....I live in the south of Spain and this year's, winter 2009/10 (our winter) has been the wettest on record in Andalucia. I wonder, if all these subtropical plants has survive the hash winter that the UK and northern Europe has gone through with all snow and deep freeze of this past winter and the cold spring, you guys are having.??
@gardenalien yes winter was bad but even here in my garden in Holland most subtr. plants and trees survived with some protection, trachchycarpus even without protection, they can adapt to cold weather and after the years will be more and more hardy

I love Exotic gardens. Our garden is overflowing with Palms and other subtropical plants. We have been growing them for 25 years now,
