Dolphins also kill porpoises for no apparent reason. They probably have a reason, but we don't know what it is yet. But there might not be a reason for it.  EEEEEVILLLLL!!!!

I'm not really seeing it. I'm seeing (twice I think) a dolphin smack a jellyfish with it's tail. I don't see it go into the sky. I see many missed opportunities. Maybe the dolphin is simply reacting to being stung, or trying to administer punishment for being stung in the past.

given dolphins' ability to easily avoid being stung and given the fact that they have thick hides which probably wouldn't be receptive to jellyfish stings anyway and given their historically playful nature and ingenuity, i see no reason why the behavior isn't intentional. btw, i did see jellyfish go into the air... check :40 (two-fer), :47 (missed attempt), 1:35 (six feet high).

also, notice that there may be a 2nd game being played in terms of chasing the paths of jellyfish and ducking under.
