Wow, sad to say the depth of his vocal has left him over the years. Aging kinda sucks in some ways. He's been through a lot though, it must be nice to still be gigging, and his fans have been so supportive.
I am grateful for our Canadian brothers and sisters contribution to the North American arts. But it would be a slight bit of exaggeration to say "most US actors and actresses, singers, etc" are Canadian. I think it's a great credit to our two countries that it's sometimes hard to know the difference...
@gfwhome gfwhome .....Yes Yes, I truly agree, Gords tunes are pure and timeless....easy on the ears.....but gfwhome......when you insinuate that our American friends have an entertainment industry largely based on Canadian talent, well, ....you embarass yourself, and other Canadians like myself, and open up tables of criticism from the U.S, and other nations, and, rightfully so.
That remark is narrow, and offensive to say the least. Gordon himself would agree that our friends and neighbours to the south have provided endless sources of well talented and well appreciated entertainment. They inspire us, make us think, and make us laugh..and I am sure we do the same for them....
cont'd....Remember that comments like yours builds walls- not bridges, with two fine , deeply talented countries in music, the arts, film, theatre..etc etc....As iowa61 said above ." I think it's a great credit to our two countries that it's sometimes hard to know the difference... " I am a Canadian with great pride too, but I have learned that there is a unique crossing of talent from one border to the other, and i think that's what makes North America pretty special... note to gfwhome....
I saw him at Wolf Trap in Vienna VA, right outside of DC. An absolutely fabulous show. The only thing is...Carefree Highway is my favorite song and he only sang two verses. He skipped one. I was a little disappointed--but overall, a wonderful night!
It's so funny that people keep commenting that they saw the Charleston show... I live in Charleston, but saw the show in Columbia because my sister bought the tickets and she lives there... I tell ya, I love NCPA center, but Koger was great for discreet taping! I was way up on the balcony and the video STILL turned out pretty darned good. Gord is the man!!!
I was at the Charleston show...fantastic. I hope he returns so that I can take my son (who is 9) to see him. What a pleasure to sit and listen to a true artist. He is loved and appreciated by us all.
He came again to Michigan. He played at the Meadowbrook Music Festival in Rochester Hills, Michigan (July 23, 2009). I wanted to go and see him (finally) before he stops touring.
For the encore which was only one song, I shouted out for the tune, "Old Dan's Records." HE PLAYED IT!
I saw him the night before in Charleston, SC. He is the most original and intimate performer alive today. There is no one else like him. The emotion of the folks in the audience was visable as they listened to the beautiful ballads and remembered where they fit into their lives.
He's still got it!

@dean605 Well, strictly speaking, being Canadian would also make him an American. Last time I checked, Canada was part of this continent as well.
