  • That sucks my 96 gt has 146k and still goin strong

  • This is what happens when you just start up and gun it. let the goddamn engine warm up

  • at 69k miles..... you didnt drive the piss outa it or anything.....

  • thats sounds bad :(

  • hey man that sucks but hey time for a up grade .....did it ever cut off on you when you drove it ......

  • How the hell did you spin a rod bearing at 69K? lol

  • You should not continue to drive your car in that condition...

The engine will get completely fucked up if you don't stop the engine when you hear

    the spun rod bearings...

  • time for a 5.4 sohc better tq then the dohc

  • you don't still have the engine do you?

  • Hey bro my 2000 GT has the same problem. About how much was the fix for this?? I've heard it was about 1800$ so for that I'd rather put a new motor in it. What do you think?

  • Yeah driving it was probably the best thing you could have done at this point.

  • how does one wreck one of these engines ?

  • @twostrokeornill1 low oil or redlining is the most common but even too high psi supercharger that the motor cant handle can start wrecking internal parts only made for certain horsepower im just gessing i dont no what this guy did to this motor

  • i guess u cant get on it in a gt...haha

  • 70 thousand miles?? dont take care of shit huh?

  • let me tell ya somthing guys a 5.0 can get 500.000 on them you just gotta change the oil and not beat the fuck out of them every 5 seconds you gotta give em a brake for an hour

  • The 4.6 is a solid engine, but any engine can have a defect.

  • Wow. And not even 70K on the odometer. That's a typical Ford for ya.

FORD = Fix Or Repair Daily.

  • @fretwizard420

Abuse, simple as that. Well, and 4.6.

My 302 up until that last rebuild had over 200K on it. Tore it down, and thanks to Mobil 1 syn, it was clean as a whistle.

  • @fretwizard420 Typical rice burner response.

  • @selby792 My "rice burner" has over 270K on it, doesn't burn a drop of oil, gets almost 40mpg, and I whipped a 4.6 GT's slow ass even with other heads in the car. I'll take my "nonsense" any day over a Ford. Especially a Rustang. Well, maybe not a supercharged one : )

  • @fretwizard420 hahahahahahahahahahaha fuck you

  • Whoever assembled that engine at the factory needs kicked.

  • Did you get your new engine put in. Just wondering make a vid if you did. :)

  • 70, 000 and that pos ford ate it, gotta love it

  • @blazinloud This is very rare for a 4.6. Cops abuse those engines for up to 300,00km, then cab drivers for another 300,000...

  • what does "knocking" mean?

  • my engines got lifter knock and im to lazy to fix that too, guess im an assclown :(

  • @superfly1842 well bad lifters can eventually bend the valves bro

  • assclown

  • The worst part is that a good rule of thumb is you can't just throw new bearings in and call it a day. You have to send the crankshaft to a machine shop to get machined undersized to fit new bearings, along with inspecting crank run out and such. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that's what you're "supposed" to do anyway.

  • @CivSi02 Not worth it. Better off buying an engine from a scrap yard.

  • sound like a diesel

  • lol!!!!!!!spun a bearing at 69 thousand miles!!!!dam fords!!!!!!!my olds 350 went 350,000 miles b4 a rebuild never spun a bearing just had a flat cam an a few noisy lifters...GM 4 life!!!!!!!!

  • @philthyco lol so thats why they call it a 350 haha

  • @p4ndiamond lol!yea i guess so huh..

  • @philthyco I agree but I just spun a bearing in my 98camaro z28.. : ( its got 190000 on her though.. not too bad at all!

  • lets drive it while its knocking so it can eat into the crank, grand idea?

  • @MrFancysauce1 it was already fucked and I had a new engine ready to go in but thanks

  • @hemicuda33 really? you bought a new engine cause of a spun bearing? could of just pulled the motor and replaced the connecting rod bearings in you didn't drive it like you were..and throw your crank journal or jounals out of round.. your PUD for buying a whole new motor.. your an even bigger poon for having the name "hemicuda33" and driving a ford mustang

  • @hemicuda33 I hope you learn to change the oil and not take it past 8k rpms you fucking woman.

  • @hemicuda33 lets hope you learn to change the oil and not keep pegging the rev limiter on 35k mile oil this go round eh?

  • so lets drive it and let it dig into the crank?

  • yeah lets drive while it has a spun rod bearing, and let it eat into the crank. that sucks

  • dang. and only 69,000 miles.

  • oh my god people. Seriously? This car has a speed limiter, and the engine has a rev limiter. It doesn't matter if your in neutral or not. If you technically "over-rev" the engine, its likely due to mis-shifting...aka finding 2nd gear instead of 4th while driving spiritedly. A rev limiter can't stop a driver error.

  • @cokedoctor don't forget lack of oil changes or.......running it low on oil

  • Are those V8 prone to spinning a bearing? I hear of this quite often.

  • i remember that sound. Now i like my mmr600 shortblock.

  • did you run it out of oil

  • hey my 2000 mustang gt had the same problem, i was low on oil and i over reved the motor. now i have a fulley built 4.6 (284ci) and im about to install either a kenne bell 2.6h or 2.8h. not sure which one will be picked. both are great superchargers.

  • who gives a fuck, this video is about a godam knocking rod... nobody cares about your car that doent exist... thats gonna have a supercharger.... which does exist... but not on make-believe cars you dipshit..

  • wow your just a psycho faggot. too bad you got a rod spun in your asshole.

  • WOW with just 69,000 miles i was always told the 4.6L was a peace of junk.

  • He missed a shift, that means he probably over revved it pretty good.

  • How do you over revve a car with a govener on it lol

  • @Larryadam2 A car with a governor is easy to over rev. Simply put it in neutral and floor it. A governor only limits a cars speed. Your probably thinking about a rev limiter which restricts the engines maximum rotational speed.

  • same thing only way to over rev a car is if you have a standerd

  • Not to be a dick, but you know those numbers with the red background behind them mean that you are in the 'over-rev' range.

  • Not the cobra 4.6!!! You can rev it all day long to 7100rpm and it'll stay the same!!!

  • what was the problem, please reply, i got the same problem, THANKS

  • its a spun bearing where have you been?

  • How did it happen?

  • Comment removed

  • lol, i had similar but louder noise and took top half of motor apart hoping for it to be valve train but fearing worse like main bearing etc.

Ended up being melted piston. Pretty much worse case scenario. Now my 302 mustang is a 347 stroker with 6k into motor dyno'd 409 RWHP.

  • hey but that just gave you an excuse to build your motor so its not all bad haha

  • True, true, I'm in total agreement.

  • @knfjdkghjudfhsgkjdhf lol my friend has a ms3. it had a bad fuel injector..make a long story short melted a piston.

  • damn same shit happened last week to me

  • do you have any loss of power?

  • Time for a 5.4 DOHC!

  • Well when it has a spun bearing, your looking at a complete rebuild or replacement anyways, so it's not like getting it fixed sooner would have made a huge difference. Used engine would probably be the best bet since 4.6's don't often go bad.

  • my truck does that too. i am told that its the valves but i have no idea. let me know

  • headers
