Indeed it is the "jealous woman". I love how the puppet changes emotions. When it resembles a human being, you cant even see the lines that suggest the opening of the puppet.

Yes, in the play Hidakagawa Iriaizakura the woman, Kyohime is transformed into a demon because of her jealousy. She falls in love with a man who wants to become a Buddhist monk, so he leaves her. She stalks him until she comes to the river he had crossed. The monk told the boatman not to let her pass, but Kyohime is so angry she turns into a dragon-like demon & swims across, goes to the temple where he is hiding in a temple bell. She blows fire on the bell, turning her lover to ash.
