I am Lyn, SlideItEarl, and Didi and I won the next round and 15K in the winner's circle. It is quite a story. I have a tape of the winning part I will try to post next week. How neat to know that I am on youtube.
The only time I ever saw Didi Conn play the Winners Circle was during that infamous 'Famous Losers' episode when she gave an unspecific clue that had cost a contestant (I think his name was Jackie, but uncertain) $20,000. What was unusual, though, was the judges' buzzer sounded off 30+ seconds after they celebrated a win that almost was.
Only 5 subjects were played in this segment. That's quite a rarity right there. There were at least several different occasions in the 80's, where some games had to end prematurely, due to low scoring.
No sooner did I make that post, did I suddenly realize that Fred and his partner were already going for the last subject. Man, the scoring in this version was a little off. Thank god they improved on it dramatically by 1982.
Fred and Lynn were competing for a perfect-score bonus; otherwise, their subject would not have been played. Dick didn't exactly let Jan down easy with that "destined to lose" remark!

Dick was often very negative in his comments on Pyramid.
