The biggest problem for games like sparkster, is the simple fact that the large games market now days prefers ultra realism and FPS games, not many care all THAT much about games like this.

Or it could just be the simple fact that Konami is too busy with it's head up it's own ass to know what gamers want.

Sparkster itself was such an awesome styled character. Also the game in general looked awesome. And need i say more about the music and sound of the game :| Who here doesnt get frkn turned on by those sick ass explosions. Still the best ive heard in gaming so far. Yes over the top. Yes it doesnt make your house last as long, but who cares!

Worth every penny!

On the Genesis version, do you have to play the game on the hardest difficult setting and find all the hiding swords just to get the games true ending?

wow I am so glad I did not waste the effort getting the hard mode ending O.o that was like one slight alteration to the ending, but meh its snes you work with what ya got so I guess I can't really complain. Was a great game anyways :D be nice if they did a decent remake of it... maybe bring him into 3D like they did the sonic adventure games :D

there's no real reason konami couldn't do that, there's tons of directions they could bring this series and still make it awesome (ie ae pilot wings style rka game where you control the wiimote to fly sparkster in some lvls and use his sword, or a metroid style rka game going back to the roots of first rka1 with an armour upgradae system, making your own swords and gaining elemental properties from them to access other areas) but sadly konami just won't do it :(.

IMO the musics and the ending of the Genesis version is far better, but the SNES version is better to play because is more easy to finish, the graphics also is better.

A lot of Genesis fans hate on this game simply because it's on SNES. The graphics and sound are obviously superior on SNES, so they usually rely on the claim that the SNES version doesn't play as well.

That is a fallacy however. In fact an argument could be made that the SNES version plays better because of the additional moves and level variety.

Both games play very well though and are fun games, if not different entirely. A true fan would play through and enjoy both.

While I'm happy he was put in Track & Field, It is a shame that Konami hasn't bothered to fully revive the franchise. I'd love to see a new installment, even if it were for just the DS or PSP.

Also, has anyone ever noticed that  in the end of all three games Sparkster flies away whenever any of the princesses he rescues tries to get close to thank him?Wonder why.

The first Rocket Knight Adventures was the shit! Neither one (Genesis of SNES) of Sparkster versions came even close to the brillance of RKA!

Aye the gfx tricks you saw on the SNES int he first level also showed int he later levels on the megadrive. But for Nintendo it was more a showcase of mode 7 stuff I gues. Anyhoo on the Genny it also had purpoes with the water reflection ;) and morphing heh.
