Given that an everuday driver will never take them to the limit on a track i prefer a slightly modded z06 as in cam, exhaust, intake,far cheaper and will be faster than a zr1.My 2007 z06 is very fast and its all stock.Learning to drive either car to its limit is already a challenge for non professional drivers.

@camirocz your cam intake and exhaust is not faster then this ZR1 which also has a pulley upgrade now. The handling of the 2 cars is way diff the braking, the driving experience on the track. This car is tracked on the regular and the Z06 used to be but does not anymore, why because the ZR1 is far superior, Simple. When you have both and have the chance to run them on the track multiple times come back and chat. Z06 is a great car but the ZR1 is better.

Can people not have opinions on here? I love these keyboard tough guys. I for one would rather have the Vette. Its faster, has better braking, and is an American made car. But for looks I think the GTR is better and the AWD is awesome. The interior is nicer, but I for one do not car about interiors. I dont buy the car to show off the interior. Im satisfied with my F-body Camaro's interior which is poor. For the money you cant beat the ZR-1. Compare it to Ferrari, Lambo and Porsche.

Im just saying there are better places to spend your money. Atleased with a GTR you can't take your finger and push the bumper in and out, and you don't get that cheap plastic drab of a colbalt interior. You can continue commenting, but im done. Your $100,000 car will depreciate so fast it will make your head spin, as the GTR will actually hold it's value. it is going to take more then a few changes to make the Z06 a better car then the ZR1. straight line speed sure u can make a honda beat it or anythign else fast in that matter, but its the finer things liek the magnetic suspension the enzo brakes and the tranny , list goes on.

Big price diff in the 2 so saying for the money doesnt really make sense.

check out the new carbon Z06, highlights of the Zr1 liek the brakes and few other things put into the z06, pretty bad ass car,

@thevettedude66 its heavier cause of the blower. Your talking mods so mod the ZR1 too, headers cam bump up the boost and then your looking at having to rebuild your ls7 so it can handle boost to be able to throw down with the ZR1.

The track is what its good for, where you want to use these cars and what they were built for!

Im simply stating that yes, the ZR1 is a great car, but it is poorly made in alot of aspec's, same plain plasticy interior, a bumper which you can push in with your fingers, and I just can't justify the price simple because it's not all out a beautiful car.

The GT-R is amazingly aero dynamic, a real amazing machine, every peice of the car has been crafted to make it handle the best, hold it down, and make it solid. The interior is art and gorgeous, and it is so much of a better car. Sorry

My father own's a GTR, and my dad's friend owns a ZR1. I have driven both at the track. When I purchase cars, I do it overall quality and performance, and for $100,000 I expect a better looking and better put together interior than the vet that looks similar to a colbalt. Not to mention all wheel drive is huge plus. Im not saying the vet is junk, im saying the GTR is better for overall reliability, and build quality.

c6 z06s do not come factory with a targa top, but there is a company out there that cuts out the hard top on c6 z06s to create a targa top at a price of around $10,000........

Actually it doesnt need to be cut off, the Z06 roof is held in by roughly 10-12 bolts give or take. I watched them be put on during a factory tour.

zo6 is a larger engine that is naturally aspirated the zr1 engine is a 6.2 liter engine with a supercharger on it. They are both expensive but durable for what they were engineered for

The only recomendation I can make to you guys on your video would be to get a 3rd Vette(it would have to be a 2nd ZR1, I'm sorry, there is just no way around this) so you can keep up with the other 2 while filming. And I'm sure you'd agree with that. >: )

It's a custom roof? GM delete the targa top on Z06 and ZR1 models to increase body rigidity. I suppose it's possible that he didn't care about that and just wanted the targa roof, but it's definitely a possibility that it's a fake because you could order a C6 with a 427 back in 2005 when the Z06 hadn't been released yet. Then all you'd need is a widebody kit and Z06 spec wheels, tires and brakes and you have an almost Z06.
