    thanks,

  • does anyone knows how to make malted corn ??????

  • @ClesmacioLuque im much the same way.. you need to let the sprout form though to about 1.5 t 2 inchs long

  • @SovietProduction have a look at my kiln video

  • i did malting first time in my life. so as i red malting barley will take 9-10 days, but my barley were malted in 4-5 days. first two days i soaked them and other two days were enough for making 15mm roots. is it ok??!!

  • Wow, I thought you were using feed barley to make a whisky mash, not a beer mash. Very interesting. If you grade your grain I think you will greater consistency of time to chit. Also steep the grain for 20 minutes at a time in warm water before draining. 20 minutes is the time used with the malted grain to prepare it for a wet mill when going straight to a mash. It is sufficient to wet the husk and no more. I see no reason why this same time should not be used with the green grain.

  • @TheBeebopper with my new malt roller i have great even malting now, and it does get about 20 mins in the water as it drains rather slowly from the bucket. i have tried lots of ways and thats the best method i have tried. i make ALL my malt myself. crystal, pale, pilsner, brown, Vienna, etc. i dont understand the last part, sounds like your talking about mashing not malting

  • Hey, I like your videos about malting. I am wondering how to make different malts like munich, Vienna, crystal and like that. Is it just differences in temperature and time for roasting or what? Always wondered.

  • @uglybob6666 Munich and Vienna are roasted lightly but start with higher moisture content so they convert some starch to sugar, crystal has been mashed in the grain (look at my brew vids and i think i show the inside of one it goes clear and glassy ie crystal) but most malt variations are just different roasting times, roasting temperatures and starting moisture content

  • @HomeDistiller Thanks very much for the info!

  • have a look at my series on doing a brew, i talk about the recipe and then show all the steps in brewing it

  • can you send me a recipe so i can brew my own thanks much appreciated
