't have graced SD.

  • @Idobeapirate This song was supposed to make it on Siamese Dream but was cut due to lack of space and later released on the Pisces Iscariot album of rarities and B-sides.

  • @wardcurry

I remember buying this with Plume & I Am One on it before Siamese Dream was being released. Well in advance actually.

  • no upskirt plz, thanks

  • You have to understand Billy is an artist and you can't stay in the same place emotionally, over the years you grow and you change, it's just part of life. It would be very boring as an artist to write the same style songs for twenty years and if Billy is anything like me my life depends on growth and change both musically and spiritually or I will die.

  • One ov thee best songs ever...

  • I agree with nirvanarugby...I really haven't heard any of SP's new stuff and I don't think I want to so not to ruin the SP I grew up with... Billy in a dress and all!!! I think I've seen SP about 10 times... best was at a club called the Ritz in Phoenix sometime in the 90's. Viva SP and Viva Morrissey!!!

  • love this track play it everyday on the way to work.

  • its weird the more i heard from the pre baldness era the less i liked of the post baldness era

  • Love this song, it's literally freaking awesome. Wish they'd write more stuff like this now......

  • I'd love to see this live, so much

  • amazing song !

  • love the music, just wish he'd grow out his hair. he doesn't look right with his big egg head. Its all white and round you just want to punch his big head. if he's going bald just throw some propecia on it or something.

  • Comment removed

  • @killianz I agree. I've been an all-time Pumpkins fan, but now I only acknowledge their 1988-1996 era. The feeling sorta went away, along with the hair. Billy is currently dead for me, though I don't doubt he's got a kind heart, and though some might say Zwan, Zeitgeist and Jessica Simpson are just Billy's way to show he isn't afraid to speak his mind. ._.

  • Fyi, Billy is vastly misunderstood. Most of what you read and hear about him is EXTREMELY exaggerated due to other peoples jelousy, or taken the wrong way. He just takes his work (or should I say art) very seriously. He has his good days and bad, just like everyone else, and isn't afraid to speak his mind. That being said, he is a very nice person with a very kind heart. Please stop dissing my friend. If you don't know someone personally, everything you say about them is hearsay.

  • well said!

  • @BLURCEG i agree. he is god

  • @BLURCEG You know billy corgan. really? please reply. Im a huge fan.

  • @BLURCEG.. ive always said that.. hes not my friend but being under a magnifying glass for so long must skew a personality quite a bit. like when it was printed that he made osbournes wife sick and every one was freakin out that she hated him or whatever.. later she stated that she meant she literally caught his cold ^.^ people r stupid gossipers rnt they? he was my first crush when i was 7 years old and ive never believed all the crap

  • @BLURCEG they are just jealous dogs/rats & cannot love... Let them knaw at each other until they are all gone, what The Smashing Pumpkin(s) are doing is eternal, universal, extistential, and transcending!

  • @BLURCEG Dude, He's one of the most talented songwriters of my generation, and he highly messed up with the feelings of millions of people around the world with his art. I don't know him, I don't know if he's an asshole, and I don't care. In fact, he can be what he wants, because he's Mr Billy Fucking Corgan, we owe him for all the amazing work he has done.

Amazingly talented people like him are not common person, they have special license to be whatever they want.

  • @Subiromba well said...its just people are way too quick to judge

  • @BLURCEG well said

  • @jsandstorm94 where is this show? anyone?

  • @BLURCEG Hear hear!

  • @BLURCEG he's human like everyone else. people forget that when you become a celebrity. they only want from you what you did originally that got you known or famous.. if you want to change or to do anything else youre automatically a sell-out.. which is ridiculous.. you try playing the same type of songs/songs & music style for the rest of your life.. it gets boring.. no one can consistantly write awesome songs of the same style forever..

  • @BLURCEG you're fucking retarded and brainwashed, Billy is a heartless control freak who thinks he's the center of the world. The reason James Iha is no longer in the band is because he probably has had it with Billy's crap

  • @tommytentiming Oh no! James Iha isn't there anymore! The guy that hardly contributed to the band is gone! What a travesty! The only other guy that contributed to the band other than Billy, was Jimmy. He was the only loss to the band.

  • @TheSPumpkin100 Jimmy wrote jack shit and murdered Jonathan. What a great guy. Oh and James FOUNDED the band, WROTE most of their early material, and was an integral part of the band. I love how you can't tell D'arcy apart from James.

  • @tommytentiming LOL I don't know where you get your information from! What early stuff do you mean? Gish era? He only part wrote I am One. Siamese Dream? He wrote a part to Mayonaise and a part to Soma. Mellon Collie era? Take me down AKA the worst song on the album. Adore? Nothing. Machina? NOTHING. Jimmy was an incredible drummer, he did the drums, if he wasn't the drummer, the band would sound significantly different. If James didn't want to join Billy in a band, Billy woulda got someone else

  • @TheSPumpkin100 1988-1990, the band's starting point. Look up "East" if you don't believe me. So yeah, your argument is invalid.

  • @tommytentiming I've heard East. It's a good song. I listen to a lot of Pre Gish stuff, but the truth is that wasn't their best stuff, and it's not like those songs were played live ever again. The Pumpkins after Gish era had no need for it, and Iha didn't write most of SP's best songs that are seen as classics, he was useless to the band. An average guitarist for a legendary band.

  • @TheSPumpkin100 that grummer was great. "they only come out at night" sticks out in my mind as the worst song on mellon collie, but hey, what the hell do i know, i gave up on them around then.

went to see them in dublin years ago. some poor young girl up from the country got crushed to death. wouldn't mind, but she was probably only there coz she liked 1979.

tragic. i think her name was roisin.

  • @cheapy2006 just looked it up, Bernadette O'Brien. my bad

  • Flabbergasted

  • i wasnt here

  • You know, if you learned how to type, I probably would have respected your point.

  • yes he was and still is but he is such an amazing guitaris, songwriter and singer so we all can forgive him...^^

  • Yeah I would probably hate him too if he wasn't a guitar god and wrote Siamese Dream

  • fart

  • lol Billy that plays a jaguar

  • I named my dog after this song, I wanted to name my daughter Starla but she wouldn't go for it 8*(

  • I would name myself starla nah just kiddin but its a good name tho

  • my favorite

  • Jimmy's drumming sounds awesome in this clip, and yeh, the solo... wow!

  • this song is fuckin amazing... and the solo... masterpiece!

  • Ha, Billies using a bassballs pedal, I had one of them, it was frankly a bit shit.

  • I have rocked out to this song probably over 300 times. Its an awesome focus point when you are drunk, high or stone cold sober. My top song ever!

  • Stoned right now, sir. YOU ARE CORRECT!!!!

  • I can't stop watching this video haha

  • This is a gem !!!

Maybe their best song, along with X.Y.U.

  • I'm amazed that he busted that out on a Jaguar and not a Strat. I wonder why he chose that guitar for this song...

  • James should've used the jag or the fender, but Billy must do the solo.

  • strat ehhem even though they're all fender

  • jags own.

  • The tone, my friend.

  • Would like to see what he's doing to that poor guitar when he puts it on the floor

  • Does he know what he's doing while playing the solo?

    FUCKING GREAT

  • I compared this to the original version ... I think he does know what he's doing lol. Feedback FTW. This is the best song ever by miles.

  • Fuck yeah I wish I was at that show

  • me too, i guess at that time i was playing lego in a kindergarten, damn =(

  • fuck yeah! i was at that show

  • Billy, I want to wrap your long locks around me

  • hes bald

  • my favorite pumpkins b-side EVER

  • it's the b-side to the gish version of i am one. (not worth asking was the b-side to the origonal version). it was later released on pisces iscariot, which is a proper release of unproperly released songs. a compilation if you will. not a "real" album.

  • so he had hair...

    haha

  • i named my dog Starla for the all mighty SP i heart you

  • Best psychedelic rock song period

  • while this song is legendary and very psychedelic its not the smashing pumpkins most psychedelic. i think that title belongs to the entire album gish

  • no talking when the pumpkins are playin!!!!!

  • the people talking in the background is irritating

  • this is one of my favorite albums!

  • i used to play with my dick more often........but anyways pisces iscariot is great

  • I like the crowd.

  • in my opinion best guitar solo in a alternative rock song.

  • i agree...is a musical osrgasm.

  • i agree...the solo is so crazy and melodic

  • Omg, Billy's wearing a dress, never saw him like this before.)) The song is cool, i used to listen to it and pisces iscariot pretty often.)

  • Really? He wears dresses all the time...machina had bell skirts and zeigeist has the silver multi-tiered skirt..

although. i suppose this is really a lot more of a woman's dresss..

  • Comment removed

  • Sure, it's woman's dress he's wearing in this video.)) The stuff he wore in Machina era and wears now doesn't make you laugh, they are serious.))

  • La puta madre, esta cancion y una buena mina... y si que vale la pena estar vivo...

  • ajaajajaja su nombre no era starla era Darla ajajaja que paso billy ??? ajaja

  • I wasn't named after this song, i AM starla :D

  • Aah, I wish people still jump at concerts like that.

  • I remember this show... my god, has it been 17 years already?!

  • CORGAN!!!!

  • Oh man, grunge hair corgan! Haven't seen that since the I AM ONE video on their DVD

  • Yes Dave, that is his last name...yelled very loudly.

  • LUV the Pumpkins. Such talent, such creativity... And they make it look so easy! ROCK ON GUYS!

  • Rofl, love the crowd surfer at 3:28

  • if you listen to the studio version of this song, at the 5:27 mark, you can hear a police siren in the song.

  • Comment removed

  • amazing

  • WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!!

  • i love this song. i remember years ago when i bought that pisces iscariot (screw spelling lol) CD. ever since then, every single winter, ive listend to that CD. somthing about the warm and dirty sound of that album makes me feel like im covered in blankets :D

  • HOLY CRAP LONG HAIR

  • Hey kiddies, all guitar and bass are Billy. James, a great player, contributed little to nothing. D'Arcy played what Billy did in the studio. She contributed nothing.

  • Hmm why did Zwan and his solo career suck so much then?

  • ZWAN were amazing, especially live. Just "Mary Star Of The Sea" (record, not song) mostly sucked.

  • actually i take that back i like gish to machina not gish to mellon collie me

lol my brother have fights bout which album is better Siamese dream or mellon collie (I'm mellon collie) :P

    xxxkate(quiffychicky)
