@ucfaccountant the play is normal, especially when you are forcing the shaft as much as he is... a small amount of up and down play is fine, in and out is a different story. so long as the blades do not touch the compressor housing, look for signs that the blades aren't hitting the compressor housing and chafing.
Thanks, I know. The up and down play is normal and there was no in and out play. It turned out to be an internal issue that has been fixed. I'll be posting new videos in the coming weeks.
you're right.Iinitially thought the shaft play seen here was the cause of the loud noise when the car was turned on the first time. Sent it back to the builder and it turned out to have a little defect inside that made the noise. I'll be posting more vid soon.

that is not normal shaft play that is much more then tolerance should allow.

NO, it shows the normal shaft play in a good turbo. Minimal up and down with no in and out play.
