@DryllKyll they are known for producing LESS of the protein that people are allergic to, so it depends on the cat and how bad the allergies are. These guys live in a house that has 2 people with allergies, and no real problems. It helps to bathe them every few weeks also.

@DryllKyll It depends. They produce less of the protein that makes people allergic to the dander. But more people are allergic to a cat's saliva, and Cornish Rexes lick themselves just as much as any other cat.

i have one of these in my neighbourhood, and when i walk the newspaper i always see him :P i love him!! he's indeed very vocal, but i love that so much. these cats are great!!!

I used to have an Oriental Shorthair (orange & white) that talked all the time. Sometimes he even talked when he was asleep! My landlord made me get rid of him after I'd had him over a year. She was a bitch. But that cat loved me, and I loved him. Getting rid of him by taking him to a no-kill shelter was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. But somebody adopted him, which is good I suppose. I miss ya Mo, wherever you are.

@salvolondon Cornish Rexes are part Siamese. They come from tabby cats originally, but they needed to be cross-bred to avoid too much inbreeding. The breed they were cross-bred with was Siamese, which is where they get that meow from. I have a Cornish Rex with that same loud, deep MEOW. :)

I love Cornish Rex cats! They are a lot like dogs. We had one that would come running to the front door when someone knocked and then jump on them and lick them when they came in. He would fetch and would come to you when you called him. I miss him... he ran away and got eaten by a coyote.
