Those girls don't deserve to be at the front of the line. I mean, they refer to Brendon as the "lead singer", like they don't even know his name, and one of them is wearing an Academy Is... shirt (no offense to them, I listen to them too) at a freaking Panic! concert. They don't even like the band for the right reasons! Ugh...
@Michaeljackson450 Yeah me too... I've never got the chance to see them performing and those b*tches can see them every week and they don't even know there names... (sorry for the word i'm upset :p)
Well, honestly, I used to... I knew him after his death and I loved his music for 2 years, considering myself as a HUGE FAN and that I would be for the rest of my life, but know I knew P!ATD, and realised I wasn't the fan I used to be... And u?
@liiloulovemj same i thought that id be in love with him forever but now i realize tht it was jjust a phase it was weird at first not feeling the same way as i used to about him but now i see that hes not the onl musicle genious
@Michaeljackson450 Yeah me too I avoid talking about that to my parents because I look like the one who always change her thing, and gettin' through phases
I still have MJ's music on ipod but I have a PATD and FOB playlist I play everytime I try sometimes to listen to MJ to forget PATD, but I don't like his music anymore :'(
Yeah at the beginning it's weird, you try to tell yourself "yeah, i'm not a fan, I just like some other music..." but it's not true
@liiloulovemj i like FOB and PATD too a lil more thn mj i was the biggest fan ever so like ppl think its weird and ask me questions whenever im listening to someone else but back in like 2006 when i write sins not trageties came out i was rlly into tht song and so a lil while ago i was listening to it cuz i remembered it and i just started thinking about all the music from then and i got rlly into FOB and PATD again wbu
@Michaeljackson450 It was a year ago, and I saw a comercial, you know the "open happiness" coca cola comercial? And I knew Brendon Urie, and did a little research about him but I didn't cared much...
And then, in maybe april, I turned on the tv, I saw on MTV the ballad of mona lisa music video, and told to myself "well, i know that guy, I'm sure I know him..." and I also liked the music, and I've searched a little more about him and listened to PATD music... And that how I fell in love <3 hhh
i remember the song names :) me and my friend demarian call Panic the band with the long ass titles :) i love them though so its all great :) love old and new panic
i love their songs!!!i love the lyrics but, i forget the names too. i recognize the song, but not by it's name. and i'm a BIG fan of Panic! at the Disco!
I didn't know Brendon Urie and the rest of the band were sexy ass motherfuckers until after I fell completely in love with Pretty. Odd. People think that fans who talk about how sexy some of them are "only care about looks" or some kind of shit like that. Yes, A FEW FANS do- but I would hate to be classified that way because I DO talk about their looks- quite a lot I may add. But you don't understand what the lyrics have done to me. I could write pages upon pages but I'm given a word limit here.
see when i first heard one of their songs (like a few months ago) i really liked listening to them cause they were catchy and thought they had no meanin then i saw this and then i listened more closely and i knew the meaning of most of their songs
and i wonder which one is have the illusion to the sound of music
@TaylorBaylorO8O5 The song that has a similar illusion to The Sound of Music is Build God, Then We'll Talk. Its near the end of the song. It's the tune to "My Favourite Things".
@TaylorBaylorO8O5 Towards the end of 'Build God, Then We'll Talk' the lyrics, "There are no raindrops on roses, or girls in white dresses..." and, "And a few more of your least favorite things," are direct references to the song 'Favorite Things' from The Sound Of Music. The original lyrics from the musical were, "The are raindrops on roses," and, "Girls in whites dresses," and, "These are a few of my favorite things."
wow... I'm 12 and I understand and appreciate Panic!'s music way more for what it is than those chicks... sometimes even if I don't love the song, I can at least enjoy it for the lyrics, not for some catchy melody...
I'm 12 and I understand Ryan's lyrics, or at least I really try. I like Panic because there songs are catchy and really nice, but the lyrics for Pretty Odd are really deep and they've actually brought tears to my eyes. I love them so much I can't even
sorry but i wish theyd go back to the first album. like i need ryan to write songs for panic again. him and jon need to gtfo out young veins and come back to panic and everyone will be happy again.
@ggLover87 Hiatus is when the bad doesn't want to break up but they need a break. The point of it is so they aren't broke up. Technically the band is still together even though they aren't producing any work at the moment.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
RYAN ... get the fuck over yourself.. im sick of hearing how your way of music is soo different from everybody else... shut the fuck up ... AFYCSO was an amazing record but youre not that different from other bands ... But thats probably why they split anyways.. Ryan thought he could start a whole new revolution by bringing back the beatles... butttt i mean you cant complain to much cause he was successful with AFYCSO
@LookatDatMasterWeezy he's not praising himself, he's complimenting their band. its not his music, it's their music, and he said that the way he writes makes their band a little bit different from other bands. isn't it good to be different? i mean could you imagine if all bands were the same? lol that'd be weird
@LookatDatMasterWeezy I personally have never heard anything like Fever or Pretty Odd. To me, they really sound SO different from everything. The Young Veins...well not so much. Almost a carbon-copy of the Beatles. And I love the Beatles...but it could be more original.
Just look at the lyrics to Fever....there are a TON of allusions to movies and books and random things. He is such a talented lyricist. And the musicality of the record is so unique...in my opinion.
they asked him questions about lyrics, the music, etc. and he's just answering the question honestly. and yes his music and lyrics are unique so he has every right to brag (even though he's not even bragging) about himself. and not that different from other bands? i would love to see another band that could make something like AFYSCO or pretty odd. and yeah the young veins are very 60s, but still unique in my opinion.
LOL those girls like 'we like Panic cause they're catchy' then Brendon just says 'we're not gonna write songs just so people say, oh thats a catchy tune'.
Ryan looks adorable in this vid, to start with. And i love how they're really persistent about there fans actually "liking" their music. For a while, it was the whole "Oh my gosh, they're so hot!" chaos. They seem(ed) to care a lot about their music, unlike other artists out there, who let other people write their songs for them. You look at P!ATD and you see a couple of complete goofballs, but then, during interviews, they're suddenly so... matured. I love these guys!
THe lyrics are my favorite part of AFYCSO. I mean, you can totally tell that the songs were written for the lyrics, not the other way around. I love the meaning that they put behind there words, and how you can just read them, read them again the next day, and be able to interpret them differently. I think that the importance and feeling behind lyrics is lost on a lot of musicians now days. I mean you look at people like Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber, Katy Perry ect. and it's all about the same thing
haha its funny cuz the fans were just like "we like them because their songs are catchy :D"and then ryan is like the piont of the songs arnet beacuse they are catchy its just like pawned XD i love how jon keeps playing the bells while they r arguing :D
Lol when Bden was saying how Ryan tells him about how to sing it, I can just imagine them sitting in a basement with Ryan like 'noooo Brendon your doing it WRONG" >;]
i used to think people who were younger, didn't really understand music as well as lder people do, but i'm starting to see age doesnt really matter, cuz as you can see the girls in the video are like 19 and 20 and like panic! cuz the melodies are "catchy" and they don't even remember the title of the songs. while at the same time there are these 12 yr olds who really seem to get it. so yea i guess it just kinda depends what kind of person you are and how well you're able to understand music
@Emilyy182 FINALLY. Someone who understands me. I was 7 when i heard them, and i researched just to understand them. I knew their names, life stories, and my friends would call me a stalker2. Here i am 13, and i still appreciate and understand their music. While as those girls think their, "catchy". Pfft.
Does anyone know which kind of loafers Ryan is wearing in this interview as you can see between 3:40 - 3:47 and again at 4:32 and 4:40 ? Please tell me if you have any information :)
Awe, They are such an inspiration and ppl just don't know how upsetting it is when they bash on them. & Now Ryan & Jon are leaving. Just makes everyone feel worse. I LOVE Panic! 4 ever!
I hate how some fan girls can't even get the names of their songs right. Hah... wow. You have to look deeper into their music... not just listen to the 'catchy tune' and rave about their looks. Of course they're good looking but they also wrote amazing lyrics and are wonderful musicians and should be known for THAT.
i agree 100 percent, people get all mad at me if they just like a band that is lables as something or that is cachy and i tell them more about the band like panic they call me a stalker just because i know alot. I look up to them, people cant seem to understand
i love their first album(: it was ust totally different to anything else. I really lvoe how Ryan talks, always so serious, even when he's joking around(: he's adorable. talented in many ways:]
im 12 and i understand every word on every song they have ever written. i hate that people think that just because i am younger than everyone else that i dont understand anything they write. I lve music and the main thing i pay attention to are the lyrics.
same, i'm a year older than you, i first became a fan of Panic! after i read the lyrics to build god, i'd never read lyrics anything like that before, lyrics that told a story, i hadn't even heard them nor saw what they looked like!
I agree. I was 12 when I discovered them and I still like 'em now....I always hated how everyone thinks people our age only focus on stuff like image, looks, and even just the melody. I always focused on everything behind the melody (like the harmonies and drums) as well as the lyrics.
I know, me too. I feel in love with Panic basically for Ryan's lyrics and the stories they told with their music videos and concerts. And I was like 11.
im not talking about the comments about being young and understanding the music just as much, because i totally agree. I am about the same age as all of the people that wrote those comments, and I think it is completely stereotypical how somepeople say we cant interpret the music like others can. sorry about that schpeal..
There are teens that can interpret and understand the songs, sure. But the ones I see the most of, are the "OMG HE'S HOTT" kind. Find me a website that spends as much time dealing with their lyrics as it does with their looks, or talks about the actual music as much as about Brendon's ass.
Not to mention that a large group of these fans can't spell for shit. And that doesn't mean they don't understand the lyrics, but it means a lot of people (myself included) won't take them seriously enough.
sure their good looking, but they're great musicians and should be known for that.
i'm just saying that the one's who look at them as a band (who are my age) probably think the same way about the other fans that only listen to them because of ryhawks and guyliner
see this makes me sad cause i was like, eleven when fever came out and they were in my town and big.
and i was too young to go to "not pg" bands and i wasnt into music yet.
i just wish i was like one year older so i couldve just experienced one of their cabret shows, just so i could mark it down in the things that ive done. it really gets me down when i think about it too.
when i heard i write sins not tragedies first, i was about the same age and i thought like ew, that's too rock-ish or something, because it was cool to listen to britney and other girly stuff, you know.. god i regret that now.
There's a theory that singers and lyricists usually fall in love because of that connection. However, seeing as not the entirety of the fan population believes in Ryden, I suppose you could see it as a close friendship, as well.

Lol when Bden was saying how Ryan tells him about how to sing it, I can just imagine them sitting in a basement with Ryan like 'noooo Brendon your doing it WRONG" >;]
This was so cute. Love them too much.

i used to think people who were younger, didn't really understand music as well as lder people do, but i'm starting to see age doesnt really matter, cuz as you can see the girls in the video are like 19 and 20 and like panic! cuz the melodies are "catchy" and they don't even remember the title of the songs. while at the same time there are these 12 yr olds who really seem to get it. so yea i guess it just kinda depends what kind of person you are and how well you're able to understand music

Pfft.
e.o (trying to do a eyeroll face)

Does anyone know which kind of loafers Ryan is wearing in this interview as you can see between 3:40 - 3:47 and again at 4:32 and 4:40 ? Please tell me if you have any information :)
Crusoe18 2 years ago
I crack up at 4:10 each time! And I love how they're like "Jon, are you going to play the bells, Jon?
"Jon?"
"Jon! bells!"
shannabanana11 2 years ago 8
Awe, They are such an inspiration and ppl just don't know how upsetting it is when they bash on them. & Now Ryan & Jon are leaving. Just makes everyone feel worse. I LOVE Panic! 4 ever!
xXcheckersXx 2 years ago 4
I hate how some fan girls can't even get the names of their songs right. Hah... wow. You have to look deeper into their music... not just listen to the 'catchy tune' and rave about their looks. Of course they're good looking but they also wrote amazing lyrics and are wonderful musicians and should be known for THAT.
SkaterGirl53781 2 years ago 6
Agreed. The whole album is like this whole story and tragedies :) i love it.
NeonBlinker 2 years ago
i agree 100 percent, people get all mad at me if they just like a band that is lables as something or that is cachy and i tell them more about the band like panic they call me a stalker just because i know alot. I look up to them, people cant seem to understand
XxXgoodnightmaresXxX 2 years ago 4
the same thing happens to me all the time!
i understand you haha

i love their first album(: it was ust totally different to anything else. I really lvoe how Ryan talks, always so serious, even when he's joking around(: he's adorable. talented in many ways:]

im 12 and i understand every word on every song they have ever written. i hate that people think that just because i am younger than everyone else that i dont understand anything they write. I lve music and the main thing i pay attention to are the lyrics.
pEtecrayzy 2 years ago 13
same, i'm a year older than you, i first became a fan of Panic! after i read the lyrics to build god, i'd never read lyrics anything like that before, lyrics that told a story, i hadn't even heard them nor saw what they looked like!
PinkButterfly2004 2 years ago 2

And I was like 11.
xxXprettyoddXxx 2 years ago 2
im not talking about the comments about being young and understanding the music just as much, because i totally agree. I am about the same age as all of the people that wrote those comments, and I think it is completely stereotypical how somepeople say we cant interpret the music like others can. sorry about that schpeal..
beba5678 2 years ago 2
There are teens that can interpret and understand the songs, sure. But the ones I see the most of, are the "OMG HE'S HOTT" kind. Find me a website that spends as much time dealing with their lyrics as it does with their looks, or talks about the actual music as much as about Brendon's ass.
Not to mention that a large group of these fans can't spell for shit. And that doesn't mean they don't understand the lyrics, but it means a lot of people (myself included) won't take them seriously enough.
Rea84 2 years ago 2
I know, it's really stupid
sure their good looking, but they're great musicians and should be known for that.
i'm just saying that the one's who look at them as a band (who are my age) probably think the same way about the other fans that only listen to them because of ryhawks and guyliner
beba5678 2 years ago 3
you are so beyond right.
i COMPLETELY agree.
NarcoticxLullaby 2 years ago
wow that is kind of sad
most of these comments are about ryans hair instead of their music...

xxxlovestingsxxx 2 years ago
see this makes me sad cause i was like, eleven when fever came out and they were in my town and big.
and i was too young to go to "not pg" bands and i wasnt into music yet.
i just wish i was like one year older so i couldve just experienced one of their cabret shows, just so i could mark it down in the things that ive done. it really gets me down when i think about it too.
sdgal12 2 years ago 5
exaactley.
when i heard i write sins not tragedies first, i was about the same age and i thought like ew, that's too rock-ish or something, because it was cool to listen to britney and other girly stuff, you know.. god i regret that now.
ugh, i feel exactly like you.
Felicuous 2 years ago
i liked sins it just didnt occur to me to check them out you know? i was like huh, i wonder who sings that?
i thought the song was called panic at the disco :]

its funny when they were arguing that jon just starts playing the bells.
RainbowExplosive 2 years ago 3
There's a theory that singers and lyricists usually fall in love because of that connection. However, seeing as not the entirety of the fan population believes in Ryden, I suppose you could see it as a close friendship, as well.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Kinda not all he had some help for the band and with weed! lol
Elliecute8 2 years ago
No. He wrote some songs, like Northern Downpour, but everyone chipped in for most of them. Nine in the Afternoon, for example, was a group effort.
I don't think they were high, elliecute8. Most of their songs make a lot of sense if you can interpret metaphors. xD
Brendon wrote folkin' around and I have friends in holy spaces, just for the record.
