I rarely remark on any one else responses but LUR767 what a mean thing to say....boring negro? why say such a thing? Amar Gamal is beautiful and a lovely belly dancer. Just as lovely as the others. Then again everyone is entitled to their own feelings I suppose. Just sounds so mean.
Anyway, not being negative toward them because I admire their style and elegance, but .. ...I guess if anyone's watched Sahra Saida dance... when you're in Egypt or Lebanon, there's a different kind of appreciation for certain gestures in dance.. if you see Sahra you might notice it too. And I wish more dancers would include these gestures.
I realy love the belly dance superstars. I think it was a great idea of Miles Copeland to carry out such a thing in the first place.. and I realy love the elegance and technicality the dancers who were chosen for it possess.In my mind, however, there's something missing from it all. There's a certain communication of expression i don't see them use.And at times they dance like they're so busy, not allow the appreciation of simple, singular movements.Not every beat has to be met with movement.
