  • God, she WAS beautiful! She definitely proves the saying, "Beauty is only skin deep."

  • I am 21 years old and I love her so much, I wish I could dress like her.

  • Retrospectively Alarming Truths

Love Is to Private Life What Progressive (Humanistic) Ideals Are to the Public Realm

Godard’s representation of Nixon and McNamara as junior secret service agents is politically eloquent and significant in its clairvoyance. Paula’s tireless, obsessive care about her appearance signifies the humongous role of appearance (of political cosmetics) in liberal politics (it is equal to the role of blackmail by power in conservative politics).

  • This is hard to find! Made in USA. I want to see the whole film, J-Luc Godard is the master.

  • Marianne, you're an angel.

  • she looks dumbly

  • Perfectly, flawlessly beautifully sung -- and a capella, no less! Until the drugs and alcohol got her, she had the most beautiful voice of all time. Even Cass and Michelle couldn't hold a candle to her.

Forty years ago I was sooooo in love with her!

  • spot on . . she was ravishing . . but there was no voice like that of Connie Francis . . .

  • Seems this song makes people morose. Her listeners dont look to happy.loved the vid though, like a dream you might have if you drink a mint-&-onion shake before you go to bed.

  • Doing things I used to do, they think are new...... How sad the passing of time.QUEL DOMMAGE

  • Are you kidding? There would be no David Lynch or other avant-garde film makers if there wasn't the likes of Goddard, Fellini, Bergman, Passolini, Garrel, etc. Where do you think Lynch ripped it off from (as Marianne would say), Dahling?

  • Wow. This is almost as weird as David Lynch -- could be a scene from "Mulholland Drive."
