  • Good review. Just two things: with the q, bass and deep switches you can "model" the sound, and about the feeling of the pedal, it has a screw to adjust the resistence. :)

  • I love the half a polo on the bottom right of the floor the whole of the demo!

  • i prefer the g-lab wowee wah ^_^

  • Wow that thing is horrible o couldn't even hear the sweep it was really thin but that was only with the song I'd say there pretty close but Dunlop won

  • how does the cry baby know you're stepping on it if you're not hitting the button under the front of it? :/

  • @dimeowns100

    GLab wah pad.

  • I like the glab.

  • Love your honest reviews , and its why i continually come back to your channel.

    Cheers!

  • i like the crybaby better....

  • the comparison is very instructiv...

    i like both pedals

  • Back Door LOL!

  • chappers what does a wha pad do?

  • @050296gareth Its a "pressure pad" for your wah, rather than having to stand on your wah to turn it on, it allows you to leave your wah on all the time and just apply slight pressure to turn it on (I believe thats it ^^)

  • What is a wah pad?

  • Oh my dawg it's the guy from That 70's Show the Leo.

  • Why have a wah plate? I was going to buy a Crybaby, but now I'm not sure if I want to if I have to buy a plate. What does it do?

  • Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet emotion

  • Crybaby all the way

  • should i get this or the crybaby KH-95(Kirk Hammett)?

i play Metal, some clean pretty much anything but i want a good wah that works well with metal/overdrive sounds :-P if u have any OTHER recommendations id love to know thanks

  • @IpodCY get the Crybaby classic, it is cleaner and more presence

  • @IpodCY i highly recommend the dimebag, crybaby from hell wah mate, especially if you play metal as i do. extremely versatile :)

  • Wowee Zowee?

    PAVEMENT!

  • SICK DUDE!! sweet emotion kicks ass man xD bitchin tune!!

i need to invest in a wah me thinks :D

  • so it's basically the original morley wah, no? the morely used to get that grainy, synth-like texture at the to end of the sweep, & it was GREAT with driven tones. the morleys used/uses the photo-cell, as well, instead of the pot.

  • ahem... at the TOP end of the sweep!

  • Eh, Crybaby sounds lighter... Wowee sounds darker.

  • THe crybaby still wins it for me. Ive got the dome one and it kills!

  • Since I own it I'm sure I'll never change anymore !

  • yay your a fan of The Answer :)

    haha

    also nice review

  • That wowee pedal sounds superb if you ask me... I was about to buy the crybaby 95 just yesterday but I didn't. To me it peaked too high and sounded a bit sharp.

  • :D crazy sounds mit nice dynamics gotta check them out or how borat would say Wohoa wah wowee wah wa :D

  • Hi Rob! Great review ;)

Lot of people on many forums etc talks many bad things about crybaby gcb-95. You wrote that you have "standard crybaby" - means gcb-95? Great tone! I know that amp and guitar is very important, but if this wah is shitty like I heard, it wouldn't sound so well!!!

ps sorry for my english ;)

  • Just ordered me a Wowee wah for bass .. that should be a fun tool to use...

Oh.. want to play at MF2010 dude!! ;-)

  • cry baby has more spank. like it better

  • Did you compare both the pedals ? The woowee features so many settings...

  • i like the hats :)

  • much prefer the wowee

  • Woah, the wowee is by far better!

The tone clarity and dynamics are lost in the other one :| !

  • nice hats!

  • Wowee Zowee

  • Oh c'mon Behringer wah isnt that bad is it? xD I kinda bought one but then i went more into brutal so i dont use it so much :o

  • G-lab is more Wah and Dunlop is more Woaw

  • woops pressed the wrong thumb, but your right

  • Hi. I ordered one of these from blackhawk music a few days ago.

Just curious if it uses a standard Boss style 9 volt adapter, and if you have any idea what the mA current draw of this pedal is?

Looking forward to getting mine in the mail.

  • Yep it's the regular boss type power input.

  • this doesnt need the wah pad right

it has the true bypass right

  • Yea it has true bypass.

  • The Wowee definitely wins for me. The Crybaby is much too discreet.

  • plastic behringer S*** lol

  • @DaveMacara89

    qoute off the century lol

    ur new monkey minion jo€

  • I dnt knw I've been listening to alot of "wah" solos.....and I think the g-lab wah has got to be my favorite wah yet just because like you said it has that synth-esque-ness to it lol

  • Love how the G Lab doesn't get harsh...

  • Awsome :D U are indeed made of Win! lol would luv to see sum video lessons but i'm a tramp so money is poop luv the stuff ur gr8. Keep Shredin

  • Sounds to me the Dunlop has a bit more range.

  • yeah dude

  • u pointed the wrong way for the subscribe. haha

  • What's the song at 6:00? It remind me so much of a buckethead song, but I can't for the life of me remember it! I think it may have been on one of the Bucketheadland albums, or maybe Somewhere over the Slaugherhouse?

  • I just made it up mate, it could be a Bucket head thing I guess... :-)

  • Ah, okay. It just reminds me so much of some bucket song, but there are so many of them that I think it's pretty much impossible for me to figure it out!

  • @RobChappers But your music is soooo much better.

  • good selection of music. The name of a song?

  • Hi mate, it is "the answer" Covering real emotion by Aerosmith :-)

  • Thank you. However, it is nice guitar solo.

  • @RobChappers it's actually sweet emotion and i've gotta check out their cover of it now cause they are awesome

  • @RobChappers sweet emotion actually

  • @RobChappers You meant "Sweet Emotion"

  • Both pedals sound good. The Wowee is a bit clearer sounding though.

  • Great review Chappers!

  • Cheers mate :-)

  • hallelujah finally a reasonably priced wah pedal that is true bypass! (there are of course others but the pric isn't the same)

i am one step closer to tone heaven hahahaha

  • very good review... hoeever does the wah pad only make the existing wah true bypass?? if so the mod to make a jim dunlop wah TP is so cheap and easy... £6 i think it was for my DPDT carling switch and free to install it. are their any other advantages of the wah pad??

  • hey. The wah pad does have true bypass when the wah is no pressed down but thats just the start. It pad lets you leave your wah on and have true bypass when your feet is off, so when you put it on then its immediately activated. You can also leave your wah in a certain position and then put your feet on the edge of the pad to make the wah in the loop, so you can turn it on and off just by putting it pressure on and off. This has ENDLESS uses. Check out chappers vid on it, it explains better.

  • Yep. Poland rocks, woowe is Polish! :* ;)

    Great review man ;))

  • Cheers mate :-) Yeah Poland makes some good gear Mayones, Glab etc

  • agree, but there isn't much "etc" ;)

Got Mayones and i love it. Also i think that i'll buy this thing.

  • I like Your reviews dude. I also like tkis stuff. MUST play it! :D

  • Thanks man! :-)

  • Want.

  • The answer ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • I think the Wowee sounded a lot better for the clean stuff and the Crybaby a little more for the heavy distortion. I had a Crybaby for a while and really didn't like it, so now I'm using an old Japanese Shin'ei which is sweet as hell. The mojo doesn't hurt either.

  • I think I like the sound of the G-Lab better, it's deeper and not as trebly.

I still have a Dunlop, though.

    Also, nice dirty trousers, Chaps.

  • Dude. That was Sweet AND Emotional.

  • Thanks mang!

  • Wow!! or should I say Wah,Wow? Superb demo as usual.

  • Cheers MR PRS :-)

  • Camera vs. Wah built like tank, I think the camera would have lost that one, lol! Love the bloopers! Another review made of silken mountain win!

  • Ha ha!! Ahh the fine win of Mount Silk.. yes I have heard many a tale of it's winness.. The win is strong with it.

  • Does a wah pad (the thing that makes it turn on automatically when u touch it) work for the Crybaby and where can you get it? Thx MonkeyLord!

  • Hey Chappers what's that song you play at around 7:04?

  • Hi mate it's "The Answer" playing a cover of Aerosmiths Sweet Emotion :-)

  • .. just like off of that kerrang (i think?) album i have in my car which i don't know the name of..

  • I do like the sound of the G Lab wah.

  • is the wowee wah out yet?

  • Yes mate, contact Ben his details are top right :-)

  • ahh, didnt see that, cheers

  • Hey dude! Awesome looking piece of win! Are there any effects pedals that you would consider reviewing such as a Chorus pedal perhaps? Theres so many out there I'm not sure what is a good one to get?

  • Hi mate, I will review anything that I either own, or like... I don't really use that many pedals though I prefer to use the Amp and Guitar, boxes on the floor get in the way of my monkeying about :-) Check out gearmandude he has some great pedal reviews, tell him I sent you.

  • nice review, especially the heads on comparison. my impression is that the wah range (if i may call it that) is larger on the crybaby. i have one myself and listening against some recordings i always thought that the crybaby's range is more limited than most of the newer pedals... still don't really understand what the wah pad is for - just an elegant way of putting it into the bypass instead of directly into the amp? what's the benefit of that?

  • With the Wah Pad, the Wah is on all the time... the second you touch it, it is activated, so no need to switch it on or off! A bit like a Morley Wah, except the Wah Pad is true Bypass.

  • The Wah pad is true bypass and doesn't kill the tone af your guitar when bypassed. A standard dunlop does.

  • he is is zo getting sponsort by Glab hahaha

  • No, not sponsored by GLab.

  • omg soo much waaah powa

maybee wah is the monkey lords greatest weakness =)

  • Hey Chappers, you tried out a Morley before?

  • i agree the g lab sounds smoother and quite nice but is that wat a wah wah is about. i think a wah wah like a baby is supposed to keep you up for days upon end with its noisey wailing. crybaby is the only wah ftw here im afraid

  • awesome video :D

  • G-Lab sounds evil

  • Because it is incarnate evil in a box! >:-)

  • sweeeeeeeeet emotion!

  • you should shave your beard and put it on Ebay.

    ;)

  • Ha ha that is an awesome idea man!!

  • Still love the cry baby!!

  • I find the Wowee to be a bit smoother and less honky and restricted. It sounds a bit more wider and open. I think this could be my wah!

  • What do you think of the visual sound stuff?

  • Never tried that either mate!

  • Never tried the Jekyll and Hyde?

  • /user/VisualSoundUSA

  • Hi man, just a few questions as always lol.

do you use the standard cry baby, is it a vintage one or is it modified?.

the wah pad, I use a Vox cry baby (have you got one by the way and if so, do you like them?) what do ya think, any good for me here?.

What is it you prefer about the cry baby than the vox?, I tend to think of the cry baby as having most of the wah travel in the low end/low mid where as the Vox seems to me to have more up top?

  • What exactly is the wah pad?

I have two Vox wah's, a 60 one (you have no idea what I had to go through to get this!!!) and a modern one. I tend to take the modern one out with me and keep the vintage one at home for recording.

Economy picking...getting a little better lol, it is weird, I kind of do it naturally, but make my self play alternate because I have learned that way, it feels really weird to unlearned what I have learned!.

  • I have a demo video of the Wah Pad, check it out... it's the best thing ever for standard wah's :-)

60's Vox?? wow well done mate.

  • Can't believe I missed that???, I watch all your video's!.

Yea the 60's one looks great, there are massive dinks in it, almost all the paint has come off, but everything in side is stunning, old fashioned point to point type stuff, really sweet piece of kit.

I shall never tell what I had to do to get that lol.

  • Ha ha what was his name?? ha ha

  • Hi buddy! My Cry Baby is just standard, I have always used them and just love the tone. Vox are great to...it's just another colour really. Anyone who hasn't seen Joe's playing go check him out, he can really shred.

  • Yea, I used one for years. Like always, just personal preference I suppose. I do like the cry baby. For certain types of music I still prefer the cry baby.

    Hey cheers man!.

  • That prawn boy looks insane!

  • Yeah that is the awesome James a student of mine, he actually edited part of the beginning of this video for me. I am teaching him guitar and music/video editing :-)

  • what about the fulltone wahs? i've heard those are tits. The G-lab is awesome rob :)

  • Never tried one of those mate! I want to try a budda wah next :-)

  • can you do a review of "chavs"? they sound really nifty. and i hear they're all over the british isles, so you probably know a lot about them

  • Ha ha.. Yeah init, sound mate! I can't tell you much about chavs, but I could tell you about wiltshire country folk. If you have ever seen the film "Hot Fuzz" we all sound like that down my way.

  • Hot Fuzz ftw

  • you are so good.

  • Thanks man! :-)

  • To me the Crybaby has more effect to it but not as much of a range. The Wowee seems to be more pronounced and has more range but less effect. If there was a wah that had the Crybaby tone, with true bypass, was optical, had more range, and was more pronounced *breathes* I would definitely get it

  • Ha ha!! Good luck finding that mate :-)

  • yeah lol

  • I love your editing.

  • Thanks man, I love editing... It's kind of like making a song, beginning middle and end etc :-)

  • Hi Rob, just doin' a little break between a line of code and another and what a surprise: new chappers video!

I prefer woowhe, more deep and controllable filtering, pricing a bit expensive for a mass production, but in line with boutique ones.

keep in contact mate and keep on playing!

ps. nice carpet with light floreal fantasy: I couldn't figure it urban gothic with elements of heavy metal, industrial and so on...!:)

  • on sweet emotion Joe uses a talk box rather than a wha,

  • Whoops, I meant Sweet Emotion

  • It was The Answer, they are a great band! Saw them live supporting Alter Bridge and was really impressed :-)

  • Was that a cover of Walk This Way playing? If so who covered it, it sounded pretty badass

  • That's cool it doesn't have a pot, my Crybaby 535Q makes a really annoying squeaking noise from that plastic gear attached to the pot.

  • Yeah you don't get any of that at all :-)

  • Hi Gio! Yeah my carpet sucks mate ha ha

  • what's on your left pant leg at the bottom? dirt?

  • Yeah! Ha ha I had been out walking in the fields :-)

  • acutally they both sound pretty great, crybabys better ya, but with the combination of the touch pad and a great wah for that price thats quite cool

  • I've never heard of the Wah-pad. Is the Crybaby on at all times in this video? if so that's pretty sweet. I use a Crybaby live and love the tone, but hate having to kick it on and off during the course of a song. Heads up to you Rob. I'm buying a Tiny Terror tomorrow and I'm super pumped! I'm gonna check out some clean boosts while I'm at it. Any recommendations other than the MXR401?

  • Hi mate, yeah the Cry Baby is always on, and powered by the Pad! TT's are super duper awesome!

I only use the MXR boost so I don't really know any others.. I hear good things about the Zvex boost :-)

  • I love wah!

  • Crybaby wins there tonewise for me.

Then again, i use a crybaby so im a little biased.

  • I agree with you I'm a Cry Baby fan, but I think the Wowee has cool tone.. it's just different.. more synth like.

  • first view!

  • First view? Its good to see you back chappers, ive missed you!

  • Ha ha! Thanks man, yeah sorry I've been kinda busy :-)
