You can register domain names through private domain registration and protect your personal information that way.

With a private domain registration, a company registers your domain in its name and becomes the Registrant of record, although you keep the rights to selling, cancelling, transferring, etc.

But their.company name, address and phone number are publicly available in the WHOIS directory instead of yours.

Hosting is what matters most. Domain registration is pretty much all the same(w/ in reason). Godaddy is as good as any, i would looked up the top10 registers & went w/ the 1 that had good service @ a good price. Hosting is where the thought comes in, if U come up w/ a good name, i wouldn't wait 2 register it. Go-Daddy offers a good package of the top 6 TDL extensions for cheap. Again all the things that are going to impact UR site are in the Hosting, & thats where to put more time & research.

GoDaddy's aftermarket service is a nice service to look into. It allows you to sell and buy recently expired domain names. Good place to pick up decent names which just expired. They also have public auctions of domains.
