  • you prick you didnt tell him he droped that haha

  • The guy who passes the camera when the second train arrived dropped something

  • One time, I think it was in 2009, 2010 or this year when one skytrain was at Columbia station it was letting passengers board. Then one train came behind it (it was not From the M-Line) and it stopped about 20-30 feet from the one in front of it.

  • @mrtrainboy019 thay do this alot becuse that if the train is out of order the pepole a hq do not want to take up un nesasary space at the stasion so thay stop it righet in betwen the towe

  • whew i got out from an incidend collition

  • why did the second train not stop at the station?

  • @theTechy101 out of order

  • I've always wondered how nuts it would be to hop in the middle of two trains and hang on to the metal rails after it stops and just go over the bridge to Columbia station all while your outside...That's only possible on the old ones though, Ofcourse you die immediately if you fall off. Ha

  • Someone got ran over on that station before.

  • @FXThug lol

  • wewt wewt i'm so happy we just got 48 new Mark II 300 ART trains, hopefully one day i'll never have to sit in a 34 year old Mark I ICTS ever again

  • hahahah ijust felt like looking at a video of where ive been lol i love in vancouver and i go on the skytrains all the time lol

  • It will never cause an accident cause the trains are smart enough to not crash. Yay Vancouver skytrain no accidents since opening 1986

  • How come its like a Train 2-Stations behind another Train? That can cause an accident.

  • @Samjensen11 it's computer controlled so that can't happen

  • wegv

  • lol that guy droped suttin

  • The next stop is.....Joyce........lol Skytrains are amazing

  • Hey , the first train we saw was the one the TTC uses for the SRT. Art Mark I?

  • @iMac0765 yes but no human monitor sitting inside

  • Technically, the Skytrain is a "rapid transit" or "Heavy Rail" system. Rapid transit is completely separated from the street so cars don't have to stop for it while light rail is not separated from the road and can run next to cars like a streetcar.

  • The trains are too small to be considered heavy-rail. If anything these are light rail trains running a heavy-rail style service.

  • Yeah i think that is correct, one classification would call the skytrain intermediate-rail which would have a capacity of around 15-20K pphd

  • That makes sense, after all, the Skytrain and the Scarborough RT were both alssified as ICTS. (Intermediate Capacity Transit Systems) Although the RT barely does 3800 pphd.

  • Right now Skytrain is running 30 trains per hour * average 320 passengers per train = 9600 ppphd. By 2020 after the upgrades are complete it'll be capable of 23400 ppphd. Pretty good if you ask me...

  • Wow, really? Thats pretty much subway capacity.

  • That out of service train is so close behind the service one. Good thing these trains are all computer controlled or else they'll collide. If only the RT's could be automated completely.

  • Wtf why did the last train didn't stop?

  • Because it was out of service

  • Why would it be out of service? It still functions and moves and it dosen't even need a driver.

  • I think its the closing time.

  • This is a question that most SkyTrain users ask. You can't see a real need to keep trains in service in this clip, but try catching a train out of downtown at the end of rush hour that's already picked up at a couple stations that's packed like a cattle car when it's followed immediately by an empty out of service train and you'd wonder the same.

  • You're really interested in transit and all that.

If you look at the same system in Toronto, we can't afford to have any trains out of service. We only have 6 six trains operating the 7 km light rail line. Technically 14km if you count both tracks.

  • Thanks for the info, Invadersencryos. In fact I'll be making a rail journey across Canada in a couple months and will be making a stopover in order to check out Toronto, primarily your great transit system that matches your position as our country's largest city. Any and all tips for my visit are welcome, I particularly enjoy vintage transit, and even this far west we're aware of your funding difficulties, hoping our path isn't bound for the same.

  • If only our RT was as extensive as Vancouvers, it would be amazing. The trains and technology is the same but just limited.

But the good thing is our little light rail line was the prototype for the great success of the Skytrain.

  • skytrain operations and maintananence center runs malfunctioning trains back to the storage/ maintanence yard to see wats not working properly. ya it still functions and stuff but maybe theres something wrong with the stop announcements or maybe it needs a little tuning.

  • the sky train noises scare me

  • that's the best :)

  • question are the mark 1 trains really noisy or is it the fact that the scarborough rt is very noisy. cause i remeber when it was originally in service it was quiet.

  • is it a love note?

  • heh. he dropped something. o.o

    its at scottroad too!! xD

  • Scuse me? You dropped something.

  • buuuaahhh...buuahhhh...buahhhhhhh...love it

  • Did that guy noticed he dropped something?!

  • why i just watched a video of what i do almost everyday, i'll never know.
