  • I love Dir en grey, been listening to them since 2006. But their fans are fucking retards, youtube comments are proof enough for that.

  • うっまw

  • Gotta love DEG fans. All so fucking retards. "OMFG WHY THEY STANDING AROUND" Maybe because when you're going to a festival you and you're seeing an unknown band, you're just watching & listening to the music. Also about the genre discussion, I say DEG are a progressive band since they're sound always changes. They evolve and mature all the time and are experimenting new things thus making them another progressive rock/metal band.

  • Not alternative metal, J-rock. They were proven to be impossible to be categorized by one genre. But dumb American magazines and interviewers keeps trying to categorize them in a specific genre.

  • @cruelgrotequeblood No. They're an alternative/progressive metal band. By calling them J-rock you're lumping them in with turgid shit like Girugamesh, MUCC etc

  • @Slushofield I'm not sure how much you know about Dir en grey's music but Dir en grey themselves already told the interviewers to quit categorizing them into different genre every time they put out new music and just call them J-rock. Now, the problem with some fans and interviewers mostly in the US is that they would never listen to Dir en grey. They said that they're pretty much free style and that they're not the type of band that gets caught in something called "genre".

  • @Slushofield They've said this as well but where's the need to categorize them under certain genre? I've seen wiki as well but one time, they were categorized as metal/death/rock. The next time they put out a new music they're under "nu-metal/alternative" and now they're like "alternative/rock". It's just plain foolish.

  • This band is amazing and one of my favorites for about 2 years now. Its insane to be seeing people this still and quiet during one of their concerts. Can you imagine how awkward it would be playing a show like that?

  • Everyone is like staring on the stage speechless...

If i were ther i would headbang my ass off!! ^^

  • @ska2808 its simple, i arrived just before diru played

  • @ska2808 the crowd i mean. and i know they were on that tour because i saw them. i left before the shitty bands came on

  • 5:34 se le sale el peazo de gallo a kyo xD aunque DIR EN GREY ES LO MEJOR <3 DIR EN GREY FOREVER

  • @theplancabinet theyre kerrang-loving faggots

  • loooove Dir en grey!!!!! cant wait to see them at the Knebworth festival this summer XD

  • I'm going to download festival this year and i was just wondering how long the second stage bands play for? 'cos there are some great bands playing that stage this year. Thanks :)

  • @ZooYorkUK Apparently according to an interview that Rock Sound TV did with Dir en grey, they performed a 35 minute set. I'm afraid I've never been to Download festival so I can't say otherwise.

  • @barnopolis89 Thanks a lot for the reply :)

  • kaoru's guitar is so stylish.

  • I know there's pro-shot footage of them playing Download 2009 cause it's in the Reiketsu Nariseba video, but I can't find it anywhere.

  • OMG FG what THE fuck!!!! THis fuckin crowd doesn't even KNOw what it's seeing\ THE BEST BAND EVER!!!!!!

  • i agree. Dir En Grey is fucking awsome. i went to thier concert in LA the month before XD omg it was fucking rad. vinushka was fucking amazing.

  • this crowd fuckign sucks ... disapointment

  • nah... if people face new bands, it takes time to them to get used to it. This band's sound is kinda new to them, so....

  • I bet it's better closer to the stage. These are the people who are just watching it cause the other bands sucked, not the diru fans XD

  • lol wow the entire crowd just got burned by you XD

  • Honey, I know diru fans, and these are not diru fans XD. Diru fans would be as close to the stage as possible, doing their absolute best to fight their way to the front, while screaming and singing along, regardless of their native language. These people in back are just like "Hey, Dir En grey, that sounds cool, all the other bands suck, let's just go watch from the back, the front looks too dangerous."

  • true. damn american music fucked it up for japan DX

  • 観客がまるで盛り上がっていない!でもこれが現実ディルなんて海外で全く人気ないよ!日本のメディアが捏造報道してるだけだし

  • @unionsquare19802000

    おまえは何を言ってるんだ?

  • Those drums sound fucking huge!

  • hell the fuck yeah.

  • Considering it's pretty hard to digest Dir en grey upon first listening, the crowd is being really respectful by simply listening. Props to the crowd and to the band.

  • shit this sound is perfect.

  • 人いねーwwww

  • I hate J-Rock but love Dir en grey. Am I a weeaboo?

  • FYI: Good japanese bands = Boris, Boredoms, Melt Banana, Envy etc.

NOT Sex Machineguns or X Japan, you stupid scumbag. But if you like tasteless cheese then sure. Idiot.

  • Says the guy who likes Dir en Gay.

    RAAAAAAAAGE

  • I was pretty drunk when I wrote my comeback but even sober that's all you could say?

Ah well, who cares anyway. Music is music. STOP THE FIGHTING.

  • Thats funny because you are the one who is watching this video. You don't like them, then GTFO. Who goes to a band they "HATE or consider the worst " to comment. The only people who do that are trolls. So you are just a troll or you have no life. I agree that allot of people who like Dir en grey, like it because they are "cool" but not everyone. You don't like them, good why waste your time? We don't go to your favorite band to cause problems.

  • oooo struck a nerve did I?

    RAAAAAAAAAAGE

  • Weak ass crowd.

  • @ObscurelyNyappy this may be a strange concept to some people... but the crowd are standing there engrossed and actually listening!! the majority of people had never heard the band before.. so imo that is a pretty cool crowd reaction.

  • HAHAHA!

I think you've hit the nail on the head! Lol.

  • Wow so few ppl... Kinda unfair specially when i will really love to see them live but they won't come to my country and other ppl have the chance and they don't appreciate it i guess

  • it isn't as few as it looks...

and it is more life in the front of the people and it is more people behind...

  • @kusokuraestarfucker if you watch the screen at about 4:30 you can see how many people are actually there. there was quite a good crowd!!

  • I was there, at the other side - shame not many people were there! Dir En Grey are awesome!

  • damn i missed these guys really wanted to see them along with BMTH but went and saw killswitch instead what a mistake

  • The crowd seemd dead :/ but diru was great! go diru. lol

  • VINUSHKA! :D

  • Hauptsache alle Leute stehen da nur still rum. :'D

    Aber DIR EN GREY rocken.<3

  • 1:13 xd

  • In a sense it kinda sucks that the audience isn't in the music much, BUT in their defense, not alot of people know about this band at all, and they were polite and waiting there, letting the band play through and have their time. If I was there I would probably beat the living shit out of the guy next to me, but that's only because i love the band a hell of a lot. I'm not going to knock someone who's NEVER heard of these guys for not acting the way I did. If I was in their situation, I'd do the

  • same thing (Haha i got cut off.)

  • The crowd were respectable. They didn't boo or bottle them. I was there.

    Also, they were fucking awesome.

  • oh yeah i almost forgot... love the flag-waving

  • seriously this just makes me want to see them even more. it's too bad about the crowd, but hey, at least they were giving them a chance.

amazing camera and thanks for the upload ^_^

  • Dude the crowd is dead

    Sing along dumbasses!

    Dx

  • i lost my fucking voice to this band there singing the lyrics

  • these guys were awesome i didnt know any of there songs when i saw them but they just have a really unique sound. i loved them

  • GO TO DEG

    GO TO DEG

    GO TO DEG

    GO TO DEG

  • lol GO TO DMC u mean :)

  • u got it dude

  • If I was there, I'd be screaming my ass off! These guys rock! And I don't like these guys 'cause they're 'hot', I just love the moosics *Cage is my fave song* and everyone just looks so damn bored. Wish I went :'{

  • haha its ok, when i was there i was making sure the moshpit was immense, it was great near the front!

  • Damn, I really wish I went then! I would have been moshing until I fainted XD Damn these guys rock!

  • 画質最高ー!!!!

    ninsbreedさん、ありがとう♪

  • it mean something more in metal about dir en grey.

normal metal fans can just define what type of metal they are or they was visual kei guys or not

but they forget the most important thing.its the emotion on metal.

you guys just look what kyo sing and express about.

he fuckin blow you guys away.

  • they're from Tokyo

  • i love Deg, saw them at the Kerrang tour in Newcastle, shame they only got a 35 min set here, but from this vid they looked amazing, jealous of all who saw them!

  • I know, poor thing! He has a lotttt of stamina though, he's an amazing drummer for such a tiny guy! I shouldn't pick faves from the band 'cause I love them all, but he is my fave :3 lol!

  • I was right at the front infront of Toshiya. Just before he lifts his bass he was staring at me! I love this video because I love watching Shinya ^_^ Thanks for uploading!

  • What if metalheads in general are just close-minded and don't adapt to other music other than TR00 KVLT METAL easil and also what if not everyone is totally eager to listen to your GLORIOUS NIPPON musicks, just like not everyone is eager to listen to 50 cent or whatever? I mean seriously people can have different tastes goddamn, this is a festival. This isn't a headlining concert for them, they should be happy with the audience they got

I love DeG as much as the next guy but seriously guys

  • > location: united states

    > complaining about shitty non-japanese fans

yeah go back to GLORIOUS NIPPON you weeaboo cunt

  • Well, I don't care if someone knows them or not. It's a great band and I like the fact that most people don't know them at all.

Actually I don't want Dir En Grey to become a band everyone listens to.

  • D: it annoys how everyone is just stood there. if i'd have been there i'd have gone fucking crazy :L

  • If you haven't noticed, Download has more of heavy metal fanbase then the style Dir en grey. If Dir en grey played a set of all their heavy shit, i think the crowd would have reacted differently. but also, not all the bands are metal.

  • i'm sorry, but i didn't have a clue what they were when i saw them, went down and had my head blown off in amazement

  • HiroyukiMiura - I was there, and I do agree with you... the crowd was dead through most of the set. There was a large group of true Dir en grey fans at the front enjoying themselves, it's a shame that nobody else joined in.

For a lot of UK fans, spending about £300 over a weekend to see the band at this festival for only 35 minutes was not a good deal. If they come back for a headline show, it will sell out. I promise that!!

  • vusual kei bands will neverr play at festivals like this without gettin killed

  • it's because those songs are bad and visual kei in general is bad.

Deal with how they are now or enjoy staying in the past and listening to their old stuff, they're not going back to their old roots. They've stated this numerous times already. I prefer them maturing this way instead of turning into that trash pop-rock stuff that most VK bands are these days

  • where ever this is, i hope direngrey won't come here anymore, wanna know why?it's coz they didn't appreciate the fact that those band singing infront is direngrey.. end of story.. pity toshiya, he's so graceful, yet this people just don't even know how to appreciate him..

  • That's not true, I was at the front -after waiting there just for them for 7 hours- and blew Toshiya a kiss only to have him do it back twice and wink at me lol. So they do have fans that appreciate them, so they should come back!

  • awe I feel so bad, Toshiya is trying to soooo hard, and kyo is singing really good. and everyone is like LOLstare

  • Well you have to remember that this was filmed way at the back of the venue...

Closer to the stage is where all the real Diru fans were.

  • Agree. Although I was back behind the second barrier trying to move the DEAD people that were around me. At least there was a bunch of us Diru fans there to support them.

  • The reaction isn't that interesting but better then hysterical cold voices from cruel fans...

  • guys are not their fans? see their reaction

  • docela dobry,ninsbreed

  • Best video of this on Youtube. Why? No screaming fangirls. The screaming fangirls are the reason I will never see this band live outside of festivals.

  • I agree. In fact, they should bring the idea of their male-only shows to Europe and North America.

  • They do that?! Fuck yes they should!

People put thumbs down on my comment. As if the screaming fangirls aren't a nuisance. They're annoying and they know it.

  • Not ALL fan girls are bad. I'm a fan girl but I don't scream and tbh guys scream too believe it or not. The only difference is that girls are a bit louder.

  • I agree with you but most of the girls are like: "Look, they are Japanese from Japan! We must eat them alive!!"

Die was like "WTF?!" when he saw them fighting over the things he threw to the audience...

  • And that the guys don't scream "OMG HE'S SO HOT I'M GONNA MARRY HIM!!!"

  • Don't be such a knob, I've never heard anyone scream anything close to that.

Yeah I'll admit MOST girls like bands because of how they look but NOT ALL.

I would never listen to a band because I thought they looked hot, I don't like Dir en Grey because I think Kyo's good looking, I like them because I like thier music . Same goes for every other band I listen too. So next time you decide to whine, why don't you take into consideration the fan girls that actually listen to the music.

  • I have, at each one of the three Dir en grey concerts I went to.

Plus it's all over the comments in Youtube videos about them. :/

I'm not a knob, and I'm not whining, thx.

  • Comments on youtube isn't exactly screaming. fair enough if you've heard the screams, but I'm tired of people slaggin off all fan girls just because of a small minority who clearly aren't fans of the music.

  • I wish I could have seen them live T__T They look/sound so awesome. One of my friends passed by the stage when they were playing but didn't stop to watch and I was like"WTF?" when he told me.

Thank you so much for the upload ^^~

Kyo has such an amazing voice :D

  • fucking touching.

    glory of asian

  • i met them before!

    they were epic at download!!

  • btw the crowd need to headbang like the other fan does when they c them perform

  • song call VINUSHKA and their no dvd yet b/c they just perform this festival

  • WOW, I'm so glad you filmed this, it's one of my favourite songs live. Although the audience looks tame this far back we were all going mental in the front row so they knew they had lots of fans there ^_^ Thanks for posting this, I love it.

  • fuck... i wish we had a dvd of this performance.

  • where was this!

  • Everyone Should Stop Wetting Themselves About The Crowd Standing Still!!! Jeez!!! I Was There At The Back. Some Of My Mates Were Right At The Barrier, I Didn't Go Cause I Didn't Know Dir En Grey All Too Well. So Whilst Waiting On A Band I Did Want To See I Chilled At The Back With My Other Mates. You Can't Really Comment On The Audience If You Weren't There, I Was, The Audience Were Awesome! And I Found Out So Are Dir En Grey =)

  • good to know

  • dont blame those people they probably never heard of dir en grey and are just checking them out

  • 大サビではずしてるけど、メロディがいいからかっこいいよ

  • hehe i see my friends japanese flag! LOL

  • Thanks,it's JVC Everio GZ-MG430

  • i was a few rows from the front, belive me there was more passion there than this lot, there were some real fans there.

  • they are all from diffrent parts of japan kyo is from kyota thats why he called himself that kaoru is from Hyōgo, die is from mie Toshiya is from Nagano, and shinya is from osaka

  • D: why are they just standing!!! D: omg!!!

I would started jumping like crazy if i would be there!!! xD

  • fucken shit arnt they...

  • i'm sorry, but i was THERE and hardly anyone knew who they were... AND there style is like nothing most had seen before. i went in not knowing, and came out a fan

  • I really love seeing these type of comments, Dir en Grey is the most amazing band ever

  • there not from osaka dude

  • Stupid ppl, they have no idea how lucky they are .. it's DIR EN GREY .. Vinushka ..... and those STUPID audience standing like zombiez .... FUCKKKK! I'd die for the chance to hear &see them live.

  • Exactly! What're they doing D;!

I'd be jumping around like crazy if I were able to go - but I wasn't allowed too.. stupid exams : <

  • oooo well done for filming this, I somewhere at the front there. I fucking love Dir En Grey!!!!

  • These people suck soooo bad attending concerts! Especially a Dir en grey one!

Their just stsanding around like Dicks!!! X[

    Makes me mad! XP

    Great Vid though. ^^

  • Holy shit the quality of this video is amazing!

  • these were awesome live!

  • Wow, pretty lame crowd...

    They're just standing there...

  • see the japanese flag? that was like 2 rows from the front, i was behind it, going fucking nuts!

  • wow.. amazing.. and the camera does a wonderful job capturing them.. i wanna see them live again sooo bad.. -_-

  • I love Kyo's new hairstyle.

  • 最後に拍手してる所をみると聴き入ってたんだろ

  • 棒立ち

  • I was there, further down the front was energetic but I agree there wasn't enough people giving support

  • Was there more people? How come it looks so less? Does anyone there love them? Thank you for the upload!!!!!

  • I was there and loved them. :D

  • I was at the front and I loved every minute. Wanted it to last longer. :(

  • my thoughts exactly.

  • I waited at the front for 7 hours just for them. There was loads of people from what I seen when the camera showed the crowd, it's so different being there to watching videos. They had a good audience :)

  • Eh, it saddens me that so many people are standing still/walking off and there are huge gaps :(

  • omfg vinushka live o_0
