  • nick may have been an asshole, but the song becomes so average without his vocals

  • @deathspasm9 Exactly, like trying to play Quick and to the pointless without Nick.

  • I can actually hear Dean playing tambourine in this one

  • mikey is fucking awesome. i would like to hear a performance of this song where he sings the whole thing like nick used to do.

  • @lmrichetti yeah i agree

  • I think Mikey should sing this.

His scream is just too good not to sing this song

  • 1:10

I always hear ' Space fucking, on the floor'.

  • it needs nick.

    qotsa just need nick.

  • AHAHHAHAHAAHAH, i miss mr mondo generator!Nick Oliveri! Without him, QOTSA is just a middle band!

  • @yellowmrbungle Yeah, I can see that. just look how small the crowd are... DUH!

  • Comment removed

  • nick's a great bassist and singer(when he's not screaming) i liked what he brought to QOTSA even the craziness but don't bash cause if it weren't for him we would'nt have such good classics and mick is just as good in his own way so fuck you guys bashing nick peace out

  • Josh's guitar sounds out of tune...

  • @SBK4EVA @ Its in C Standard, If I recall correctly.

  • @SBK4EVA your ears are out of tune

  • who was at reading 2010? how was Queens? please upload videos from yesterday

  • This version works. End of discussion.

  • replacing nick no problem.

  • Wow, they really pull this off well :) Would be cool to hear how it would sound with just Mikey screaming..

  • have mikey sing the song josh!

  • josh should let mikey sing this song. mikeys screams are intense!

  • Is that matt bellamy at 2:19!? It looks just like him.

  • @joeisaflyingfish it is too! he should form a superband with josh

  • @joeisaflyingfish most likely, he's a huge ratm fan so he probably would've been there

  • You can see Matt Bellamy from Muse at 2:19! Awesome!

  • Lovin the MotorAve guitar Josh has, badass

  • PPL YOU NEED TO GET OVER THE NICK THING ALREADY! EVEN OLIVERI IS OVER IT..

THIS BAND IS AWESOME & JOSHUA CARRIES IT WITH AFFECTION, DIRECTION & EASE. HE IS TRUE INSPIRATION.

PS cydoniansherieff, ive met Mickey Shoes Shuman and seen his other band Jubilee play live, he is a young and very talented musician, but as for this song, i think the point was they do it together an the harmonies worked quite nicely :)

QOTSA are a force in music, a unique blend in its chemistry & gardians of rocknroll

  • the bassist should sing this song.. Josh fuckin ruined it

ooooooooh here come the thumbs down

Yas all know the bassist would do a much better job, listen to that screach!

  • @cydoniansheriff

Could not agree anymore my friend! im happy to take thumbs down for sayin it, but Josh just kills it! It need's that raw SCREAMIN!!!

  • I am not saying about Nick Oliveri as a person, but what i am saying is that his bass playing on songs for the deaf was excelent and had a certain feel which is his own individual style. Mikey brings a different, if enigmatic style to the band which i still love. They are different bassists with different styles recording different albums, so tbh you can't judge them. Nick was fantastic during his time, and Mikey is fantastic now... so just move on.

  • @ Droctagon - Nick never played on the first QOTSA album, his picture was on the back and you heard him during a voice mail message but thats it.

I like the SFTD version of this but the Original is better

  • yeah i know nick didnt play on studio album, or write the songs, I was purely referring to his live performances of the first albulms songs, and specifically his own style that he's added to those songs over the years of playing them.

  • i love this song. but it needs to be sreemed. why doesnt micky do it. i mean he joins in now and then but he needs to do the whole thing now that nicks gone. josh is still the best but its just that the first time i heard this song nick sang it so thats how i like it

  • I prefer this song performed in all screaming, it's so much more intense. When Josh just sings it, it looses something...

  • fuck he can scream.

As great as Oliveri was, he is no longer needed.

  • nick was a fucking douchebag.

  • whoa the new bassist can scream real good. why isn't he singing lead for this song?

  • holy shit the bassist can scream like a motherfucker :D dont remeber his screaming bein like that

  • Nobody can replace nick, but qotsa is still the best band in the world.

  • a monkey with no hands could replace Nick "The woman beater" Oliveri.

  • was he ever convicted?

  • Well dude, Mikey is a fucking legend/beast

  • Not really. He was an average bass player and compare that to the fact he beat his girlfriend it doesn't really add up to legend.

  • WAIT HE DID? WHEN?

    WHA?

    So did Nick huh?

I'm QOTSA's new Bassist. Its been declared.

why? Cus I cant get a girlfriend.

    So I wont beat her.

  • the only thing average here is your opinion and music knowledge. say what yo will about him morally, but he is the best bass player queens ever had, and a severely underrated rock and punk bassist period.

  • What makes him so good? He probably only ever played what he was told and the new guy even does that better.

  • c'mon bro, you're killing me here. It's the other way round, nick co wrote many of the songs and contributed his own songs to rated R, and SFTD. Mikey is the fill in here. Listen carefully to the subtlety and power of nick on 1st 3 QOTSA albums. Also watch more live clips of him, please, you cannot compare mickey to nick. Have a look at nicks discography and contributions on wikipedia for starters, then look at mikeys.

  • all i can say is that its a shame i cant give you 100 thumbs up. its true nick is by far the best bass player they've had and queens, even though they are strill the best band of this time, they are not the same without nick.

  • its the truth aint it? While queens are still musically up there, the last couple of albums have lacked a certain amount of balls wouldn't you say, and not a diss on mikey but having him scream on backing vocals in a couple of songs aint balls.

  • aye thats right to be fair my favourite two albums by them were self titled then rated r they are just far better. aye the new albums arent driving enough really. i know misfit love is, but thats like one song. good albums, but not as good. exactly nick is explosive mikey is just a good bass player doing a few scream lines.

  • Aye, my last comments on this subject is that nicks like a fuckin pissed off pitbull that just got kicked up the arse, and hell, thats why queens of yesteryear where so kickass, their volatility, combined with some of the subtlety and intricacy of their "lighter songs", which provided the full gamut of music to satisfy every mood, while nowdays their albulms are more "uniform" in a way.

  • @droctagon3k well said!!

  • dude, you've got your facts wayyy mixed up, don't let that start as a rumour. :P

it was NICK who beat his girlfriend, and that's why he was asked to leave.

    Not Mikey.

  • Fucking hell!I Just realised how all that looks.. I meant nick not Mikey, I like mikey! haha.

  • mickeys scream is awesome

  • @zero0ism Mikey's actually a really good fit for this band and a pretty solid musician. As for Nick, fuck Nick. Ima have to agree with mr.... Hektor88 on this one. Nick was a trashy individual period and I think having Shoes in his place was a better choice. I've been listening to QoTSA since they started (so I pretty much grew up listening to them starting in like MS...) and honestly, I think this is the best line-up for the band.

  • drum intro is awesome

  • i love the song and joeys intro:-D

  • Matt Bellamy cites Rated R in his top five albums of all time.

  • and he also said that when he was writing black holes and revelations he was listening to lullabies to paralyze the whole time and it really influenced his record

  • even if dean isn't doing much, like in this song, it still has a great influence on the band :)

  • Comment removed

  • Ahh!! It is Matty!!!

  • Rage Against The Machine were on after Queens and Matt is a big Rage and Tom Morello fan so he was probably waiting to see them.

Although he most likely also wanted to see Queens since they are so bad ass.

  • Mikey shoes is so awesome doing millionaire

  • was that matt bellamy from muse at 2:20?

  • i think it is, how the fuck did you spot that?!

  • i think it is him! u have superhuman eyesight.

  • Look's a lot like him. It's so creepy how you only see him for a fraction of a second. I don't think Muse were even playing last year, were they? Why was he there?

  • Whoa, mindf**k!

One of my favourite bands WATCHING another of my favourite bands...

  • Mikey Shoes would kill on this song! Josh should let him give it a go!

  • honestly! this song just isnt the same without nick's screaming, mikey should do it.

  • 1:41 deano with the effort ;)

  • mikey shoes has an excellent scream.

i hope he stays, he has energy, unlike Alain, although, alain was kinda in a different situation.

i dont know what i'm trying to say.

  • Yeah, he probably learned to scream from his gorlfriend when he was beating her.

Good for them for kicking him out. He did't do anything someone else couldn't, and he was such a trashy loser in the middle of a very classy, professional rock band. With nick it was like "wow those guys are sharp, except for that guy wearing sandals with socks and sporting the stupid goatee. What a loser."

  • You make a good point, although I did enjoy Nick's presence. He brought a special heaviness to the band. I definitely think Mikey Shoes should give this song a try though.

  • @Hektor88.... Since when has class held precedence in a rock band.

  • @Hektor88 thanks for putting my thoughts into proper words. he didn't fit the band at all, and i skip every track where he sings when i listen to the older records

  • @Hektor88 mmm it was all about cocain. i miss Nick. but the change was completely necessary

  • @Hektor88 idk man like ya, fuck his woman-beating ass, but queens of the stone was more so a band of characters back in the day and nick provided a cool element. But i definetly think they got as good of line up as ever.

  • @Hektor88 Whatever nick was outside the band, he was still the best dam bassplayer that qotsa ever had

  • @Hektor88 Nick was only accused of beating his girlfriend, it was never proven.

  • @luke72801 I heard Nick is coming back for the next album.

  • @luke72801 but he never denied....

  • @Hektor88

    you pretty much suck.

nick is a god, josh is an ego maniac. no denying the truth.

  • @JHo4God Well, I like their post-Nick stuff better. Lullabies and Era Vulgaris have depth and variety that I don't think SFTD has; and although I like R, it's a real hit-or-miss album for me. Nick's singing has no sense of melody and "Auto-Pilot" or "Another Love Song" just don't have the same appeal as "Better Living Through Chemistry" and "The Sky is Fallin'" to me. Not to mention "Blood is Love," "Sick Sick Sick," "3's and 7's," etc. are pretty badass tunes.

  • @Hektor88 True, Josh has the creativity and song-writing, but Nick brought the balls like no other, and QOTSA are just another rock band without hime. End of.

  • @JHo4God You have reason but the real genius is Josh!

  • @Hektor88 Nick is awesome

  • @Hektor88

    douche bag

  • @Hektor88 why are you talking so much shit about nick :D

I mean he was a part of qotsa for a time and their style changes with almost every album so it's not good that he's gone but it just is the current condition. also it's sad that songs like this do indeed lose some of their energy without ni9ck's screaming.

And btw Nick is one hell of a good Bassist, you ever heard of Kyuss?

  • @derdudeisda I didn't say he wasn't a good bassist. I said he didn't do anything no one else could. He wasn't Jack Bruce or John Entwhistle.

Anyway, I guess I just didn't like him to begin with, and I am glad Josh kicked him out.

  • @Hektor88 Well I mean he could scream and had stage presence wich is something michael shuman lacks (what may also be cause josh doesen't want the others to have more presence)

and also being a ROCK band is the opposite of being professional :D

but if you just didn't like nick that's something else I guess...

  • @Hektor88 I agree completely. However, this song DOES lose something without him.

  • I guess it sucks to be Dean when they play this number

  • whos dean

  • the guy with the tamborine

  • fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • i don't remember them playing this song. i was there too. but i guess it's just 1 of those blurry messes that will never be forgotten but never remembered in detail

  • Id say they were on par with Rage that night.

qotsa then rage was something i would like to re-live everyday

  • They looked good from what I've seen of their Reading performance but they were below par at Leeds.

  • 1:40 that guy is working so hard :P

  • haha good one

  • all right, but the concert was great

  • Comment removed

  • i wish shoes would have sung it he has the voice

  • I like how Josh sings it in his own style. Just wouldn't be Josh if he was screaming.

  • that's dumb without him

  • i don't think i've ever seen a band use silence so well especially live

  • shoes does a good job screaming for this song

  • I swear Josh becomes more badass each time I see him.

  • Haha just like Iodinesky I just noticed that Matt Bellamy is in the crowd! 2:20.

  • is that actually matt bellamy?! it's bloody hard to tell!!!

  • yeah i think it might be :P

i remember seeing pictures of him in NME backstage that year..... talking of R&L , tickets on sale tonight :D:D:D

  • fuckin hell that is defo him, he is a known fan as well

  • it really does look like its him hahaha thats so fukin cool!!!

  • you should listen to the desert sessions version, which is just as good

  • thank fuck you stopped listening to them...coz they're way too good now for shit like you to deserve to listen to. Shithead.

  • lol at Matt Bellamy - midget in the crowd! I saw them at Leeds and they were truely awful and I was really looking forward to seeing them. Singer was absolutely wasted and the sound quality was shocking

  • if u think shuman is gud in this check out his other bands like wires on fire and jubilee,, there mad!!!!!!!

  • I loveeeee the screaming of Michael Shuman!!!!!! He need to sing the whole song

  • Na matt bellamy was proberly there to watch rage hes a big fan

  • ...but hes also a big qotsa fan :P

  • ahh okay kl i didnt know that

well i knew he was listening to lullibies to paralyze when they were making blackholes and revalations

  • it's very good.

  • Its Stoner Rock....and I love it

  • sorry nick, but i like homme singing much better to this song

  • Rely?!

I mean, with all do respect, Nick's energy -- as well as his awesome screaming -- makes this look like complete trash.

However, their current bassist has the pipes to sing this one, judging by his backing vocals/screaming.

    Great stuff, nonetheless.

  • I can see why you could think that but I like Josh singing on this song a lot more than I thought I would. Its such a different energy than nick so its harder for me to compare the two but yes I diggz. I kinda look at it as different song now too...a good one :)

  • So much fucking energy!

  • IONO maybe HARD ROCK? =P

  • It's queens of the stone, that's the label :)

  • weird version of this song, but i love josh's guitar.

  • Its Alternative Rock.

  • it`s evil sex rock!!!

  • I prefer this version to nicks, and i loved nicks!!

  • This song made my mates dad crash his car

He put songs for the deaf in the cd player and was like "This is a bit quiet" so he kept turning it up til it was full blast until... KA POW!

He served and hit a ford mondeo, oh well :)

  • i want to laugh but its not really funny.

but the KA POW! bit is so goooood i woulda crashed my car too lol

  • this song is probably one of the fattest, most bad ass songs ever! gotta love QOTSA

  • 100% true, but Josh don't fit on this song's vocals.

  • True

  • I like it!

  • one of the most kick ass songs of the weekend!

  • Went to see this a day after my birthday , Rage and these made this festival what it was

    QOTSA for world domination ;)

  • QOTSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fucking baddass song!!

  • no swearing mr milf hunter. stop hunting those milfs you dirty bastard

  • let him hunt them milfs plz.

  • I prefer josh's vocals on this rather than nick's. I'm not a big screamo fan.

  • I HATE screamo, but if there was one screamo I could listen to, it was this song. To be completely honest, I'm not too big on Josh's vocals on Millionaire. But thats just preferance as Josh is one of my favorite singers of all time.

He just doesn't suit the extremely harsh tone of this song.

  • Since when was Nick's version of this Screamo!? Kids these days..

Josh's performance is kinda half-assed. Feels like he can't really decide how to sing it.

  • this isnt screamo... just because there is some screaming doesn't qualify it as Scream-Emo...

    its metal

  • It's not metal either.

    It's a form of rock.

  • fuck metal. its rock n roll.

  • best fucking band in the world right now...muse, radiohead, monkeys, etc (whatever) can kiss QOTSA's ass

  • thats was a great post :D!

  • dam rite !

  • :) +1

  • the power when the riff kicks in is fucking incredible

  • aaahh awesome song

  • Pity Mikey couldn't sing this one all way thru.

  • Queens shit over muse.

  • Mikey's vocals sound fucking amazing.

  • Mikes growl is fucking amazing

  • Haha!! Matt you skinny fucker we see you!!!

Get back to work on my new album bish!!

    XD

jk jk I love you Muse!

  • haha!! wow, I agreee. lololl

  • Badass performance. I wish I was there...

Oh and +1 to Joey. Not only for being one badass motherfucker, but also for having the Black Flag logo on his bass drum...
