  • I want find a person like this and connect with them in the way they do.

  • the listening booth scene is awesome BUT I hate that song!!! OMG its terrible!

  • the listening booth scene is fantastic!

  • She's looking and behaving so goofy and geek-like.

  • Absolutely brilliant scene in the listening booth

  • alguien le tiene que decir a ese bicho que deje de despedir tantas malas vibras

  • Damn, the scene in the tram is so long without any cuts. That really takes an effort on the actors part. Imagine if they mess something up 5 min into the scene and they have to do it all over again, with the same intensity and sponteinity as if things were being said for the first time.

Acting must be really hard, lol. At least in films like this.

  • I do too........Uphadis. 7/31/11

  • He is so cute! *__*

  • her singing voice makes me wanna take 2 bic pens, stick one in each ear, and make them touch.

  • @IETCHX69 are you talking about that song in the listening booth? If so, I feel the same way. I LOVE the scene, its a gorgeous scene, but that song is dreadful!!!!!

  • Wat an awkward moment in the listening booth haha

  • @scooterlibbie No they fucking shouldn't!! lol

  • @zeldagoblin lol...love the reply

  • this movie is word by word from real - and typical moments.

  • i liked the concept of soulistic inflation (haha). i also i liked how he couldn't help but to correct her in such a nonchalant way "the media?" and then, how she corrected herself, but didn't realize that he had corrected her. i wonder what she is thinking during 6:43-6:47, 6:53-7:00, 7:03-7:06, 7:08-7:18, ...

  • Come here by Kath Bloom, what a beautiful song and what a beautiful scene.

  • woowwww a near 6 minute scene in the car with no pause, change in cameras/ position, etc. meaning ethan and julie had to memorize their and deliver their lines flawlessly for that long... geniuses :D

  • @mangoice4 You know people in plays have to memorize their lines for the whole show?

  • 4.35: "Now there is between five and six billion people." This was in 1994/1995. Today, in 2010/2011 it is almost seven billion. That´s really extreme.

  • how to find this kind of guy on Earth ? hahaha n.n and i love the song and how their eyes communicate,it was so adorable n.n

  • i read these comments and i'm very much inclined to believe that i am the only guy watching this film.Lol is this the moment where i become insecure and begin to question my sexual identity? NO... HELL NO. i'll tell'ya why. it's because i keep wishing to be ethan hawke's character. i wanna be the one walking around vienna with her; i want to push the hair from her face; and i want to be in a cubicle with her stealing glances of her while we listen to folk songs. i want her...

  • @BigOldMrKnish awe so cute! haha

  • it's been said plenty, but the moment at :48 where Jesse goes to push the hair out of Celine's face and then at the last second backs away is a heartstopping moment...

The body language in this film is fantastic...

  • 9 people have no heart

  • i need a reason to continue my life, my secret lost love, i need you. it's getting later... why haven't you shown? : (

  • I remember her saying she doesn't believe in reincarnation in Before Sunset but in this one, she does.

  • good film but my lord that man does chat some bullshit

  • I love how the entire movie is them talking

  • LOL @ Ethan's face at 3:23

    "WTF? This chick be crazy"

  • awkward

  • <3 <3 <3

  • She's so lovely! I adore her face, and her hair is just so natural looking and pretty

  • Great Movie!

  • the scen when they are listenning to music is so magic each one want to get a kiss but no one get it don t do this it may be the only occasion for you hahah

  • lol 4real

  • what's that song? please?

  • @andina18 Come Here by Kath Bloom. I made it my wake up song on my alarm. Great song to wake up to =)

  • Viena is one of the most beautiful and romantic cities I know, such a great place to film this movie.

  • Comment removed

  • he`s great in this movie, great great

  • The booth part is so cute

  • title of the song?

  • Where is that place at the end? The cemetery? Is it really in Vienna?

  • the reincarnation qustion really made me think..

  • she does not sound very french?

  • "We wrote these little declarations of love to each other at the end of the summer, and you know, promised we would keep writing forever and meet again very soon." "Did you?" "Of course not."

How did I not catch that my first two hundred times watching this until i saw the sequel

  • SEXUAL TENSION

  • You can positively feel the tension in the listening booth scene - he desperately wants to kiss her right then.

  • the reincarnation thought is pretty neat

  • Great elevator resonance... so sweet and pure.

  • what's the title of that song?

  • @goddess315 "Come Here" by Kath Bloom (:

  • do they just talk the whole movie cuz im already dead bored

  • weeeee.....beautifull.....song part =P nice

  • handsome hawke!

  • Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy -- wow! Talk about chemistry! It's off the charts in this movie. I wouldn't be surprised if they had a thing for each other in real life.

  • This is excruciating. I love Ethan Hawke, but the acting with Delpy sux. I can't feel the chemistry, the script is woeful, the flirtation is stilted and contrived. They don't seem focussed at all on the acting. Was this after his divorce from Uma? I'll persevere with it to the end and hopefully will change my mind by then and see what you all see. At least the locations are lovely.

  • I sobbed like a baby during the music booth scene. What's wrong with me

  • @bodyanti I'd be asking what's wrong with you if you didn't sob during that scene. Incredibly moving.

  • what is the song playin at 5:51? walking through my life, walking through the signs?

  • 07:14 like it!! funny nd sweet <3...accept that song. :P

  • are you kidding? the song might suck but it is describing everything they are feeling. You almost couldn't have picked a better song for the scene. Wow, did they hit the nail on the head with that scene, with the coy gestures and prolonging lust, almost tantric

  • @IntoxicatedCrow YES!!! Thank you. I'm glad someone else picked up on that moment. Probably one of the sexiest moments put on film.

  • Ha, yeah man. You have to experience it to know it when you see it which is probably why most of these youtube nerds have no idea what we're talking about. Saying to yourself "I remember doing that a million times over", makes the movies that much more special to you.

  • Poor insecure Jesse. Ha.

  • nineties......ahhhhhh.: )

  • the details are flawless. that thing with the hair...

  • seeing that you made this comment 2 months ago you probably have no idea what I am refering to but you are sooo right with that statement. I was thinking the exact same thing especially with the hair thing. He wanted so badly to move her hair so that he could she her beautiful face and obviously because he is infatuated and I can remember doing the same thing a hundred times. Occasionally it gets akward and that happens, just so on point with the manorisms.

  • The music booth is one of the best scenes in the Romantic Movie Genre

  • I get butterflies when they're listening to the song and stealing glances from each other. I love being in love.

  • @Uphadis Totally agree, one of the most moving scenes I've ever seen for quite long. I admire their expressions on their faces, those quick glances they make to each other. Each of them hesitate who will make the next step in a future relationship they both want so much. Trully amazing scene.

  • @Uphadis It's really great when they're at the booth! It's impressing how such a simple scene can have great effect!

  • @Uphadis

That is a very well-crafted scene.

  • Jesse: Yeah, hang on, hang on. It's a, it's a totally scattered thought. It... which is kind of why it makes sense.

  • what's the name of the song in 6:40

  • "Come Here"

    Composed and Performed by KathBloom

  • dayum, i keep watching the "come here" song scene @ 6:40 over and over. i can't get enough of this movie.

  • I like how he wants to push the hair out of her face for her, but then he holds back for a second , when she does it. I like those little details...there cute.

  • i like how others (like you) notice these nuances, too. this is such a romantic movie.

  • @LNVALENTINE The beauty of expert direction and performance.

  • @LNVALENTINE very true, it's a nice love story.

  • hey there, rrrabit...

  • I liked so much the music scene and how they look each other. It's a special movie with great actors that makes think you everything it's real. It's the real life.

  • my favority cene scene aswell!

    It's so so so real....

I just didn't like the continuation of this movie (before sunset)... This one rocks!

  • yeah, before sunset it's kind of sad... this one makes you feel with hope and like: "oh =3, love is beautiful, even more between two realistic people", and before sunset it's like: "damn! =/, how easy it's to make your life miserable". That's why I just loooove this one =D

  • i love when they're in the record player booth : )

  • In a way, this movie is similar to Jesse's idea for a public access television show about normal people. This movie shows normal people having extraordinary moments together (even though it's not real). It's funny how the fact that this movie so normal makes it so good.

  • I love this movie so much, but for some reason Jesse irritated me when he asked her the "sexual feelings" question with that accent. I guess it was because I couldn't understand the reason for it. But, if he was, indeed, imitating Freud, then it makes sense.

  • one theory regarding the "sexual feelings voice" is that he knew it was a risque question and he might have asked Celine in that voice to seem more playful than lecherous

  • @taurusfroggy he irritated me too, but I think he is meant to. He is obviously a little embarrassed and wants to hide it by being funny, or something. The thing is, he is true to his character in the movie. Like when he gets on his high horse about the fortune teller and the poet.

  • the power of conversation...could lead you places...if u know what I mean *wink* *wink*

I love the way Ethan states how love is a complex issue. then puts sex into it...HAHAHA!

  • gawd I just LOVE ethan hawks character in this movie! I love it when guys can be so open to strangers and just talk to them and make them feel comfortable. sure he can be a lil cynical at times but I find it funny lol. hes a charmer ;D!

  • in the listening both you can just feel the tension between them. the song is wat sets the mood and they just refuse to make eye contact, as if they did, they wouldn't be ale to keep their hands off each other. the work so well together. the chemistry just hits you and makes you feel as if all that is real, like truely possible....and it is...for some

  • i know, the lyrics are so perfect for the situation.

  • wow i just realised that my very own personal argument to reject the idea of reincarnation was taken from a movie i saw when i was 16 ;-)

anyway i'm glad i'm watching it again now because there is a lot more to it than i could grasp back then!

  • Obrigado por ter colocado este filme aki... :)

  • Este filme é o máximo!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh man, I love the part where he looks like he's gonna try and push her hair from her face around 0:49, but then changes his mind. Gah, so adorable.

I honestly can't believe how crazy good their chemistry is. This whole movie is done so beautifully, and spot on. Love, love, love it.

  • I know I love this part too!!! it's the little details that makes them seem so natural...he does something similar in Before Sunset in the scene in the car.

  • Yea, I remember that part! Man, such good movies. haha.

  • this movie teaches us on how to keep it real. everyone should watch this film 'causeit seems that society is increasingly becoming more pretentious and shallow.

  • oh no. i meant 0:48-0:52. and yes, the record store scene. hahaha... priceless.

  • 0:50-0:52 ---> love that moment. LOL. you can't get any more real than that.

  • I love the scene where they are trying to avoid an eye contact. I love this movie. I watched it 4 times and never get tired of it. Those of you who have not watched its sequel Before Sunset, I would recommend that you watch it.

  • thanks.....i was wondering which came first. in fact, if they were even connected. now i know.

  • When they're listening to this song, it's definitely my favourite part of the entire movie! It's beautiful. This whole film is so real, I think that's why I love it so much.

  • the very beginning part of the giutar intro sounds like wherever you may go by the calling :)

  • The scene with the song playing is one of my favorite film scenes of all time. Damn. It's simple, but it's so beautiful.

  • haaha the eye contacts tht started on 6:38 r fkn funny

  • thanx:)

  • "Whats the problem for you?" "You..." hahahaha I used this line before...wonderful movie...

  • It's so cute when they send each other furtive glances in the listening booth... It's so sweet :) It's hard not too smile

I want to fall in love like them...

  • i love how julie sometimes uses slang. it's so cute coming from her. haha. and i love how she just assimilates herself into any culture. she speaks american in la, french in france. she never expects a country to come up to her level. she always seems to try to be a part of the culture she's in.

  • Doh...speaks american?! hahaha. i meant English. geezus crispies. i need to get more sleep.

  • lol

  • ala pari mi bella!!!

    certo!

    jajaja X]

  • It s a bit like the movie SCUM I just finished to watch: same kind of tenderness story.

  • its an exploration of the processes of human thought and the development of ideas.. plus analyzing the characters make for a good english paper..

  • i hope i experience this kind of love one day

they are both amazing in this... great writing

  • lmfao! tht scene when they in the booth with the music looking at eachother then looking away. so hard not to smile love it!

  • p.s I LOVEEEEee this new audio preview, WOW!!!!!!!!! do i lUV it!

it gonna be kinda hard training i think ㅠ_ㅠ

  • why are you mesmerizing it for your english study?

I think it will be really hard because the whole movies based on dialogs and gestures.

  • lol

the sexual questions are man things :)

  • And the other ones are women things

  • Why has he to curse about that wonderful Vienna tram? I love Vienna.

  • Ha! How typical ... His first question is about sex and hers is about love. :)

  • i knew crystal. lol.

  • noone said anything about music cabin.come on guys that's one of the greatest parts!right?

  • Yep, I love moments like that in real life when you know they are looking and both of you keep looking away. The awkwardness and anticipation. Very true and beautiful

  • greatto

  • I ABSOLUTELY love this movie it's so fabulous! But here's my only problem - I was in Europe last year, and went through Budapest, Vienna, Paris all the cities they're in. No Jesse's. Too bad they don't exist cause I would so fall for a guy like this!!!

  • hmmm that's cause you go looking for something that can't be found. It's an unexpected thing.

  • I dunno I mean yeah it was in the back of my mind but I certainly wasn't traveling Europe actively going "Jessie! Come out come out wherever you are!" :-)

By the way this type of thing can happen - you meet someone randomly and just connect with them. Happened to my sister. So that fact gives me hope... but I still haven't found mine... damn!

  • happened to me... around Pisa at night with two German girls without a place to sleep... after all I never got any phone number.. email address or whatever.. and I doubt.. I was like.. "omg this is SO before sunrise"

    :'(

  • Hi, you are not the only one. I was in Europe 18 years ago. I couldn't Celine too.

It's only a romantic dream. You will be a lucky one if it happens in your real life.

    Good Luck !

  • In some cases, though, it might be too painful. As they say, "be careful what you wish for"!

  • There are guys like Jesse out there, but foolish girls throw it all away, destroy their hearts and they change to the vast majority of men you meet.

Luckily I haven't become bitter enough to completely change, but let's say the shell is a bit harder than it once was.

  • @anthonyigo If ur jus gonna blame it all on the woman u weren't one of those men in the first place.

Then again Jesse ain't perfect, he definitely seem immature enough to do that anyway.

  • I would die for this kind of experiences. Honestly. It would be so cool. Even if I end up like they did on Before Sunset.

  • I can understand you, but believe me: You're better up without such an experience. I needed a whole year to require from the pain of being parted... it's too hard, really!

  • Ohhh... Vienna! :)

Im so glad to live in this city since i reminded about this movie hehe

  • the only line i don't like when he asks her about her first sexual experience...what is that voice??? mad scientist lol...but he makes up for it with his scattered souls dribble

  • I like to watch some scenes from time to time. It makes me happy and with that travelling feeling of FREEDOM, PURE FRIEDSHIP AND WONDERFUL EMOTIONS.

    Thanks for posting it all.

    Enjoy the world, everyone!

    V for Veronica

  • this is becoming my favorite romance sequence of all time
