Must resist!.... Good thing Marshalls got cheap solid state parctice amps. Buy a cheapo 1 return it, keep the receipt then buy this and fly it under the wifes radar! Its just £50 darling... he he he.
Hmmm, this or the Haze 40? Maybe I'll wait to see if marshall releases another new model sometime soon. Marshall's finally returing to thier roots. I just wish there was a presence knob on this thing.
Yeah, it seems like Marshall hasn't made anything really good in almost 2 decades. This looks promising like a classic Marshall. This could be the amp that will bring Marshall back to the good amps, instead of all the high gain shit they have been releasing.
Im yet to try this amp because i think we are getting it in the shop i work at, the music station in inverness. I look forward to trying it though so far im not blown away though it does sound good, marshall would hate me for saying this but another great 5watt head is the Blackstar HT-5 2 channels, alot of gain and good variable tone
I sort of understand the point you're trying to make but my comment wasn't based on the player (who on other Marshall demos sounds pretty good by the way)
It sounds thin and boxy basically as most of these low powered little valve amps do in my experience
Exactly! This crap about 'tone is all in the fingers' pisses me off.
As if you could sound like SRV playing through some 10w solid state practice amp or something xD (just an example, not on about this vid. i know this is a 5watt valve :P)
Shutup with this nonese about 'tone is in the fingers'. Do you believe that if you gave some guy like the late Dimebag a twin reverb then he'd be able to play chuggy scooped mids stuff just as if he was playing one of his huge solid state things or whatever? Honestly. Some tone is in the fingers yes but the majority is the amp and guitar.
'tone is in the fingers' what nonesense. Maybe on a fretless guitar it is...
Well lucky for me i don't play in hope of fame :\ i play because i enjoy it.
Yeah, i read an article in which jeff beck said tone is in the fingers. He said jimi hendrix only used a wah and a chorus pedal which is also bullshit . Hendrix used fuzz pedals like the octavia and the fuzz face (germanium) all the time for that warm fuzzy sound!
You can't get a fuzz effect on a guitar with your fingers. Ever. You can't sound like dimebag without those solid state amps with high gain. ever.
whoever put two thumbs down to this should be beaten and shot. tone is in the fingers more than the equipment. to ignore the importance of technique and individual feel from fingers is blasphemy to any great that has ever played guitar.
Yes but not all tone is in the fingers at all. Your TECHNIQUE that changes tone and especially the dynamics to your sound is in your fingers.
For instance, there was a guy who had a rig similar to claptons and was trying to get teh clapton sound. He was trying and got close but something was missing. If Clapton had come into the studio and played on that rig then straight away you'd get the 'clapton sound'. You won't get to sound like clapton if you played through a randall solid state etc..
No. It's not all in the fingers. That's where it ends up. Tone begins IN YOUR HEAD! It's gotta be in your head first otherwise your fingers will never convey it. Instead of repeating this myth every douche-cock in the guitar playing universe is so quick to spew, attempt to investigate for yourself. You'll find tone is truly in your head. It's the only part of your body that tells your fingers what to do. End of story.
Passive-aggressive, which is how your response reads is still aggressive, it's just less direct. But I still love and accept our differences on that; it's what makes you spirited and unique. Enough love for you? As to what TONE is, for guitar players, it's really in the head, and I'm not talking about "thinking" either. I hope the tone and tenor of my comments are less strident and devoid of ego. Peace
i love Marshall amps, but i want to rip the piercings off of this gay english faggot.

yeah I just heard of that thing! I have a serious case of GAS for every amp I look at now lol.
rockfreak611 2 years ago
what does havin a serious case of gas mean? i'm italian so i don't know these kinda sayings
fulivius 2 years ago
GAS (G.A.S.) is an acronym for Gear Acquisition Syndrome, meaning I want every amp I look at. It's a made-up syndrome, of course.
rockfreak611 2 years ago
it might be made up, but i suffer of it too every once in a while lol, that's a part of being musician's i think(or hope) :)

lol, I'm only quoating just about every famous guitar player that ever went big time when I say that...
what you are saying is, YOU have to use equipment to get your sound instead of your fingers.
as far dimebag darrel goes, I'm not a fan.
but go on keep reading those ads in magazines and keep spending your money on their bogus claims...
enjoy a life of obscurity

very true!
there's a great book published in 1908 called "how to think Music"
you should give it a read. It was written as instruction to train teachers how to teach students to "think" music.
perhaps a better statement would be :
"tone has nothing to do with the equipment you use, and all to do with your Heart, Mind and Fingers"
are you dissapointed that I'm not agressive(?) but instead interested in what you have to say?
drop the ego, and become a human being.
