i count my footsteps when i walk home from school to see what it takes each day and i do the same thing where i count in sets, funny thing is i always forget
my OCD fucking sucks, from thougts about religion, to music, to sexuality, to anything, i can't even touch something or something bad happens, ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing your story. Although I don't think I have OCD I can relate to certain things you mentioned like the same ritural for brushing my teeth, counting how many times I do certain things.
ocd is not a disorder it satan he puts thoughts in your head you think its your self well accually its ur compion devil he mathches his voice to your own voice allah gives us the cure un one verse in quran all u have to do is not to beleve these thoughts and do not follow it if satan tells u to wash ur hands do not do that now u no it the devil and not ur self
it was interesting to hear about your counting because i've been counting for as long as i can remember too. i count in 4's and 6's. on the stairs i count 4, 2, 6 one way and 6, 2, 4 the other way. there are certain places like from the house to the garage where i count in 6 and everywhere else i count in 4's. i also find myself stepping on the edges of shadows but if i step on it with my left foot my right foot has to match.
in middle school i suffered from ocd.I washed my hands until they cracked and bled, and I also had to do the rituals, like checking to make sure the doors are locked even though I knew I already did. Now, this has pretty much subsided. I still obsess about things but its more real problems in my life, that I constantly think about. It's not false things I worry/obsess about now, it's hard to thinkabout anything else.
And I also get really obsessive over what people have said. If I didn't hear something correctly I have to make the induvidual repeat a couple of times to completley feel content(even if I did hear clearly occasionally). If I say something out of place I tend to worry about it for 30 minutes or so after.
k reassurance from my mother constantly at night (asking her questions even though I know the answer to them. If I think the fire is left on I think they house will blow up over night and it will be my fault for not checking it. Just extreme scenarios. It is driving me insane :/ at night. I can't sleep well. I am only 14 years old but I'm unsure whether its a phase. I did go to my GP but she only gave me a leaflet. Thanks for the informative video. :)
do I have mild ocd? I constantly check the door I have thoughts of people robbing the house or murdering my family if the house isn't secure even though I am aware it is stupid. If I have a cold and I cover my budgies cage with a blanket I constantly worry it will catch what I have even if I have never came into contact with it. I can't make tea or touch anything that involves making something for my friends of family (food-wise) or such because I think they WILL catch something I have. I see-
Also im a 18 year old guy and this has been happening for about a year now and when i left school i got a job and i was treated like crap and was going crazy and had to see a counsellor guy and was thinking of suicide it was that bad but eventually had to quit that job because i couldnt cope and i have to tell my mum everything that happens at my work and when i drive there and get parked i have to tell her how many cars go by when im parked there or if someone walks by the car and the direction
I do the hand washing thing and it started when i found out my dad never washes his hands and i use my knuckles to open doors and picking stuff up to save having to wash my hands all the time and i also have the tv remotes in a plastic see through bag so i dont have to wash my hands. I also used to do the counting steps thing when i was younger when walking but dont know why just did. Also i do this thing where i move my fingers and have to do the same on the oposite hand again dont know why. :)
its not anything like schizophrenia. Schizophrenia deals with delusions and auditory visual or sensory hallucinations. Obsessive thinking triggered by anxiety or the unknown is part of...having a deep reason or just a wrong feeling is completely separate from believing a false reality. Both deal with paranoia and deluded thoughts but one results in knowing its irrational and doing it anyway and the other deals with not even comprehending what rational is.
@pinknblackish I think the histrionic one is close to me but there is other things wrong with me. So that is just one out of a few other ones I dont know about.
However there are two types of people according to the Bible, the goats and the sheep. The goats belong to the left-hand path, and don't get saved. So if you are one of Jesus's sheep, you ARE better than a lot of people lol It sounds arrogant, but it's just true. Those written in Jesus Christ's book of life are better than those written in the devil's book of the dead. If you believe in Jesus, then you are of the spiritual seed of Israel. Israel means "he shall rule as God".
@dftmmwgitd If you are 'god', wouldn't that mean you can cure yourself? And your condition is quite common, and is defined as Megalomania, a form of schizophrenia... Many religious people have Megalomania due to the fact that they feel they truly have a personal relationship with an all powerful deity. OCD & religion are essentially the same.
@dftmmwgitd Sounds Like Bipolar I've Watched Some Videos On Youtube On It Where People Feel Like Their On Top Of The World Something Like That. There Are Videos You May Find On That.
This video was interesting to hear about. I think some things for me for OCD would be like... Whenever I eat french fries I have to have them in a straight line on my plate. And usually I eat each bite of food on a different side of my mouth, unless it's really hot or really cold foods because the left side of my mouth is sensitive. I need to keep things straight [furniture, notebooks, etc]. I always do eenie meenie minie mo for choosing different things [clothes, among other things]
Informative as always! The door locking thing explains a lot about a buddy of mine actually! Have you ever watched the show on A&E called "Obsessed"? It was alright, but somethings were brutal on it.
Just wondering, do you know anything about Trichtillomania? I was diagnosed with it a few months back, and my psychiatrist said it was an anxiety. (She compared it to biting nails) But then I have also heard it is classified as self-injury. I guess it could be classified as both?! When I do it, I don't know I'm doing it at all, until its over and I have the hair in my hands, which is weird. It's all subconcious stuff. Anyway, just wondering if you had any experience, or know anyone that does. :)
Great video. I have little things where I have to do things over and over again until I feel like I'm safe, or I have finally done something right. Dumb, random shit like the other day handing a water bottle to my sister. I had to trade her bottles because I had a bad feeling I gave her the wrong one, and something bad was going to happen when she was getting ready to leave. If something stops me from fixing whatever I feel is wrong, I get crazy anxiety that sometimes turns into panic attacks.
Great Video :) I can relate to a lot of this , The whole locking /un-locking and relocking of doors and lightswitches can drive me up the wall, and I can't sleep unless I do this whole night time ritual. Grrr
@Hoopybluefood Yeah, sometimes when I get paranoid at night I'll toss and turn in bed all night long until I finally get up and check the doors. It's rather annoying, thanks for commenting though :)
