Aside from the acoustic recording technology, sorry, haven't got a clue! Any ideas ??? Thoughts, feelings, theories are ALL welcome! Cheers, etc. Doug --
not that i don't trust his performance is real...but there were many many "bird sounds" overlapping and it was like a century ago, i don't think they had "voice over" back then? so was this chorus done?
Charles Kellogg (1868-1949) could sing like a bird. Literally. At least that's the story, and the Humboldt Redwoods State Park Visitor Center is sticking to it. Kellogg would stand in front of an audience, open his mouth, and out would come an aviary of birdcalls. He claimed to have the larynx of a bird called a syrinx.NPR's Ketzel Levine tells Kellogg's story as the first part of her series, Big Trees and the Lives They've Changed I got this from another video
So the people at the end of my street got a dog. Betty and I were trying to figure out if it was indeed a dog. It sounds like a bird and a dog combined with a pig-like sound. A dog with the Swine Flu ....
I love dogs ,but I moved next to a hound who loves to WOOF WOOF at 5:45 every morning. You would think the owners would have more sense.I think I have WereWolf Flu since Thurs.
I imagined one day I'd hear a singer who literally sounds like a bird, seriously am not kidding. Thanks for uploading. It was really interesting to find out about this man who has a 121/2 octave vocal range
I'm sorry that this video hasn't had more comments. I'm studying vocal range in opera for personal interest, and I've been as awed as you by this seemingly phenomenal performer. I love the room!
typo
so "how" was this chorus done (recorded)?

Yes, clearly... obviously it's recorded.... but how Mr. Kellogg managed all the different sounds is another matter altogether. Tnx & Rgds. Doug --
